The last vet that I loved for years was no longer able to see my dog without waiting more than a week for an appointment, which is not ideal when your pup has an issue you want addressed and urgent care is obviously extremely expensive. I was nervous to search for a new office, but have been so pleased with High Point! We have seen both vets and both are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's always an efficient visit where we don't have to wait for long and it's easy to schedule an appointment. The staff makes my dog and I feel at home and even remember him when we visit. I will say that prices at this office are slightly higher than my previous vet, but it's worth the extra to be seen so quickly and even be closer to home! read more

I have a 5 year old Husky/Shepard who did not like the Texas weather. My poor husky was biting, chewing, scratching all her fur off. We have had Banfield for years and the doctors were of no help or had solutions. This place and the doctors came highly recommended by a friend and we are incredibly happy with Dr. Liska and the staff. He looked for solutions and staff was attentive. I brought my dog here for grooming twice, first time they called inform he was ready. When i picked him up looked like someone who was not a professional groomed him. I decided to give them another chance, well this time no one called to let me know he was ready and when i called i received nothing but attitude from Kayla. Also this time he still looked a mess! I called yesterday about 1pm to inquire about grooming and vaccinations for my little dog. And was spoken to rudely by a raspy voiced girl over the phone who kept cutting me off with her smart alec answers. Being passive aggressive is not ok at work. So I said to myself that's just one person, I will not let one person ruin it for this place. But then when I dropped my my dog off this morning at 830am. Already nervous because we are trying a new place. The lady greets us with a greeting as if she is annoyed we where there. Nobody greets my dog to make him feel comfortable leaving me. A different girl who put the noose already his neck didn't even greet him or pet him. The vet we come from they are very kind the entire process. Spending atleast 5 minutes or more with you and your pet. They ask how you like things done, history allergies, etc in order to get to know you and your pet. Not here!! I was nervous when I let the girl take my dog away. I asked the annoyed front desk girl with glasses do I need to sign anything. She then says yes if u wait a minute! ( I stood in silence) and I thought to myself geez excuse me sorry for asking but maybe you should tell me people what is going to happen as your doing things they in-turn won't ask you questions. Then she proceeds to try to get me to buy more vaccines from them. And at this point I'm Livid and can't be leave how rude they are here. And I say no just want is needed for grooming today. So then I leave and realize down the road they didn't even ask me how I wanted his hair cut!! Outside of rude behavior and unfriendliness to me or my dog. The place was clean and did not smell. I don't know how the Dr. Because he didn't come out or possibly wasn't even there yet. but I hope he is better than the poor staff he hired. We will never return to this place. And last but not least they didn't ask about allergies or past history. What a poor decision I made to bring my dog here. I'm very disappointed. Update!!! I call to inform them of how I would like his hair cut and she proceeds to tell me up I can not make that decision!!! (Now I'm crying at his point) and can not believe this is the 4th person who is rude. What place in America tells you that you cannot choose to keep your dogs beard because he is being sedated and he can't control his head. I'm telling you don't touch his head!!! Then she argues with me on not cutting his beard. I'm like are you SERIOUS RIGHT NOW. I have the to right to choose my dogs hair cut and I'm paying you! I just said forget it and turned around and picked up my dog. This is unbelievable. read more

Then by luck or the grace of a higher power I found High Point Animal Hospital. Dr. Jason Liska and his staff take care of my pets as if they were their own. Their professionalism, attention to detail and compassion is literally without compare. He and the staff treat me and my little ones as if we are family. Medical care at any vet can be expensive. Wherever you go be honest and state what is and is not affordable. Today I spoke to Taylor who printed out a cost of future procedures for 2 of my dogs and she recommended ways to save money. If you have to spend money on pet care, why not have the best staff care for your pets. If you love your pet, DON'T bring them here. It's not the place it used to be. I brought my dog for boarding on a Wednesday for pickup the following Tuesday. I received a call that my dog had a limp. I asked if I could pick him up that day. When I did Dr. Liska said it was probably due to a knee issue and he would get better. Although he did progress, I had to re-board about a month later. My statement to the staff was, I'd like to pick him up in the same shape. I was then told when he was last there, he was injured by getting out of bed. They told me NOTHING of this when I picked him up. I then asked if there was a possibility of an injury (not just his knee) why no x-ray was taken.. RESPONSE... WE ONLY DO THAT IF THE LEG IS DANGLING.... He apologized THAT MY DOG IS NOW LAME, but blamed me that I didn't bring him back sooner.... Silly me, believing his initial assessment that the limp was due to age. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THEIR CARE. The rating is zero stars read more

I've been taking my cat to High Point ever since moving to Plano years ago. My cat has lots of health issues including Hyperthyroid, IBS, Pica and has a heart murmor. Dr Liska is friendly, resourceful, very skilled and extremely knowledgeable. I can count on High Point whenever my cat is not feeling so great. He may not enjoy going to the vet (then again what pet does) but he always bounces back after receiving quality service. The staff are equally as amazing and always greet my cat personally when I visit. They have also taken him in, for treatment and observation, even when I didn't have an appointment. They really do care about their customers and more importantly their customer's pets. I don't normally write reviews, anywhere, but I think it's important to give credit where credit is due... especially when I see other sub-par reviews from folks who simply don't know the organization. I should note that I am moving to Dallas soon but I refuse to take my cat anywhere else for vetrinary care. I am staying with High Point and that speaks for itself. read more

I brought my big, hairy dog in for grooming today. I fully expected her to have to be sedated, as she has scared away 3 other groomers. She isn't mean, she just does not tolerate the clippers. To my surprise, not only did Monica (the groomer) and her assistant accomplish the grooming without sedation, but my dog looks terrific! My husband and I are moving to California and were passing through Plano to visit family for the weekend. The boys were both due for a vaccine before we could board them and our older dog Dodger began limping and not wanting to put weight on his back foot. Dr. Staph and his team worked in both of our babies for a visit today. Dr. Staph is by far the most knowledgable and caring vet I have had the pleasure of meeting. He did a thorough examination of both our boys and explained everything that was going on. They could not have been kinder to our beloved four-legged child, Beamer during the many years we lived in Dallas. I have been taking my pet cat to High Point for years. I have received nothing more than stellar service and have complete trust in Dr. Liska. My cat has a chronic illness and it lands him in the vet more times than I would like. However, High Point always treats him wonderful and Dr. Liska's knowledge/care is top notch. I really like the Dr's but you have to be on top of the staff out front. My dog was given a shot that she wasn't due for and all I got was oo I'm sorry that was my fault. I was still charged for it. Thank god it wasn't something that serious but I am still very upset over it. If I didn't like the Dr's so much I would be looking for a new one. read more
