After several times of calling Sharon last minute to book my dog for a haircut I finally booked an appointment. Sharon was nice enough to schedule us on 4th of July!! Sharon is very nice and accommodating. I brought my chihuahua in on the strength of yelp review even though I did not have an appointment with her. All I needed was to have the toe nail clipping done and she accepted instead of sending me on my way. Sharon even went out of her way to give my baby dry shampoo and expressed his annal gland for no additional cost because I am her first time customer. On top of that, she cleaned his ears too. Sharon was nice and gentle talking to him the whole time she was helping him. There's a calming spray that she used on him before the service. I highly recommend her. What an amazing establishment. I just moved to the Orange County and it's always hard to find the right groomer for my pup. I knew right away that they were gonna take good care of my dog when they were happy to carry him rather than drag him by the leash. Also they cut their hair in front of the store so no shady business in the "back" area of the shop and lastly they have a free space to play after they're groomed rather than get stuck in a cage. I am thrilled to have found Sharon today. My 17 year old dog had never been to a groomer for a bath, just nails. I was a little nervous, as my dog is frail and the last time I bathed her, she had a seizure. I showed up the end of the day, and she offered to stay longer to care for Katie. Omg Sharon is great! I have been taking my taking my 8 and 5 lb poodles Mimi & Marnie in every 6 weeks or so for years! Mimi is a bit skiddish with strangers but absolutely loves Sharon now. It's been hard to find this with other groomer's I've used. Every time I come in she is always improving her little shop more and more for the customers and pups. She makes these collars and doggie apparel by hand for her shop and even made Marnie a custom little cow print one because Marnie has the same coloring. We call her our little moo cow poodle . I've been to Paws Above The Rest twice now this month. I just recently moved around the corner and it's the closest shop to me. I've only talked on the phone with Sharon once, otherwise I've been helped both times by her groomer Triston. I first took my english bulldog for a bath since I can't do it at my new apt, he smelled great afterwards! (especially his face. that blueberry facial is a miracle) I then mentioned I have an older black siberian cat that had a butt full of matts and needed his yearly lion cut. Triston said Sharon does not do cats but that she does. Boo has been groomed at least 3 times before, he's definitely not a normal cat, he's super chill, more like a dog than anything. It was maybe 2 hours and change later I got a call saying he was ready (most cats don't take this quick! Don't use my time as an example) Triston did an amazing job on Boo. His head was a little rounded than what he normally gets but I'm not complaining, he looked adorable. I just want him to be cool during the summer. He's been stoked on his cut since he got home, so much more comfortable. After both grooming experiences I got a text from Sharon asking me how everything went, she was nice and I let her know everything went great. I personally like this place a lot. I will definitely be taking all of my animals to it as long as I live in the area still. SIDE NOTE! Maps will take you to The Kickin' Crab and tell you that you've arrived. The shop is in the same shopping center but over by the Liquor store and Hair Salon like 100 ft away *As for the negative reviews on here, I used to work at a grooming shop in Orange for 3+ years. You would be amazed at what dog owners will make up. Especially on Yelp! This can be a very stressful job and your dog may be a princess at home but in strangers hands/at a new place they can be very difficult. Groomers do their best to deal with every situation the safest way possible. They wouldn't be in this business: getting snapped at, pooped on, pee'd on, anal gland expressed in hair(the worst!) or barked at daily if they didn't truly love animals. So far this place is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

We just had our first spa day (which is the usual grooming service) with Sharon, and me and my furbabies are so pleased! I have two older lhasapoos that are rescues who seriously needed their first grooming after a couple months of getting settled in to our home. It turns out their fur was much more matted than I knew, but Sharon took the time and charged very reasonably for the extra time spent. Sharon also has an amazing vibe and personality with the dogs (and me) and they were so at ease with her when I dropped them off. Most importantly, they looked abso-freakin-lutely adorable when I picked them up. To say that Sharon did a great job doesn't do her service justice. She is very skilled, and it shows in all the work she did with my furbabies, as they needed more than average grooming. We are definitely coming back and are looking forward to it. read more

Sharon is awesome ! I called same day to make an appointment and she fit me in which is more than most places would allow and for that I am truly thankful. I brought my newly adopted scared lil pupper in and she took care of him like he was her own. I was afraid he'd come back traumatized like my other dog has from Petco grooming but he was completely calm and I could tell he felt really safe with her. She started by playing with him and meeting him in an open area for a few minutes and putting some calming essential oils on him. Once he was calm she took him back and did her magic. 2.5 hours later I can to pick him up and he looked brand new !! He smelt amazing he looked amazing and I could tell he felt amazing. You could tell Sharon really cares about what she does and puts her all into it. She went above and beyond for the same price as going to Petco or PetSmart but at Petco/PetSmart you run the risk of them getting hurt and not being cared for properly because all they care about is money. I love this place! Super friendly environment, owner is supper friendly & patient. My baby jordi (black) is quite a cry baby and cries when u pick her up or get close which can scare off most groomers but she used a special spray to calm her down and was very sweet to her. I've been taking my babies to another groomers which charged me $70-80 every time & didn't even clean out her anal glands even though it was included in the package. She told me all about it and omg I'm shocked my poor baby has been in pain rubbing her butt on the floor and I didn't even know what was wrong! Pepper (white) loved it she's much more social and easy to groom :) I wanted a summer cut for both and they just look so cute! They came out smelling amazing and I love how they weren't caged up since we don't normally cage them at home. Hopefully jordi won't be so hard the next time. Total for the two babies were $115. Highly recommend this place. She's very experienced and educated on dog grooming/needs. She took pics of them before their haircut & sent me photos! Found Sharon on Yelp since my puppy is over 30lbs now and our previous groomer can't take him in anymore. My only other alternative was Petsmart or Petsco but they charged $75-$90! I'm glad I went here instead. Sharon is very friendly and knowledgeable. She really gave off the impression that she cared for your dog rather than your money. Just took our dog here for the first time after a horrible experience at our previous groomer. This place definitely deserves the great reviews.
