I waited about 5 minutes and he apologized for the wait but I felt I was taken care of in such a quick time as I was only there 15 minutes. This was about five years ago when I started going to Paul's for our family's smog checks. I'm just now writing about my experience's at this place and I have to say they are all very positive. I go to Paul's to get my smog done whether my car requires a Test Only or just the regular smog check. Since Paul's is a Test Only smog station (they don't do repairs) they have no incentive to tell me to do repairs that I don't need. Paul's was recommended to me by my mechanic (and best friend). The guys there are really nice and knowledgeable. They always do a pre-check on my car and if they know it won't pass they will let me know what they think is wrong so I can get it repaired. They are a little hard to find, just go to Carson Mall and look for 24 hr Fitness, they are across the street. read more

Best smog place I've ever been to you must experience the difference. They genuinely care about you and look for your best interest. I went in for a smog check because I had recently bought a car and Paul was honest to tell me that I didn't need one because the smog wasn't due for a couple of months and that I will be able to get my tags, he even looked at a California section code for me to give to the DMV. I came here after reading reviews and noticing this was the closest smog check place near my house. I came with my 2006 Jetta that I had just gotten some mechanical work done on. Paul told me how long and the best way to drive my car to trigger the check engine light before I came back. After driving my car for a bit I came back and got my car tested. The entire process was super quick and convenient and Paul was incredibly helpful and nice the entire time. Complete asshole working here on Saturday mornings. When I called and made an appointment the day before he said "don't be late." I thought that was kinda a weird thing to say to a customer. I show up early in the morning right on time and he asks me for my paperwork and stuff so I had to dig through my glove compartment to get it and he says "come on, I can't be wasting my time." I give him the paperwork then he gets in my car and literally floors it over the speed bumps. WTF? He comes back and I told him that's a shitty way to treat other peoples cars. He says he had to test drive it for the dyno (old car). Then says never mind I don't want to smog it and backs it out and says "have a nice day." You can test drive the car for safety without flooring it over speed bumps with no regard for the car. The guy is a complete asshole with no regard for other people's property or time. I still can't believe this guy talks to people so disrespectful at a place of business. Other customers there were shocked at how he acted as well. Don't skip days on your statins, fat boy's time is limited. I went to a smog place right around the corner and got my car smogged for $20 cheaper. Hard pass on this place guys. read more
