Dr. Mike explores all the possibilities, thoroughly investigates, and presents different options to help you decide on the best treatment for your cat in a logical manner... focused first and foremost on what is best for your cat but also in a very budget-focused manner. You always know the costs and treatment options (definitely get insurance for your cats, by the way). When one of our cats got sick over a weekend, we wasted hundreds of dollars at an emergency vet that didn't really know what they were doing. They took random X-rays that yielded no useful information. Nothing changed, and on Monday we were back at CCOV. Dr. Mike, in contrast, was methodical and immediately drilled down into what was going on. She made it seem so easy, so obvious. So a few months later, when another one of our cats got sick going into the weekend, we went straight to CCOV, saving ourselves a trip to the emergency vet because Dr Mike helped prepare us to care for our kitty over the weekend. In terms of regular visits, Dr. Mike and the CCOV team help our cats feel calm and comfortable, with everything from essential oils, towel wraps, and that special magic Dr. Mike has that somehow calms even our most neurotic kitty. Fortunately, the tests did not reveal a serious condition, although we did not receive a clear explanation of what had caused the bleeding. Obtaining copies of Ari's medical records also required repeated phone calls and more than a week of follow-up. Dr. Elizabeth MedVed recommended Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets OM and arranged access through the clinic's Purina Vet Direct account. The available wet-food options were primarily cases of 24 cans. Because cats can be very particular about food, we wanted to purchase a few individual cans and try the available authorized flavors before committing to a full and expensive case. We found individual cans at a local pet store, but the store required valid veterinary authorization. When we called Cat Care of Vinings, we were told that we could purchase the food only through the Vet Direct account created by the clinic. They would not provide us with a written authorization or approve a request from another retailer. We were not rejecting the veterinarian's dietary recommendation. We simply wanted the freedom to purchase smaller quantities from a retailer of our choice until we knew whether Ari would consistently eat the food. On August 25, 2026, we sent the clinic a formal written request asking for the authorization or confirmation that they would approve a request submitted directly by our chosen retailer. As of Friday, August 28, after allowing three business days for a response, we have received neither the requested authorization nor any reply from the clinic. We found this experience unnecessarily restrictive, unhelpful, and disappointing, particularly after the cost of Ari's evaluation and the repeated follow-up previously required to obtain his medical records. Pet owners should be treated with transparency and should receive a response when making a reasonable written request concerning their pet's recommended diet. I will update this review if Cat Care of Vinings responds and resolves the matter professionally.

We have been having him and loving on him as we always do. As of today Zeno is back trying to get into the demo area but it is cover, taped off the contractors have to go out the kitchen exit and come around. Zeno goes back to Cat Care in two weeks.

My dog has very long nails and at that point the time to trim them short is when he's under anesthesia because they bleed and I didn't want him in pain. I contacted the vet office and asked them about cleaning his teeth (requires anesthesia) and trimming his nails short. I was assured both of these could happen. 1) I asked the staff to call me back with an estimate for the anesthesia, nail trim and teeth cleaning. The staff failed to do this. 2) Later I get an email asking for a deposit for the procedure, I paid the deposit. 3) The day I took him in for the procedure, I reiterated to the vet staff out front that I wanted his nails trimmed short.. She assured me the vet would be notified, they could do this. Big mistake trusting that. 4) I come in later to pick him up, they hand me a bill for over $1200 and his nails had barely been touched. They even charged me for the nail trim which you couldn't even tell. I was pissed, I asked why they didn't do what I had asked while he was sleeping, the tech had the nerve to say "We didn't want to see him bleed". So $1200 later they failed to trim his nails down when it wouldn't have caused him as much or any pain because the tech didn't want to see blood.. Then I see on the discharge form they wrote that "He has always had long nails". I wouldn't trust them to do anything they say unless you pull the Vet out in the lobby and talk to her directly. Does the vet care about pets, yes she does. The problem is you don't get to talk to the vet, you have to deal with the techs and they will say anything to get you to shell out a lot of money.

Unfortunately, I really feel like the phone call we had only made the situation worse as her empathy came across as ingenuine and made me feel like I was being gaslighted for the entire 16 minutes we were on the phone. I chose Arkle because they had very minimal one-star reviews on both Google and Yelp while also looking to be the highest rated in our area of Smyrna. Looking back, I really wish I would have paid more attention to the other review left on their Google page about a friends cat that ended up having to be put down because I really thought I was about to be in the same situation two days ago. My initial frustration with Arkle is that they quoted us $170 for our first visit which included puppy shots and the exam fee. I was told every visit after would be $120 since it would no longer include the exam fee but honestly it didn't matter since both quotes were incorrect anyways. We ended up paying $210 for the first shots and exam. I told the girl about the initial price I was quoted which she then told me their prices had changed since I called due to inflation. By all means I understand inflation right now so while that (if truthful) was the case I was fine with it but I do think it would have been the more ethical decision to honor the original price I was quoted a week or two prior. My puppy started getting swollen eyes a few days after our visit and the woman on the phone let me know she would leave a message for the vet but I was never called back. I took him in first thing on Monday morning when they opened at 7:30AM where I had to leave him there all day since they had no open appointments. They ended up giving him an exam and then gave him a Benadryl and steroid shot which with all the other charges left us with another bill over $200 and seems to be a customary total every time you step foot in this place. Needless to say our puppy progressed to only get worse and began blistering at his chin so I texted them photos (which I will shout out Grace and appreciate her for responding after business hours) where I was then told to take him to an emergency vet. Before getting a response I made a quick Google search to see if I could find anything that might answer what my puppy had going on and found the closest diagnosis/match to be Puppy Strangles. After being told he needed to be taken somewhere asap I went to one of their recommendations (Urgent Vet) where I left with a $170 bill and was told my puppy either had an auto immune disease, reaction, or mite from the steroid shot. Sunday morning came and my puppy continued to get significantly WORSE, having a face so swollen it looked like he ate a bee hive full of all the bees in the state of GA. We ended up calling a friend who told us to go to Paces Ferry Animal Hospital. I called them first thing Monday morning and they got me in only an hour and a half after calling! I cannot begin to explain the mental and physical toll the past week has had on me and my family but I left PFAH so unbelievably grateful and happy that my puppy was FINALLY going to get better and had a diagnosis! The vet at PFAH told me as soon as she looked at my puppy she knew he had Puppy Strangles, which funny enough the owner of Arkle told me she also knew that once looking at his file but yet she never called to inform me of her diagnosis at any point until she finally called me after asking to talk to her TWO days in a row. I am not only frustrated but also INCREDIBLY disappointed in how my puppy and I were treated at Arkle. I really feel like they were trying to capitalize off of my emotions by looking at my puppy as a dollar sign. I wanted to write a really detailed review for anyone like me who choses who they give their business to off of their reviews so be careful and know that you might be able to save your pet and money by going somewhere else.

They asked me to bring her in, and they always bring her out of view, even for an exam which I found odd. But this time, she came back into the room fully traumatized. The vet had pulled a few top stitches and mentioned a staple. All I know is I could not get near that area without her freaking out when we left. Also, he was concerned she might have a deep infection and told me that we needed to get a culture. He also wanted me to buy topical antibiotics for her incision. He walks out and the medical tech walks in and tells me that's going to be $200 for a culture. First of all, she's not running a fever, there was no significant redness in that area, nor pus just weeping, and no additional swelling from that time I took her home from being spade. Being medical, I definitely questioned this culture and decided to hold off until four days later when I would be coming back to have the rest of the stitches removed on top of knowing that I was using a topical antibiotic in the interim. The female vet that I saw for follow up was very kind and informed me that my dog was having a type of allergic reaction or sensitivity to that particular suture material. That made a lot of sense to me and actually once the sutures removed, she healed up beautifully. So i not has my medical background I would've unnecessarily spent an extra $200. I'm also quite shocked. He did not recognize what she immediately told me. Also, the medication that cost over $30 was pumped into a medication bottle. So they have this big bottle in the back that they're just pumping into a bottle and then way upcharging. Nice. Fast forward to today. My dog ate something she shouldn't have and I tried to get it out of her mouth but she ate it before I could get to it. I called the vet and they told me that's emergent and could I be there in 30 minutes. I said I would call right back. I called back and said it was going to be, about 35 minutes to get there and that would put me there about 530, and they close at six. They told me that that was too late. I said you guys told me this is an emergency, and you're refusing to see her? Wow, amazing care! He didn't even apologize or show great concern. I thankfully found a vet MUCH closer to my house and they were amazing. Shame on this place for trying to overcharge for things they shouldn't, for trying tomaking negligent charges, and as far as care here? What a joke! I will never step foot in this place again and my friend who referred me is also leaving after hearing what I had to say. Too many options to settle for this!
