One dog is 20lbs and the other is 50lbs. We are not exactly sure why one would be more than the other. Also, they don't allow pickups on Sunday so we are forced to board our dogs another night which is really disappointing. Why not set up a small window for pick up on Sunday with a small charge and maybe limit the check outs? You are there taking care of the animals anyway so what's the big deal? We would gladly look past the double charge for our larger dog if you could make an adjustment in your availability. But really, what is the difference in price for anyway? It's not like there was grooming, food or any other service that would require 'more' of anything....

This is by far our favorite! The other dog resort that might come close is a similar concept outside Louisville, KY. Small high quality care not big business with volume discounts. There's a place for hug volume and big discount but I don't think my dog's care is that place. Castle Creek has limited people hours which helps to keep the focus on caring for our dogs. I'm so grateful for that focus! Yes, I would like to pick up on Sunday but we just plan our trips around the posted hours of business. We do NOT view it as a fault of the business. We actually respect the fact that they give their employees family time on Sunday. We ask the hours of operation so we know how to plan our trips and dog pick ups . Utah, Dez, Dayshia and the tech team in the back truly care! When we drop off our dog, who has separation anxiety, she cuddles into their arms peacefully. When we pick her up, she is happy to see us but not stressed at all from her stay. It's so amazing that we can leave her without concern of her separation anxiety messing up her intestinal track. She comes home healthy and regular! She is on a strict diet and they clearly carefully adhere to it! One last quick note: our little dog loves the people of Castle Creek, when she sees her overnight bag, she starts to do a dance and runs to the back door to get in the car! I trust them to board and care for her when I'm out of town, along with keeping up with all her meds, which has always been an issue at boarding and daycare facilities. Even when I'm just swinging by to pick up meds, they always ask how she's doing and talk about spending time with her when she boards. I'm also super impressed with their transparency with payment and pricing. You're never going to be surprised with bills; they talk you through any and all costs and bring you an estimate to sign before they proceed.

Before moving to Texas one of our fur babies would bark her lil head off the entire time she would be at the groomer so much so that I could hear her outside when I got out of my car. And due to that her baby would just shake. When I picked them up from MAH from grooming I did not hear her and asked them did y'all sedate her?! And they asked who gave her name and they laughed and said "Noooo....why do you ask?" I explained to them and they said no she's been fear the whole time! That enough was well worth it. But everyone was so kind, smiling, and very obvious they love and care about all pets! And it's that way from the desk staff to the techs, to the veterinarians! I'm not sure on everyone's names to call them out so I have to lump everyone together! We love them all! I was also surprised this last time I picked up my babies from grooming when Mya apologized for my sr dog's mouth not being groomed very well because he would not cooperate. He looked great as always! I couldn't see anything wrong! And really if there had been I understand because I know how he's started doing me the older he gets. For grooming customers who have ridiculous expectations I say this try and do what you want them to do yourself with the outcome you expect and then your attitude WILL and SHOULD change. And if so and you've been rude and ugly then you NEED to apologize!

Other places, don't have the attention, facilities, and in many ways, personalized attention we receive at the Rover Resort. We leave them with the peace of mind that they will be treated as guests at the resort and not just as another boarding place. The staff is amazing, they are customer oriented, respectful with their guests and owners and overall, you can see and feel their goodwill and commitment to ensure our pets have the best experience. Our puppies are now much older, and they are treated with love and care. As long as we are allowed to enjoy our puppies, we will have them stay at Rover Resort. This way, we can enjoy our vacation with peace of mind. They really are the best of the best.

It's also a great opportunity to check out the facility. I had talked to Travis on the phone and met him when we came for our evaluation interview. Travis is a true dog whisperer! You can see that he truly loves dogs and knows how to handle them. Our rescue dog, Ollie is a border collie and loves to run. He's also an escape artist and after seeing the secure fencing felt that he would be totally safe at LSDR. At home Ollie wears the Whistle device on his collar. It tracks his location and activity distance. I asked if he could wear it during his stay there and they were so accommodating! They even charged up the device for us! We saw a couple of photos they posted of Ollie on Facebook. I could totally relax while we were out of town because I knew Ollie was having so much fun. Our Whistle App showed that he ran 4 miles his first day! I highly recommend Lone Star Dog Ranch!!

The lady upfront did not greet me, she walked away from me after minutes of me waiting for help,ignoring me, and I had to continue to wait for another worker to help us. Once they brought my dog back, I noticed how shaky she was. My dog had been to other groomer places and always had feedback that she was quiet and friendly. But for some reason, one of the workers complained that my dog was screaming the whole time, and even her leg being lifted up, she was screaming. That isn't normal at all, and not only that, when they first took her away, they put her in a back room to a cage with other dogs barking around. Now since I had my dog back, she's been shaky at times, and flinches when I try to pick her up. There was blood out of her mouth, and the eye area is raw, and hurts whenever touched.
