Lovely place with a lovely staff. I travel a lot for work and have been hunting for a place in Houston to call home. Paws is a possibility because I loved the staff, the facility was clean and fun, and my pup came home smiling. (...if dogs smile...) The cons would be that (1) they're not cheap (though competitive with others in the Houston area), (2) they charge extra for daycare when you board which makes it even more expensive (who could leave their pup in a crate all day if they're feet away from all the fun?!?) and (3) there were two extra charges when I picked him up. ($25 for a temperament test and $25 for a bath) In the end all the costs aren't too much for the service, its just a good idea to tell the customer so don't feel like you're putting one over on us. Other than that I hope they'll be a place for me to bring my pups for a while to come! read more

would give negative stars if I could. they accept too many dogs, to the point where many are neglected while under their care. our dog always seemed terrified as we entered, whereas at our previous daycare/boarder she was thrilled to go. often came home with scratches on her face after a stay. we kept giving them a try, time and time again, and I wish we wouldn't have done that. put your money elsewhere to ensure your fur babies are well-cared for and come home healthy. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a new groomer, I found this place it was very pleasant and welcoming. Pinot looked so good I will definitely be going back. I believe in supporting the Community shops so no big box stores for me if I can help it. read more

The "Resort" is everything and more for dogs. The owner, Jamie, is so caring, not only for the dogs that have owners but she also works hard keeping rescued dogs that are waiting for foster and forever homes. The Resort has a wonderful doggie daycare that has happy dogs everywhere. There is inside and outside play areas and individual areas that are VERY clean. The dog food is very good quality and the staff is caring and patient with each animal. Also, there is grooming ( at very reasonable prices) and a Veterinarian has an office onsite. This is a class act place! You can be assured high quality and peace-of-mind for a reasonable price. For just daycare or grooming to long term boarding Paws Pet Resort is the best around. Just got my dog groomed @ the Resort! So pleased! And my dog came back relaxed and happy, not stressed like other places I've taken him! Bonus! So inexpensive compared to other places. I did not have the greatest experience with this doggie daycare. I took my 2 year old dog there for his evaluation to see if he would fit in with the pack. I never received a call about how he was doing, so around lunch time I called to check in. The girl on the phone did not have an updated status on my dog, but she said they would call back. I finally got a call that he was fine 2 hours later. I was a little annoyed but did not think much of it. A few weeks later, we boarded my dog over the weekend. When he returned to us, he had kennel cough (despite having received the Bordatella vaccine and both flu strain vaccines). I understand that this is a risk I agreed to when exposing my dog to this environment. However, I called to let the manager know...as I assumed they would want to disinfect/be on the lookout, but they seemed to not care at all. Overall, I was displeased and after two days of my dog coughing and spitting up constantly throughout the night...I won't be taking him back here. I get the impression that this place is composed of a lot of smaller indoor rooms where they group dogs based on size and temperament. They then stay in this indoor room most of the day, from what I gather. I was wanting a place where my dog would spend most of his time outside, playing with other dogs, running around, getting his energy out, etc. But he seemed to come back from this daycare with remaining energy. read more

Most amazing groomers I've ever known! Ms. Jaime groomed our Persian cat w/out hesitation and if you've ever needed a cat groomed you know how difficult it is to find a groomer that deals with cats. Chris took care of my 140lb black lab better than I couldve imagined. Boudreaux, my lab, has 8 more appts coming up and Beau, the cat, still thinks he's the king in "pamper me" land lol My family and all our pets have found our forever grooming home! Found this amazing establishment while living in Oak Forest. Now we live an hour away in cypress and I'm still driving here for all my pups needs because IT'S THAT GOOD! We would not board our dog anywhere else. It is hard enough having to leave your pup behind to travel, but such a relief knowing he is in good hands and receiving plenty of attention and care. You can tell that all of the staff at paws really do care about all of the dogs. They know them all by name and if you're lucky they'll post a photo or video of your pup on facebook while you're gone so you can see how much fun they're having. Paws Pet Resort is simply the Best! We recently left our 8 month old kitten Sasha at Paws Pet Resort for 6 days while we traveled on vacation. Prior to choosing Paws, I had researched several other pet boarding facilities in Houston. Most were nice, but kept the animals in small Veterinary type holding cages. By contrast, Paws Pet Resort uses very large clean kennels, with plenty of room for the cat to roam. In fact, Sasha stayed in a "Suite," which is a full-size human bedroom, complete with windows, a couch, pillows, blankets, toys, and a cat tree/scratching post. It also has a video camera you can use to check in on your pet over the internet. (Be careful not to watch the video feed too often though, lest you get jealous watching the Paws staff playing with your cat...) I had not found such a "homey" setup elsewhere - and the daily fee was very competitive with the other Pet Boarders in Houston who use small wire cages. They fed Sasha and cleaned the room better than I do at home! I can not begin to say enough about Jamie and Jason, the owners. They are incredibly professional, patient, warm, and truly caring - and they are fun! They display all of the competencies one seeks in a Pet sitter. I wanted to share the great news to everyone. I have been taking my dog to Paws Pet Resort for nearly a 3 years. They treat my dog "Redbud" so well and bathe her in special Oatmeal shampoo for her dry skin. She is so happy to be going every other week! The most important thing for me was finding a place that would care for my dog just as I would and this place as exceeded my expectations! I seriously couldn't ask for a more loving environment to put my dog a few times a week while I'm at work. On our first day, the owner even called me to give me an update on how my dog was doing, which really reassured me my dog was enjoying it, in good hands, and made me feel valued. I also love how often they post pictures and videos! I look forward to catching glimpses of my pup to see all the fun she's having. When she comes home from daycare, she's completely exhausted from playing all day so I know she had a good time. Aside from being the most affordable daycare I've found, they also offer boarding and grooming services that are reasonably priced. I asked them to give my dog a bath while she was at daycare one day - it was so convenient and my dog came back smelling great! Overall, I can't see myself ever going to another daycare and would highly recommend this place to anyone. The facility was spacious and very clean and I liked that the dogs had room to free roam. This place is the only place my babies will ever go for boarding! Jaime, Jason & her whole staff are awesome and treat every single animal like it is their own. Not only is the entire staff amazing but the place is extremely clean and awesome with their state of the art sanitizing system. The dogs in daycare are always super happy and well taken care of. The vet is also highly recommended and very knowledgeable. I took my dog here to get groomed and he's been groomed at other places a few times and was fine, but when I picked him up he was still WET. I couldn't believe it. He's a shepherd and has a double coat so when he's even a little wet, he sheds even MORE than if he were dry and that's A LOT. Paid a fortune and wasn't pleased with the results overall. Nails were still long and he didn't even smell good. I take him to Dirty Hairy Dog Wash and do it myself. read more

I am very happy with Paws Pet Resort! I have been taking my fur baby there for grooming and they always do a great job. She is in and out in less than 3 hours each time which is MUCH better than the 7 it took at Petco once (no joke). I also had to board my girl back in April when it flooded in Houston and they did an excellent job coordinating with me and a friend who was picking her up for me since I couldn't get to her. I was stuck in Chicago and they even offered to keep her for an extra night if my friend could not get to her... FOR FREE. These people are truly excellent. I have boarded my two huskies here since Jamie opened her new facility. They get lots of time outside and seem content to stay. There have been times when they've had extended stays of up to two weeks, and Jamie and Jason are careful not to let the dogs get worried about my return. They have to time the exit bath carefully, because the male husky won't leave the kennel after his bath, thinking that I am arriving any minute. They treat the dogs as if they were their own. It means everything to have that peace of mind when I have to board them. read more

I've been bringing my dogs to Jamie for years. She is incredibly in tune with the personalities and needs of the various dogs that come into her facility. She makes certain that her employees meet high standards. The place is clean and suits the needs of my active dogs, who go there for good play sessions.They have a big, shaded outdoor play area, and indoor rooms that meet the needs of every size dog. If you are looking for a great place for you pet, PPR is the best dog boarding and day care in town. Jamie and her staff are absolutely awesome. Their hours are great, especially being available on Saturday and Sunday. I use PPR for boarding, day care and the grooming of my two Beagles, we call it going to school. They get so excited and love being there! All of the staff are caring dedicated people who love animals. One of my dogs is thunder phobic and needs medication if it storms and they go above and beyond to keep him stress free. read more

I have taken my dog here 3-4 times over the past year. They did not feed her the food I brought one time so I figured I would give them another shot. Yesterday I watched the owner take out the food I brought from my dogs bag before she gave it back to me. She did not feed my dog her special food but took the food out of my bag to make it look like she did. This is unacceptable in my eyes. My dog is my child to me and I find this dishonest and will never use her again. My dog is now at home scatching all over because she was allergic to the food that she was fed there. read more
