Horrible. Online payment system frequently does not work. Try to pay by telephone and you are put on hold for half an hour to an hour and then the call is disconnected. And compared to other pawn shops, they charge too much and pay too little. Employees frequently give false information on many subjects. A "One Star" rating is one star too many. read more

Bought a power washer on eBay from Pawn America, location in posting was Burnsville. That day I called to find out about picking it up, after 25 rings I was put on hold for 1/2 hour, no answer. Called back later that day, no answer. The next day drove 73 miles to get power washer that was not in Burnsville, it was in St Cloud. Talked to a manager that was NOT apologetic or even polite, he said St Cloud was just about 70 minutes away I can go there and get it. Can't ever remember ever being treated this way from any company when they make the mistake. This shows' a lack of concern and empathy. I will file complaints with eBay and BBB, but they will never have an opportunity to do this to me again, GONE FOREVER!! read more

I have shopped Pawn American on eBay in the past. This company doesn't offer bids they set the price extremely high and charge high shipping costs even on smalls. If they would be more competitive with other on line eBay Pawn Shops like Absolute Pawn in California... they would be much more successful.......I have purchased many items from Absolute Pawn. I watch Pawn America's site daily but have only purchased one item from them due to the above mentioned issues ...... An item we tried to return and exchange couldn't happen because they didn't have it in there story we ask if they could search in a different pawn story and the manager only check to places, we ask if he could check in more places and he said he was to busy to help and there was a lot of employees not doing anything all so that manager was just a dumbass read more

Really I'd give them 3.5 stars. The general consensus here is accurate - they've got a decent selection at good prices, but customer service is poor. There's pretty much never anyone at the checkout - you have to wave someone down or stand there until someone notices you. Not cool. And the prices on music/movies is very inconsistent - there's often multiple copies of the same thing for very different prices. But other than that, it's a decent pawn shop. read more

I just want to warn any potential buyers, I had gone in to purchase a ring, upon picking one out the sales person ( Anthony) Assured me to come back the next day to figure out the pricing on the ring, I was told the ring would be put on hold because of our issue. The issue was that it was a ring that was in the 30 percent off case with a sign that says 30 percent off and the Anthony also said it was the case with 30 percent off the ring. Long story short I came back the next day new years eve to find a big surprise. Not only was the ring I had intent to already purchase the day before hand not put on hold, the price on the ring was also switched to double the amount. Now on these rings you can clearly see a price tag. The issue why I did not purchase it was that Anthony kept pushing me to just come back tomorrow since the manger that night would not honor that it was a ring that was suppose to have a 30 percent off of the listing price. He said come back tomorrow after I speak with the other manager tomorrow. I went home assured that the issue was going to be resolved. Low and behold I did not expect the lies put into this ring. I was pretty mad when I realized the deceit. Anthony then said he would speak with the regional manager and get this fixed. So I believed Anthony and went home again to wait for a phone call from him.He never called me back so I decided to call him. After being put on hold for 45 minutes Anthony finally came on the line and pretty much told me nothing can be done. Not once was a apology given from him after 3 days of him assuring me he will get it fixed. At the end of the day I was lied to again and again.
