I was on active duty in Germany in the late 1990s. I purchased a cuckoo clock from the black forest. The clock ran for 25 years with no problems. In September 2023, it stopped working. I took it to Paul's Clock repair. Paul did an excellent job. Not only did he repair the clock, he made it look like new. After 25 years, I thought I knew how to take care of a cuckoo clock. Took my Seth Thomas 3 chime mantel clock there to be repaired. After Paul's daughter, Lisa, looked at the clock and then wound it she said that it was completely wound down and was working fine now, ticking and chiming. (How embarrassing, I thought that I had over wound the clock and ruined the spring.) She suggested that we take the clock home for a week and if it worked, fine, if not bring it back. She said that she didn't want to charge for a clock that did not need repaired. She explained some things about the clock to me and answered all of my questions. My cuckoo clock, which my wife brought back from Germany in the early 80's, stopped working. The pendulum weight was stuck in the upmost position and the hands spun freely.
