No choice but to give this groomer the lowest possible rating. Here's why: I brought my golden retriever, with his beautiful coat, for a bath and a trim. Instead of a trim, they scalped him! A total buzz cut. The reception girl claims I told her this is what I wanted. Of course I did not. Why in the world would I? But here is the big point: I consulted experts on this topic, and learned that never, ever, should you shave a Golden. If the groomer knew what he was doing, he would have called me to confirm this is what I wanted, rather than take the word of a dingy receptionist who's mouth never stopped moving. I've brought my two doodles there twice, and was pleasantly pleased each time. It was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I'm glad I discovered it. Although I typically groom, both my dogs myself, it helps to have a respite in between. It's a smallest establishment, so my dogs feel happy and relaxed when I drop them off. George is a great groomer. The receptionist, Anna, is efficient and attentive. I have been going there for years with both my dogs.

We brought Dixie here for the first and last time on April 1st. We didn't expect an April Fool's joke of a visit. I showed a picture to Ana and explained we like a neat, clean look. I never said SUPER short. Jin, the owner, did the job and her hair was cut so short I could see her sensitive pink skin on several areas. I expressed my concern later over the phone with Ana, she spoke over me and ended up telling "I guess you can just go somewhere else". Oh that's for sure. i went there as a new customer because it's close to home, but will never go back. Too bad because we love to support local businesses vs. big chains. I get that they are understaffed and really busy as we reopen, but when you are dealing with people's fur babies, care needs to be taken with every appointment. read more

I took my Shorkie to get groomed and had given them instructions on how I wanted her hair cut before taking her in. Apparently the person taking the instructions wrote everything down. Since my Husband picked her up, I didn't get to see her till he got home with her. They didn't do what I asked! I immediately called them to voice my concern and I requested to take her back the next day so they could make the necessary corrections. I took her back, and it seemed they were bothered about me taking her back. I didn't understand what the problem was in cutting her hair to my liking!! Her hair was literally chopped of. No tapering! Very expensive! Charged me $80 for a puppy cut on a 14lb. Pomeranian/Poodle....and my dog even had razor burns on his back.

It was my first time taking my mini schnauzer here. It was my puppy's first grooming experience so we were both nervous on how she would do. The owner was very accommodating and understood our needs. She told me that if my puppy was too nervous and didn't cooperate then she would only do the minimum and we would need to come back. Luckily my schnauzer stayed the entire time and she looked so cute after! I entered and saw a girl (with tatoos-using for description) at the half doorway grooming a dog and was very rough with the sweet small brown dog. she was rough moving the dog where she wanted him /her and lifted his leg pretty high roughly. I asked to tell who was in charge. they said oh ok, I'll talk to her.They then they shut the door so I could not watch. A lady came out I said are you the owner she said no. there was dog hair all over the floor -mounds of it from different dogs now swept up. never saw so much different dog hair on the floor. I still left my dogs there despite my discomfort. I was used to going to a prettier shop with smiling employees-groomers. this was not the case here. I left my dogs there and thought keep an open mind. i also felt bad cancelling at this point but should have walked out. I then got a call that the dogs were ready. I was told bring cash or check only. I arrived , the receptionist took my money , more money than I was told I would be charged. I was then told by the "owner" who previously told me she was not the owner that my 12 and 13 year old dogs were " too old "and moved too much and that they would not groom them again. My sweet dogs have been getting groomed their whole life , once a month for 12-13 years or more. Every groomer they went to depending on where we lived loved them. They were excited to see my dogs and posted them on their web sites because they are so sweet and cute. This was upsetting and disappointing. We will go back to our previous groomer who loves our dogs. read more

Came in to get my 12 pound Chihuahua's nails clipped, they advertise $11 nail clipping... When they were all finished she came out to tell me that another lady had to help her cut my dogs nails so they charged me 15$ isn't that your job to cut nails? quoted $45 for our Bichon who just needed a basic cut ( not a show cut or anything fancy). left her to the groomers care with a group of 10 dogs waiting. Picked her up to find out the price was now $60!.....a "handling" fee was applied. The dog is as peaceful and friendly as you can get, although she gets a bit scared when in the midst of many other barking dogs. Apparently she had peed ( probably a submissive thing), which resulted in the handling fee. Never had a groomer pull such bullshit out of the air...I should have read the Yelp comments first. If you cant handle a small Bichon you shouldn't be a groomer. read more

WARNING....DO NOT GO HERE: I brought both of my Golden Retrievers in for a bath and tidy and requested that Jake have a haircut. I then asked about undercoat trimming to decrease shedding. The employee told me that she could shave underneath and I said that would be fine.Jake has a fear of the dryer and I made it clear that this to use a low setting or he would get very upset because of a bad experience in the past. I left them both in the hands of the employees there at Paws paws and when I returned I found that my Jake had been completely shaved!!! Of course this was not what I expected in my dog did not even look like my dog. I was extremely upset and voice that to the employee who stated that she told me that she was going to do a "shave down" and that there might have been some Communication Breakdown. I told her that at NO time did she say those words to me and that it didn't even make sense to talk about the dryer if there's no hair to dry. She was rude and walked into the back. In the past their service was good until they injured my dog and lied about it. After I left my dog and said they couldn't groom because her noise was bleeding with some cooked up excuse about high blood pressure could be the cause. My dog never had a noise bleed before or since. Her leg was injured to the point she had trouble walking. An injury that did not exist prior to leaving her there. The injury still exists. They made the excuse that she was an old dog. They made a big deal there would be no charges. I guess showed their guilt. This is similar about a previous review about leaving a dog unfettered. Paws Paws is how you spell it. I have used them for 4 years. They are very considerate and treat my baby gentle and loving. They have a glass window so you can see everything they do. When there is any concern medically they have brought it my attention such a nervousness or even a bump. They ask how you want cut or if any changes to cut each time. We go evry 2 weeks and it's going on nearly 5 years of visits to Paws Paws. I appreciate their concern and would not want to take our child anywhere else. Price is reasonable. read more

Very pleased with their services and their customer service. We are new to the area and called for an appointment. They were quite professional and offered us an appointment the following week. They provided a reminder call to us as well. The day of our appointment we got lost and wound up being late. They still took our dog and were very gracious about it. We love that you can see inside the grooming area and watch your dog being groomed. They don't use crates which is another star. Yet another star goes to the fact that turnover is very fast. Our Puggle was patiently waiting for us when we arrived and not at all stressed like he usually is after a grooming. He looked and smelled great. We found our new groomer! read more

As my dog and I walked into this groomer to make an appointment, the groomer came out to greet us but left the dog she was working on tethered by a leash on the table - as I looked through the window I saw the dog jump off & was dangling from the table by a rope/leash. This company quoted $45 for full grooming for my ShihTzu. When I went to pick-up, I was informed that the fee was $45 plus $10 for "handling" charge. Apparently they charge a handling fee if it is necessary for one groomer to hold dog while another grooms the dog's paws and/or if the dog squirms while they are grooming the paws. I have had my dog groomed by various other groomers and have never been informed that he is difficult to handle. Since going to Paws Pause, I have learned from several friends that they were also charged a "handling" charge. This is similar to the "resort" fee being charged by hotels, in my estimation! read more

We acquired our 3 year old Chihuahua about six months ago from the Rescue Pool so we don't have a lot of experience with dog Grooming businesses. We first tried Gypsy Dog and they were OK but charged $55 per grooming. Our neighbor told us about Paws Pause and we have been using them for the past four months. Their facility is clean and well organized. Their staff is very friendly and quite competent. They are close to our home and charge $25 per grooming. They work per appointment and are always on schedule. They call us when our dog is ready and we pick her up right away so she is never there more than about 2 hours. The dog seems happy and is not traumatized by the grooming and we are very happy with the result read more

I had taken my dog to Paws Pause several times and he was always nervous to the point of panic. I just thought he did not like to be groomed. The last time he had cuts all over his body from the wire brush they used. I called them and asked to speak with the owner. I was told she was "busy". I left my number and asked her to call me. When I did not hear from her for a week I called back. The groomer insisted I tell her why I wanted to speak to the owner. She told me she was the groomer. I explained he was so badly cut I had to take him to our Vet to be put on antibiotics as some were now infected. She said she was my dog's groomer and would never do that. She also told me the owner told her that if my Vet will certify in writing that the cuts came from them, they would pay my $100 Vet bill. Of course a Vet cannot do that as they don't know what else happened in the dog's life between grooming and seeing the Vet for treatment. I asked to speak with the owner of Paws Pause 4 times and he/she never got back to me. I have tried to let everyone in my community know about this inhumane treatment and thought I should put this on Yelp too. I never want any dog to have to go through what my dog did. read more

Do not trust your furry family to this groomer. They cut my dog's eye and would not reimburse me for the complete grooming. Groomer did an awful job on the cut. Have to wait for the insurance company to reimburse me for all medical charges that were incurred. Who knows how long that will be. Definitely go someplace else. read more
