This is my favorite location I've visited as of recent - service is great and the space feels homey. It feels less corporate, I think. I never not order the one enchilada plate ($10.49) with chicken, green sauce, white rice, and black beans. The version here is pretty generous. I felt like my single enchilada was heartier than usual and I got plenty of rice and beans. Pro move is to get extra green sauce and pour it over the bed of rice. Delish. The Maui chicken bowl is quite good too. It's a glorified teriyaki bowl with a generous portion of protein served over rice, beans, pico de gallo, and citrus slaw. If you like teriyaki flavored things - order this. It tasted exponentially healthier without all the heavy sauce. Oh! This Wahoo's has a full bar! Had lunch here with some friends. Right off the bat the place has a fun, relaxed, chill, Cali vibe to it. I appreciated that they had tv's inside. I ordered a 1988 grilled fish taco and it was absolutely disgusting. Tortillas, a chunk of dry, tasteless fish, and cabbage (I ordered it without cheese). I couldn't even eat it. The guy at the counter was very nice, so I'll give them that. Otherwise, easily the worst taco I've ever had. read more

We have been to this particular Wahoo's in Los Alamitos and consistently we are pleased with their service and food. The location is super nice and love the vibe and music. The service was amazing! I would give the staff 5 stars. Customer service was top tier. But unfortunately the food was not that good. Presentation wise yes but it just was missing flavor. The rice and beans tasted kinda like out of a can/ or minute rice. I ordered the fish tacos and they were ok. Felt like they needed more seasoning. They did have a station with a variety of sauces but usually fish tacos come with their special sauce. Overall the 3 stars are because of the food. Underrated gem of a place if you're craving some fish tacos or Californian-fusion Mexican food! I love the salsa bar they have so you can try all the different sauces, and the menu has a little bit of everything if you're craving a bowl, salad, or a taco / burrito, or even fries or onion rings. Just enjoyed my Mother's Day Luncheon here! It was a wonderful experience! Thank's to my sons and their bringing my Grandkids to celebrate with me! The servers were so accommodating especially needing to make changes because of my grandson's food allergies! Took back what was served and brought a new dish without the allergens! I have driven by these restaurants but never tried it! I'm happy do say I'll be stopping from now on! I had the 2 taco combo with fish taco and carne asada. Both were perfect! I come here for lunch a few times a week for the past year. This review is long over due. Food is always hot and fresh. Service Staff is all smiles and accommodating. Byron, David, Kyle, or Elizabeth are always there to greet you. Love coming to a place where employees don't rotate regularly. Typical wahoos ambiance, surf, skate, extreme sports. This location has gone from good enough to very poor. I ordered the chipotle salad with wild spicy fish. The fish was dry but the worst was that all the salsas including the cilantro dressing was going bad. They all had bubbles coming up to the surface. I refused to add any salsa or dressing to my food, afraid I would get food poisoning. It was 12 noon and there was only 3 other people there. Not enough customers and therefore not fresh food. I will never come back and I would not recommend this place. Sad! read more

Wahoo's has always been one of our favorite places to go for fish tacos. Main reason is the fish is wild-caught and much healthier for you. Do your research and you will be much more aware of the fish you should consume. Today I had the 1-taco combo. Grilled salmon (wild caught) with citrus slaw. Cauliflower rice and spicy pinto beans completed the platter. This is a perfect sized meal and a good source of protein. i do love their rice but husband reminded me of the cauliflower rice. Perfect. Taco has a nice amount of fish and a generous portion of slaw. Tastes awesome with green salsa or even the cilantro dressing. less than 400 calories. Onion Rings is also our favorite. comes with ranch and ketchup. Crispy and crunchy. well worth the 525 calories and perfect to share. Husband had the Kale Kai salad with shrimp. less than 300 calories. Plus Cilantro dressing. They do have adult beverages but we just had iced tea today. Too early for a beer :) Service is good and we got all our food within 15 minutes. This is my first time at this location. I do like the vaulted ceiling indoors. Outdoor seating is also available. The pork is tender and flavorful, and the rice and beans are good as well. The service at Wahoo's is also great. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they're always happy to help you choose the perfect meal. In the past we have eaten inside. Steak taquitos were unseasoned and bland sitting in a watery mound of guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. 3 taquitos cut in half on the diagonal to appear bigger. Disappointing. They have multiple locations and this one is my favorite. They offer combos, bowls, soups, salads, shared plates, burritos, desserts, a kid's meal, and drinks. The difference between the #1 Combo and #2 Combo is you either get one or two tacos or enchiladas. I love how you can choose between so many options. Plus spicy mushrooms I never knew existed since it's not listed on the front on their website or there. I've had the Banzai Veggies before and they are amazing. Bell peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, and cabbage sauteed in teriyaki sauce. I would highly recommend it. They offer different types of taco toppings: Citrus Slaw: Your protein, cheese, citrus slaw, and homemade aioli in soft corn tortillas. The 1988: Fish or your protein, cheese, lettuce or cabbage, and salsa. Fuego Carnitas Taco: Smoky chipotle carnitas on a corn tortilla with melted cheese, roasted street corn, queso fresco, cilantro, and Fuego Roasted Salsa. Crispy Fish Taco: Alaska Flounder with lightly seasoned breading on a corn tortilla with melted cheese, citrus slaw, and cilantro sauce. The enchilada is: Your protein with red or green homemade enchilada sauce and melted cheese. The sides are black or spicy cajun white beans and white or brown steamed rice. My boyfriend always orders Combo #2 with two fish tacos 1988 style, white rice, spicy cajun white beans with cheese on top. He loves it. He can order it multiple times a week no problem. They now offer Tacos de Papa. It's three for $7.49. They were really good and crispy. I would recommend eating them first of your meal instead of waiting to get all the crispiness it has to offer. On the receipt it says having them with Pico De Gallo, Salsa, Lettuce, Maria Sauce, and Queso Fresco. I've also heard their brownies were good. I love their employees at this location. They are the friendliest, cleanest, helpful, and kind staff I want at most places I go. I've never seen anyone look frustrated even though people can be messy with all their items. They are also quick and I've never had to sit and wait for a long time even though the place can get busy. They make sure none of the salsas and items in that area get low and are replenishing them even when it comes down to the plastic containers. I'm guilty of taking more than two salsas and I've never had to scrape or touch multiple items just to get something to take with my to-go order. You guys just overall rock. They have an allergen and vegan guide on their website which is helpful. A lot of items are the same since it's the same items in a different form. The soup was bueno. I think I will get it again sometime:) It was nice and hot. Yum The salad received had some oldish lettuce in it. The green lettuce was greenish in some areas (nice) but some was reddish (from being cut with a knife probably a day ago or so, which needed to be pulled out) and also some brownish pieces (which needed to be pulled out). So the other parts of the salad were good, just very little decent pieces of lettuce. Next time it's soup for me. (No salad next time because I am afraid at the of lack of freshness of lettuce.)
