We were impressed by this facility. I almost went to a competitor, but the competition didn't allow tours of their facility. Here at Paws, we were told to simply drop in for a tour. That sold me, they had nothing to hide. The first time we met the owner's mother, not some 18-yr old kid. The second time we toured, I met the owner himself. The facility was clean and relatively odor free. They are strict, not even allowing a tour if there is an accompanying dog, unless you bring up to date shot records. I also liked that, it prevents a sick dog from infecting others dogs. The fees are very reasonable, and I found the pens very clean and more spacious that the competition. They allowed our Yorkie to be boarded with a friend's Yorker so they would have less separation anxiety. All in all, an excellent experience! read more

Only putting three stars because of the surprise charges that were added. When I walked in to drop Layla off. I specifically told them that she would not be needing a bath and that I had just given her one that same exact day. The next thing I know I'm being charged for a bath that I was told was included in any stay that is more than three nights. I have a really big problem being charged for some thing that I specifically told them not to give her a bath. She's not even supposed to be using regular shampoo because she has to use a topical antibiotic shampoo. All in all the people there are very nice and sweet, which is why I didn't give anything less than 4 stars. I'll be taking Layla back with very specific instructions to not give her a bath. So I love this place. I originally had my first dog, and I was a little bit skeptical about the daycare experience, but I broke my first dog Boogie there and he absolutely loved it. They tired him out, which is definitely needed. Not only were they there when my dog was alive, but when he passed away abruptly, I was devastated but they gave me an awesome photo of him and I have it in my room today. Do not take your pets to Paws Pet Resort. My dog, Banana, was under their care for 10 days when I was out of town. During the 10 days, he was not given any day care time as requested and kept in his cage majority of the day without exercise and obviously was extremely under fed. The pictures I'm attaching are a photo posted by the facility on their Facebook page the day after arriving. He looks healthy and has no scar or scratches. When picked up from the facility they were extremely unprofessional and rude to my friend picking him up and his ribs, spine, and hip bones were all showing - looking as if he was practically starved and with a scar on his nose. I emailed throughout the week to ensure he was getting the day care time that he has gotten every time he's stayed with them before. The email was ignored - with the only emails answered about how they were being paid, not the treatment of my dog. The staff has been rude on multiple occasions and I have had bad experience with them in the past as well. Would not recommend this facility to any pet owner as there are far better options in Houston and nearby. read more

I called them ahead of time, emailed them all my vaccine and intake documents several days before, yet they waited until the day I dropped off my dog to tell me my vaccination records were insufficient. PPR is my go-to spot for my dog and foster dog to get groomed. Yesterday I dropped off my foster dog who could use a good summer shaving. When I picked him up, I literally did not recognize him. He looked so beautiful, clean and do you to the shaving you could now see the spots below his long white hair. I think even he knew how gorgeous he looked. I highly recommend PPR for doggy daycare and boarding as well. Their prices are reasonable, my dog is happy and their hours on the weekend are super helpful. It's especially nice to be able to pick up your pet on Sunday 4-7 if you've just come back in from out of town instead of waiting until Monday. Never have I ever experienced poor customer service first thing walking into the morning. The older grumpy lady who sits at the front desk was nothing short of welcoming. I'm not sure how I'm suppose to trust my fur baby in the care of a facility when someone who doesn't know how to be polite, honest, explanative, and quite honestly, speak as if they would like to be spoken too. Her name is Deanne and is very poor at communication skills, organizing, and ultimately being a decent human being. Not only did I have a grooming appointment scheduled for the day, the FIRST second before I can even walk in and say GOOD MORNING in a happy tone (as a customer would do because that's NORMAL) , I see BIG BLACK INK covered in my dog's profile for expired vaccinations. This appointment was scheduled for several days and with working two jobs (one being a night shift position) I did not receive a reminder nor a confirmation that I was bringing in up to date vaccinations. Not only did this inconvenience my morning and week (had I received an email, friendly reminder) I would've gotten shots updated, but this completely ruined the chances of someone else's dog being able to get booked for grooming on the same day. Talk about poor management. It's sad to say the only reason I took my dog there was for the groomer, Leslie, but unfortunately she has to lose business because her front desk staff cannot get it together for her nor organize her customers well. If I could rate this, I would give negative stars but that's not an option. I say that because sometimes these dogs are all some people have and to be putting your TRUST in others to make it a positive, welcoming, understanding, LOVING experience for your dog, it is quite the opposite. If I can't expect a human who can't even speak in a polite manner to ANOTHER human, how can I quite possibly fathom that same human to speak kindly to an animal. Completely unacceptable and inappropriate for a "PET RESORT". Sounds pretty stressful to me. Let this be a reminder to all business owners with front desk staff: REGARDLESS of what amazing employee is in the back behind the desk, the first person the customer sees and speaks with will determine everything. And to those of you who HATE their jobs, just like Deanne does, do us and yourself a favor and quit. Don't make everyone else suffer just because you're miserable. And you best believe if this is the only review to be left on a social platform, think again. Word of mouth spreads faster than wild fire. read more

My cats got fleas after staying the weekend here. The second I dropped them off I knew it was very unclean. I had them stay for 2 nights in the "cat suite" which has a camera to watch them. Every time I checked, I never saw a litter box even after I had called to ask twice about it. When I dropped them off, it was very UNCLEAN. There were spiders on the ground, the couch had hair all over it as if they have never vacuumed it. They did have plenty of toys for them but the cat tree or couch must have had fleas. I know they don't clean between cats because when I let mine out of the crate into the room I heard hissing under the couch and there was another cat from the adjoined room next door. They had closed the attached door right before I arrived meaning cats had been roaming in there minutes before mine had gone. Thus meaning they do not properly clean the suites. read more

Updated review 2018 - Paws Pet Resort has expanded and has now moved next door to a bigger building. My dogs board there regularly when I go out of town and go for daycare every other day. They are boarding there right now and this trip, I booked their newly opened luxury suites. These suites have their own private yards, TVs in each suite and most importantly, a private camera that I was given access to once I dropped them off. First, the suites are wayyyy bigger so my dogs can stay and play together, without getting on each other's nerves. There are 3 round Costco beds in there right now, and there is still ample space for them to walk around. How do I know that? Cuz the CAMERAS!!! I have been obsessing over it all day, watching them hang out and get played with etc... I love it so much. Now I don't need to call them to check on my dogs and I can just log in the app and see a live view of what's going on! And the best part of it all, it's at a reasonable cost - especially if you have more than 1 dog. read more

I've been bringing my dog here for the last year and a half and I am continuously happy with the care that Paws Pet provides him! Boarding is super easy, they have all of the required vaccinations you need online so that is helpful, you just have to make an appointment via phone (there is no online booking system). We just recently starting going to doggy day care which has been awesome! My pup comes home very tired and noticeably more comfortable playing with and approaching other dogs, which is great because my dog is pretty shy. He also comes home a little dirty from playing outside - but if your dog isn't dirty did they really have fun? They also have grooming services which we've had done during the boarding stays. We love this place! We've boarded our dog here twice now (each for a week long visit), and have used the doggy day care multiple times. Jamie and the rest of the staff are wonderful. I absolutely get the sense that they care for our pup just as much as we do. Our dog is our son, and the first time boarding him, I was so anxious and sad to leave him. Seriously in tears when we dropped him off the first time (boarding for a week while we were out of the country). Jamie made me laugh, was reassuring and even encouraged us to call and check in if we wanted, which we totally did, and they were super great about it.
