I've been coming here for many years. The is definitely one of my favorite places for fried mushrooms and chili cheese fries. It never fails the mushrooms are a good size. Service is always quick and the workers are friendly. The place is pretty chill with music playing and outdoors seating only.

It's clear that Paul's Place is a favorite among locals! Order at one of the windows and wait for your order to be called. They have lots of outdoor seating in a nice little covered patio area. I got the Club Sandwich, which is loaded! Definitely had to smash it down in order to get a bite of everything. It comes with turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mayo between three slices of bread. Comes with a pickle spear and pepperoncini on the side. I liked that the bacon was nice and crispy! We also got a side order of mushrooms and zucchini, and both come as pretty large portions that are great for sharing. They're battered and fried, so they're perfectly crispy;. The mushrooms are whole and still maintain their juiciness. I enjoyed the zucchini as well! They also come topped with parmesan cheese to make them extra yummy! They have LOTS of online or phone orders coming in, so it took a while to get our to-go order that we placed in person.

Found this place on yelp decided to try it out . Right off the bat noticed no drive through . I ordered some burgers with fries and onion rings . The burger was fire! Had a great taste the buns were nice and soft and the thousand island dressing was on point . All in all great burger . The fries were good also but the onions rings were great had a nice crispy texture and the batter was good as well . The service was cool and the outside was nice small patio vibes . Great burger spot but definitely pricey but if you don't mind paying this is a good burger joint!

I usually don't like pastrami sandwiches cuz they taste dry and cold, ie that was my experience at The Hat. But I had it here and it was tender, juicy, and hot! I loved every bite of it. It was quite big and eating half of it was filling enough. The fries were also fresh, not too salty and was a great side. Now I can say I do like pastrami sandwiches, but only from here.

Broasted chicken delicious as always. There were two big potato wedges as well that were well cooked. But the toasted rolls that normally come with this were missing. The nice thing about the Broasted chicken dinner is instead of coleslaw or salad you can sub extra fries. And they give you a very generous double fries, overflowing in the bag. I had a bacon avocado cheeseburger which was pretty satisfying. Plus some of my husband's abundant fries. Prepare to wait a bit for the Broasted chicken, it's made to order.

I typically get the cheeseburger combo with fries and a drink but I wanted to try something different so I went with the pastrami sandwich and onion rings instead. The sandwich was huge. Easily big enough to share. However, I thought it was dry and could have used a little more flavor/sauce. I don't like pickles so I left those off and that may have changed the taste. The onion rings however were delicious! Another large serving for sharing but you might not want to. They were light, crispy and just right. As a caveat - their burgers are absolutely delicious and they have an excellent chicken salad as well. Give this place a try, it's worth it.

I have no idea how, but somehow I've passed this place like 700 times and never noticed it there. A friend recently told me she had it for dinner and raved about it, described where it was and I knew all the businesses surrounding it, but it's so discreet and hidden to me that I never knew it existed. Bummer because I've had it twice since she recently told me and it was delicious both times! The service is quick and the staff is sweet. The food is so fresh and tasty and the portions are massive. I only ate about a 5th of my salad and saved the rest. My kids had a hard time deciding what to order because they have so many tasty things on the menu. So now we just have to keep going back so we can try more. :-) I hope they get some better signage or promote it somewhere or something so they get more business! I like small hidden gems like this and I want them to last in the community!

October 2025- 3.5 Stars. I stopped by Paul's Place for a BLT and some onion rings. The BLT ($6.99) was pretty good -- fresh lettuce, crisp tomato, and nicely toasted bread -- but the bacon could have been fresher and a little more generous. It had good flavor overall, but just shy of that perfect BLT balance. The onion rings ($7.99) were excellent -- crunchy, golden brown, and full of flavor without being greasy. Easily the standout item of the meal. I paired everything with a medium soda ($2.81), bringing my total to about $28 including tax for two meals. Service was friendly and quick, and diner vibe makes it a comfortable local spot for breakfast or lunch. With slightly fresher bacon, this would've been an easy four-star visit.

How have I not done a review on Paul's Place yet??!? This place is a mainstay of the neighborhood. :) The food is consistently good, it's your standard short order comfort food menu, but the quality is better than most other places, as is the service! The place is always clean and well kept, and it's always a chill atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We're here pretty often, again, it's quick, easy, and you know it will be good. 10/10. :)

We stopped by this place last month, and when we were looking for something quick to eat we remembered it. It is a walk up restaurant where you order at the window and all of the tables are on the patio. It's a huge patio and the tables are relatively spread out. It's surrounded with pots with plants in it - - somebody clearly has a green thumb. The menu is enormous, and serves everything from Greek food ( I think that it is primarily supposed to be a Greek restaurant?? ) to Mexican food to broasted chicken. There are hamburgers and hot dogs and huge salads. There are different kinds of sandwiches and ice cream. Really there's something for everyone here. On this visit I ordered a grilled chicken salad. It was a huge salad with sliced boiled egg, half of an avocado, croutons and a grilled chicken breast. The chicken breast was absolutely delicious - - not at all dry and clearly marinated in something yummy. It came with grilled pita bread. I ordered Caesar dressing on the side, and I think it might have come from a bottle. That was the one thing I didn't love about the salad. Hubby ordered a chili cheese dog which was delicious and exactly as you would expect a chili cheese dog to be. Son ordered a patty melt. He loved the rye bread it was on, and he can be picky about rye bread. It did not come with fries, and he did not order a side. We have had the fries before and they are fine if you need more food, but this was plenty for us. We did not order the broasted chicken this visit, but we did have it last visit and I can tell you it is 100% delicious. It is a huge order though, and too big for any of us on this visit. None of us were very hungry. There seems to be a constant stream of people coming and picking up food. It's a nice little patio to sit on a on a nice night.

Nice casual outdoor dining area with great background music. There is no disappointment in these side dishes. Big portions and very crunchy.

Very cute outdoor diner place. I went to a Paul's Place in Merced, CA, but did not give off this same feel and vibe. Service was great, and we ordered the zucchini fries, onion rings, and a chicken parmesan sandwich. Honestly, the zucchini fries were yummier than I expected!

Full order of Fried Zucchini- YUM!

Very good very rich, we should've opted for slaw on the side, but the fries were delicious. I had the grilled cheese and homemade tomato basil bisque soup. That was so darn delicious! Food: The crust of their pizza is very airy and doesn't sit heavy in your stomach plus it just tastes great. The meatballs are so good and I highly recommend ordering some. They're flavorful, juicy, and the tomato sauce that they are in is delicious. The salads are good too, my favorite being the Caesar, although it is on the heavier side due to the dressing. Delicious food, great service, chill atmosphere, and good parking. Can't complain!

I've come to this place fairly regularly and each experience was wonderful. 4-5 stars every time…read more Today, it was different. And I'm writing this review in hopes that the menu will return to the quality it used to be bc this experience was genuinely so disappointing. My in laws came down to go out and celebrate our birthday dinners. 7 ppl in the party (5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) with high expectations. Ordered Bruschetta and Calamari for appetizers. Don't like Calamari but my father in law and hubby loved it, said it was bomb. The bruschetta is my absolute favorite almost inedible bc the slices of bread were SO HARD and burnt, it was impossible to bite through. Breadsticks were also burnt (never happened before), which also sucked since they're the one things I was hoping my to impress my in laws with. I wonder if it's just bc we got there early, like right after they opened? Idk but ugh what a bust, man! Especially since I saw the standard beautiful golden buttery sticks being served to other tables later! And I was just sooooo bummed. Look, the rest of my family enjoyed their food but I genuinely hated mine. Here's what I did wrong: I should have just ordered penne with marinara or Alfredo. Instead, I opted for penne with Caruso sauce (meat sauce with cream+romano cheese?) and added meatball+italian sausage for an extra $8. Came with a choice of soup or salad so i ordered regular dinner salad with ranch. Everyone else upgraded to either a Caesar salad or to clam chowder. SIL like her Caesar salad while hubby and in laws raved about their chowder. Normally, the dinner salad has a little bit of heft, it's not massive but it's still pretty solid portion. This time....my salad was just...so...small. And the toppings? One cherry tomato, one slice of cucumber (cut in half) and one peppercini -- didn't even offer shredded cheese. Turns out, ALL of the cheese graters were broken so then I had to specifically ask for cheese shavings which came out in thick slices? I appreciate the effort though but still...what? There's not some kind of mandolin or box grater ANYWHERE? come on guys, I know times are tough but don't bother adding toppings to the salad if you're gonna be so skimpy. maybe if you added the arugula that lined the bruschetta to my dinner salad, it would been more satisfying? I was just so confused and frustrated bc this was so unusual. Which brings to my entree: penne with caruso sauce with 1 meatball and 1 sausage. honestly, it was absolutely disgusting. First of all, the sauce just tasted gross. The sweetness is extremely overpowering and overwhelming. Second, the sauce was COLD; the penne itself was hot but the sauce clearly was reused leftovers that had obviously just been kept in the fridge. Third, the color of the sauce is unappetizing and the overall "look" of the dish was just gross. there's a bunch of bits of meat sprinkled throughout which kinda made it look like barf. It also tasted like barf too so I mean... ya. Just avoid this sauce. It's disgusting. As far as service is concerned, my son's kids meal was wrong so he didn't eat his either (ordered chicken strips with spaghetti with marinara plus 1 meatball but he got penne pasta soooo ya that was pretty annoying and a waste). Pink haired waitress came to check on us once, while most of the refill duty was handled by the young runners. Place was very, very busy and I didn't see any other servers so idk. Overall, it's just such a bummer. I'm beyond disappointed bc this place is normally sooooo yummy. I just dont know what happened? TLDR; avoid caruso sauce, order soup over the dinner salad

I ordered the bacon cheeseburger on sourdough with onion rings and an Arnold Palmer (more lemonade than tea). God, the service from my server Sarah was amazing too. The overall ambience and atmosphere knocked me off my socks too. Absolutely shocked how juicy the burger was, then again I did order it medium rare. The highlight of my meal were the onion rings. I had the feeling that they were double battered, breaded, and then fried. Felt like I died and went to heaven as I ate those onion rings. The food gets 5 stars Onto the most important highlight of my experience eating here, my wonderful and amazing server, Sarah. She was awesome and gave me a full rundown of all of the sides, sauces, cheeses that could come with my burger. Loved her warm attitude and running commentary as I ordered. Knowing that she loved the Arnold Palmer and bacon cheeseburger with onion rings made me feel like I made the right choice. Pretty cool to have a server with similar tastes in food. Also, she helped move my walker out of the way so it wouldn't block the flow of foot traffic. Kudos to her for that too. She'll probably be my favorite member of the wait staff if I ever come back for lunch again. Overall, a sweet girl with the right attitude. 5 stars for her amazing service. Finally, the overall appearance and ambience of the restaurant made me feel like I stepped back into my childhood in the 2000s. Timeless decor and comfortable seating along with it being busy during lunch with regulars made me appreciate this place even more. The wait for my food wasn't terrible considering it was the lunch rush. If anything the time it took made everything taste better. The overall ambience and vibe of the place gets 5 stars as well. Los Alamitos definitely has some amazing restaurants and this place is an absolute gem. I'm definitely coming back.

Came here with a party of nine, they were quick to accommodate (although they didn't have the…read morereservation in the system that we had called in two days prior, and there was some visible quibble between the servers as to who was going to take us) and were more than friendly the entire time. Our glasses were kept full and they were attentive whenever we needed anything. The ambiance was clean and welcoming, with lots of televisions on with various sports on which was nice. The food was... ok... Some mistakes made on the orders, and a few in the party just weren't pleased with their orders - in particular with the fish and chips, they both said it seemed like it was frozen and whipped up quick - the texture and taste was off. My order was the roast beef melt with chillies. It came with the roast beef and chilies, but then had sauerkraut and thousand island dressing, like the chef just lost track of what he was making half way through? I lived with it as we had already waited to start eating as there was an error between salad and sandwich for another order, and I was hungry and didn't want to hold things up further. Again, they were friendly and fixed the things we brought up to them, but they just seemed like there were a lot of communication issues and things not running as tightly as they should behind the scenes.
