This is for anyone who is considering any sort of business with this establishment. As you read through these reviews please don't disregard any of the bad reviews because I can promise you that they are all very accurate! It's been 4 years and I still cringe each time I have to drive by this business! We chose Ace to board our Ally for 3 days during Spring Break. I was very clear how important is was to keep a close eye on her to be sure she was eating and drinking. She was 18yrs old but still healthy. She just never did like to be left .(they never do) They were told she wasn't to play with any of the other dogs but still need to make sure she stayed Mobil throughout each day. Perfectly reasonable requests. Well, I called on day 2 and was told she was doing great and had just been up walking around and was eating. The thing I was most concerned about. We came home early enough on the 3rd day to pick her up. What we found was nothing close to the dog we had left. I'm sharing a pic of Ally when we dropped her off and pics of her 3 days later. She wasn't able to walk out. My husband had to carry her out. We took her straight to the Emergency Animal Hospital. They said she was dehydrated among several other issues. They kept her for 24hrs and gave her meds and fluids trying to save her life. They weren't able to save her. She developed sepsis. We were told if she had been given fluids right away when they realized she wasn't drinking she wouldn't have had to die in this terrible way. Same as other reviews I have read we were told that there would be a veterinarian on call if there were any issues. The staff could have even called my veterinarian and someone would have come. But, nothing was done and on top of that I KNOW I was lied to when I called to check on her. Yes, our baby was 18yrs old and things happen ( which is what someone said to me when I told them she had died) but, if Ally had been properly cared for she would not have been in the shape she was in when we picked her up. I can't emphasize enough not to use this business no matter the age of your furbaby!! It's not worth the risk! If I can keep even a few families from boarding their pets here, I will continue to share my story! Tying to post pics, but can't for some reason....

    Sandra is our groomer
    Melinda S.

It has taken me nearly a year to re-establish a new relationship and trust another groomer after the last place I worked with took on new owners and no longer cared about quality control. I have been through 4 groomers in the Plano/ Allen Texas area. I recommend Sandra, the groomer at Ace. She loves her job, she follows your instructions and my PapiPoo is excited to see her every time which is a sign in itself that my Sasha loves this place. Although my review is specifically about their grooming services, this is the cleanest and nicest boarding facilities I've ever seen. It has new kennels, outdoor pool, an inside play area and a very caring and accommodating staff. If I were to leave my Sasha anywhere I would feel totally confident that she would be taken care of at Ace. Again, all the dogs coming in are wagging their tails, they recognize and greet the staff like family and have no problem watching their parents go out the door.

There are so many ways Kathlyn has gone above and beyond. Six months ago, we went out of the country, and had a cat get very sick while we were gone. He had to be euthanized. She took him to the hospital, and stayed with him the whole time. Now she is taking care of our horse too. She only has to go check on her once a week, but she has been going more frequently just because she cares and working with her!! I could go on and on, honestly. With Sugars Pet Sitting, you get more than just a pet service. You are getting a team that will love and care for your animals!! Hands down the best pet sitting company around.

I've never left my cat Archie for a week long trip before, and I was worried about who could watch him. After seeing some reviews, Sugar's looked like a good bet - and... blackjack! Every time Kathlyn came, she sends a journal of what your pet was doing/what she did along with multiple photos. She also noticed I didn't have enough food to refill after the 5th day. When I told her where it was, she came back the next day to check on him (after checking with me) FREE OF CHARGE!! Can't hype Sugar's up enough. I'll be a return customer.

We never hesitated to leave her in Kelly's care. Whether for a quick overnight business trip, or a two-week European vacation, Kelly was always there to feed, walk, play with and love on our baby girl. More importantly, she went the extra mile. Quite simply, Emmy loved Kelly as family, and so did we. When Emmy was diagnosed with cancer, Kelly never hesitated in wanting to continue to care for her. Of course, this meant lots of extra effort, including more pills than one could count, being extra careful with walks, and the occasional clean-up of accidents. Kelly never acted as if this was any bother - she was just caring for one of her own. Emmy battled cancer bravely for 3.5 years, reaching remission twice. Towards the end, after we suspended treatment and begun focusing on quality of life, Kelly stayed involved. She would come to visit Emmy, and the two of them were like two peas in a pod. The bond they had was special. When Emmy passed, Kelly shared in our grief and was quick to remind us of the love that our baby girl had for us, and the love she had for Emmy. Indeed, there is something special about Kelly. I can't quite put it into words, other than to say I am incredibly grateful to have found Kelly, and would not hesitate to trust her with a family member again.

We're going to be moving soon and Kelly is honestly one of the biggest things we will miss about living in Allen.

**WARNING!!** Before You Trust The Mutt Puddle With Your Dog -- Read This First!!!…read more As a new customer, I recieved that red carpet treatment that makes you think you've finally found "the place." The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. My situation started with a grooming appointment. The Korean cut I requested wasn't what I received. However, that was not my biggest concern. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. Accidents happen. A mistake and owning it does not automatically lose a customer. The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund as a gesture of respect. Before writing this review, I posted this scenario online in a small dog group. I asked a few simple questions: Would you be upset by these injuries? Is "sorry for the miscommunication" enough? Should a refund be offered? Would you return? The majority of the people who responded to the survey are dog lovers, breeders, rescue shelter owners, show dog handlers, vets and professional groomers who unanimously agreed that they would be upset and that they would not return. Several professionals commented that while accidents can happen, transparency and accountability matter. One comment stood out above all the others: "When I read the salon's response, I don't see a groomer saying, 'I'm concerned about Tina.' I see a business saying, 'You can't prove this was us.'" That perfectly captured what I had been struggling to put into words for this review. David Vargas from TMP responded to that online post. Instead of empathy, there were disclaimers. Instead of a heartfelt attempt to make things right, there was a carefully crafted argument about why I shouldn't feel the way I do. He accused me of painting the business in a bad light. No. I simply described what happened and how it was handled. When your instinct is to defend your reputation instead of showing concern for an injured animal, the picture pretty much paints itself. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. One of the most concerning things I discovered after this experience was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. Reading this after my little girl was injured helped me understand why David Vargas response was defensive .. rather than showing (on a case by case basis) concern for my dog and respect for me as a valuable client. I understand that policies exist BUT they should protect everyone involved, not one sided AND they should never replace compassion, responsibility, and concern for an animal's well-being. New and existing customers should read their policies carefully and decide for themselves whether that reflects the kind of care they want for their pets. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model.
