I recently moved to Sacramento and found this little place and I couldn't be happier! I took my two poodle mixes in for haircuts and baths, which they desperately needed! They did an amazing job at cleaning them up and making them look so great! Price was very fair and convenient to my house too. 2 dogs, approximately 3 hours just as they stated when I dropped them off. I will definitely be taking my babies back. Based on reviews from friends, family and neighbors I took my Chi - Terrior mix to Fred for a full groom. She looks great! It was her first time to a groomer and I wasn't sure how she'd react. After being a customer for several years I am thoroughly disgusted with Paw Pros. Fred has always done a great job for our laso apso Ozzy in the past. But the staff that was there on Saturday 12/23/17 did a rotten, inexcusable job on our dog. I asked them,(as usual), to leave the "Teddy Bear face" cut in tact but just trim it, and to cut the rest of Ozz'y hair short. What they did is inexcusable to me and My wife Pam. They cut all of our dog's hair off, and completely stripped him of all hair including his ears, and even his wiskers, and eye wiskers were cut off. I am trying to get a hold of Fred to complain to him personally about this disaster. Fred, if see this post please call me @ 916-308-1696 so I can explain it to you. I needed a place that could help my poor Muffin so nice he had his surgery. His back legs aren't super strong yet, but he really needs some puppy maintenance. I just happened to stop by to see if they could help or had experience with "special needs" dogs. James was very helpful and suggested I wait a bit for the safety of Muffin, which I really appreciated since he obviously knows better than I do. Paw Pro's came up as highly rated and is close to me. When I called I reached a phone message that indicates if the groomer is busy to please text, she'll text at the end of her day or, if she's working late, the next day. She returned my text later that evening. I asked her to give me general information as I had never taken a dog to a groomer before. She told me what I needed to know and then explained to me how her first groom may not be my ideal depending on how well my puppy responded, but that she was more concerned that my dog's first experience be positive as a negative experience will effect how she responds to grooming in the future. I've waited for a full year before setting an appointment for my sweet and timid Goldendoodle, Minnie, to be groomed. I was able to keep her maintained myself for so long, but the time had come where her hair was matting even with daily brushings. I found Fred and Paw Pros through Yelp, and Yelp and Fred once again came through. We were treated to very careful treatment for my sensitive pup, and the results are stellar. I just moved to the area and didn't want to drive my dog all the way to petco by Arden so I thought I'd try this place out. I was nervous at first because I had to leave a message and wait to be called back. In fact I probably called more then once before I left a message. I did get a call back and they had an opening that day. They're a small business and I must say it's worth waiting for the phone call back in this "I want it now" kind of world. My dog is a fragile 125+ pound dog that needs love, she's sensitive. Haha. Her nails had been neglected for some time they don't naturally file down with walks. They took care of her they listened to me (I didn't drop her off my husband did) and her nails were filed down nicely and are still doing great and she smelled clean!! My little Jack Russell Terrier is a timid girl, and can get slightly nippy if she feels threatened. I've been struggling to find a way to get her nails cut for years. I've tried clipping them myself, using a Dremmel, and even trying to file each nail down one-by-one -- all with no luck. She ends up pulling her paws away and even sitting on them so I can't get to them. If I persist, she nips at me. My only solution over the years has been to bring her in to the vet and have her nails cut while she is under sedation. This is unnecessary and can get extremely pricey. After much frustration, I decided to go back and try a groomer. I did tons of research and settled on Paw Pros. Boy, am I glad I did! Paw Pros has been a life saver. I know my little one is well taken care of when I bring her in. I met the owner and a couple of the staff members and they are all wonderful. Great customer service and they were fantastic with my girl. They were very gentle and careful with her. Her nails were clipped in 10 minutes and closer than I could ever get them. They asked if I wanted her nails 'Dremmel'd" and I said I wasn't sure if she would let them. They said they would feel her out and try if she seemed okay with it. I was impressed how accommodating they were. I think most other places would refuse to even try. They take appointments and are open on Saturdays. I've taken my 8 month old Morkie puppy, Piper, to Paw Pros since she was 5 months old. The Yorkie and Maltese in her makes her a feisty little thing, but Paw Pros has always been very patient with my girl! I really appreciated how Paw Pros gradually introduced Piper to the whole grooming routine. After a couple visits I can honestly say this is the best groomer I've taken my pups to. My dachshund mix doesn't love the place, but what dog likes the groomers?! They do a wonderful job and leave my dogs smelling wonderful for days. After getting a new 60lb English bulldog, I wasn't sure how he'd react to the groomers, but Fred handled him well! I took my Pom/chi/pap/lahpso mix Dexter in for his summer cut, I was helped promptly and after getting my description of what I wanted they got right to work. This place is AMAZING!! I have a very, very nervous German Shepherd and the owner was so accommodating and gentle with him. I always get really nervous when I take him to get groomed, but the owner allowed me to stay right by my dog's side during the whole process! The price was pretty reasonable, too.
