Well, the last of my children just completed treatment with Dr. Pawley and I could not be more pleased with the absolutely amazing outcome! My son and daughter both had terrible overcrowding, with adult teeth coming on on the outside of existing teeth, overbite and a cross-bite. My daughter originally saw another "well respected" Invisalign orthodontist and he wrote an order to have a couple of her permanent molars removed. I took her to Dr. Pawley for a second opinion and he stated while he also sometimes used Invisalign, it was entirely inappropriate for my daughter's case and he strongly advised against the removal of her healthy molars. He explained he would bring her jaw forward to improve her profile, widen her arch and save all of her teeth and that's exactly what he did. The before and after pictures on both of my children are incredible! Please think of the permanence of extractions and the significant limitations of Invisalign and see Dr. Pawley for treatment or at a minimum, a second opinion. We have just gotten back from our first appointment with Dr. Pawley, and I definitely felt the need to leave a review. We actually chose him based on reviews here and it was a GREAT decision for us. We did have a bit of a wait, but then again, we got there quite late as I got lost finding the office. (That's on me.) However, we were greeted, treated kindly and cheerfully and when we were seen in, the assistant Karen put us right at ease. She really could not be friendlier - not "I have to do this for my job" friendly but just genuinely outgoing and interested. My son was totally comfortable right away. Dr. Pawley came in and he gave us the lowdown, after, like Karen, friendliness and putting us at ease. It seems everyone at the office is very happy to be there, it really sets things off on the right foot. We were there for a second opinion as we had been told our middle son needed an expander and braces. This was following on a whole bunch of procedures for our youngest as well that came out of the blue and we really just weren't sure and wanted someone else to take a look. So my husband went review-hunting, we saw the great reviews here for Dr. Pawley and we set up the appointment for the second opinion. Wow, what a different experience with Dr. Pawley's office. Dr. Pawley (and initially, Karen too) said it would be smarter to wait until my son's adult teeth are all in before getting braces. He can predict but won't know for certain exactly what the situation be like until that actually happens. As for the expander, my son really doesn't need it and it would only be an unnecessary additional procedure. Dr. Pawley also took a look at my other son's teeth even though we had no appointment. (I had brought up the subject of this son's expander.) Dr. Pawley saw no reason not to as we were already there and it was a simple matter of filling out a quick sheet of paperwork for my second son too. He actually adjusted my second son's retainer. No muss, no fuss, no extra appointment, no charge and my littlest son is now so much more comfortable. I absolutely would recommend this office - can't say enough about our experience, which so far has been wonderful. I am just so happy and relieved to have gotten a second opinion and that it happened to be an office that, from all indications so far, anyway, is pure gold. We are switching over to this office. After having my braces removed about 2 years later, I was extremely pleased with the results. If I could give Pawley & Okamoto Orthodontics more than 5 stars, I would!!! I had an absolutely phenomenal experience there. I got my braces off about 2-3 months ago. I could not be happier with how my teeth came out. Steven L. must have some kind of hidden agenda against Dr. Pawley for some strange reason. He's obviously in the minority with his negativity. Is this the cheapest place around? Maybe not. But just like the saying goes...you get what you pay for! I had no interest in getting a "bargain" for my ortho treatment. After all, dental health greatly affects your overall health and it is an investment that lasts a lifetime. Having said that, I thought the cost was very reasonable and I never, ever felt pressured. My favorite thing about Pawley & Okamoto Ortho was the friendly, professional staff. Those girls work so hard and make you feel like you're a part of the family. I loved going there for appointments, they all always put me in a good mood. In fact, when my treatment was over, I was sad I wouldn't get to see all of them on a regular basis. The quality of treatment is top-notch!! That is not just my opinion, it is a fact. I got a permanent retainer and my dental hygienist (who works at a different office) commented on what an outstanding job they did (and always do) with their permanent retainers, compared to others who do a sloppy job. Another orthodontist we consulted wanted to take out 4 permanent teeth to create space and then just cram them all together.
