Great place. I love everything they stand for. Their menu is unique and creative. Their staff goes above and beyond and the cats are so cute. I definitely recommend stopping by for a visit. The only disappointment was that the lattes I had were very weak in flavor. I had the chai latte and matcha latte and they really just tasted like warm milk. I love this little café and its cat-themed charm. Don't overlook the beverages and baked goods either--they're truly standout. They have my favorite half-moon cookies in the entire area, with the perfect balance of moisture and cakey texture, rich without being overly sweet, and a frosting that's genuinely delicious. Their handcrafted shaken espresso is also excellent--the flavor really comes through, and you can tell they use quality beans. The café is home to both permanent resident cats and adoptable ones you can interact with, and the space is impressively clean and well-maintained. I always have a pawsitvitely delightful time when I visit this cat cafe. Located in the same building as M&T Bank at the Regional Market, Pawsitivity is a cat cafe full of color, whimsy, fun, and lots of feline friends! The cafe area itself is small- there are two tables where you can sit and drink your drink or eat your treat. The drink selections are often named after current or former cat residents. The drinks change seasonally and vary from a basic latte to homemade boba tea! The pastries options regularly include vegan and gluten-free choices. The cafe also has a little gift area- I have picked up a number of great earrings, stickers, and magnets there. There is a great emphasis on being LGBTQA+ friendly too! Now, the cat lounge itself! I would recommend making a reservation online. They take walk-ins but that's sort of hit or miss on wait times. Once you arrive you can check in, grab a treat if you'd like, and then have run down of the rules and procedures. In the alcove room you remove your shoes (gotta wear socks, FYI), clean your hands, and enter the cat room. There's a good chance you will be greeted by a cat immediately. Or several. So watch your step! There are usually about 10 or so residents, varying in age, some of whom are adoptable, and others who are permanent residents. There's a little black board with names and status and all, and the cats have name tags on their collars too. The space itself is fairly big- there's room for the cats to run around or hide away easily. It's easy to spy cats but they will come and find you. I love meeting the different cats and getting a sense of their personalities. I don't have pets myself, so it's always nice to visit the cat cafe and play with or pet the residents. I've met some curious young cats, sleepy kittens, and relaxed older cats. If you're considering adopting I think it's a nice way to have an intro. Or you go just to hang out with cats because cats are great. One of the things I love is that on the bookshelf you can find adoption stories of their past residents. There's also a rainbow bridge book to remember the cats who have passed on. It's one of my favorite things to flip through. Other neat features of Pawsitivity are they regularly host special events, such as movie nights, paint nights, board games days, crafting, yoga, etc. Car parking - it is a shared lot. On farmer's markets days the area can get a little wonky over there. Bike parking is not in place at this time. You can get there by bus (it's actually within walking distance of the Syracuse Regional Transportation Center). read more

The thought behind this place is incredible! Your first time coming in you might be a little confused, but you pay a small fee to go into the cat room and visit with the little kitties. I was a little disappointed, because I was looking to adopt, and it seemed that every cat I took an interest in, the owner considered a 'permanent resident' of the shop. When I was trying to inquire about the adoption process, it was more than confusing for me seeing as they work with different shelters nearby. Also, if the priority is getting cats adopted, they should have someone there to talk to potential adopters. I'm not sure what I was really expecting, but it felt almost like just a stop by for a lot of people without pets of their own and something to do with their kids. I wish there was a way for employees to spend a little more time in the cat room talking to those who might actually be interested in adopting but maybe the tea lounge took away from that a bit? Perhaps they should have a cat room attendant. Either way, this cat mom of 4 will opt out of looking for another furry friend at this shop. The coffee was pretty good, though. read more

This was a must visit place during my weekend getaway to Syracuse and it did not disappoint. The kitties here were super cute and fun to play with and give attention to. I love the passion the staff has for helping these babies to have the best lives they can and to find them furever homes. The cafe was really nice too with profits going toward helping and housing the kitties. The play area was very spacious and well kept with lots of toys and activities to play with the kitties. Their location near the huge market was nice as well and makes for easy parking and a nice visit when at the market. I loved this place and helping to support them and their mission. read more

Walking in here is an instant serotonin boost. The cafe part is snug, but there's a window to the cat room so that you can watch the kitties romp while you wait to order or sip your beverage. The decor is like a mini kitty museum. My favorite part is the vintage chairs with the cat print seats. Not gonna lie, I would totally put these in my kitchen. The cat room is spacious, and there is plenty of room to spread out and for the cats to frolic. I think typically there are around 10 cats, give or take, in the room at a time. At least one or two are permanent residents, and the rest are rescues available for adoption. The cafe is so relaxing, but I also kinda don't trust myself to hang out here for too long without neglecting my work to play with the cats, or getting seriously attached to a particular kitty. I think it's wonderful there are so many cat cafes popping up across the US and helping facilitate adoptions, this one especially! A helpful tip- the first time I stopped in I was a little confused about the setup. The side sign facing the road/Destiny isn't directly connected to a door. You have to enter by M&T bank and walk down the hall. However, there is a direct entrance on the other side of the building, nearest the CNY regional market. So much fun! I can't imagine anything better than sipping a latte and having a kitten to snuggle with!! I was really surprised by how clean the cat side of the cafe was: did not smell "like cats" at all and I did not walk out covered in cat hair (definitely had some, but was not head to toe a fur ball myself). The drinks and cookies were delicious and the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be back!!! read more

Not an exaggeration that this is the single greatest place on earth (full disclosure I left with a cat and he is truly my pride and joy) My boyfriend and I knew a cat cafe had opened in Syracuse, but we stumbled upon on it one Sunday morning and I was beyond obsessed. I love all animals, both a cat and dog person, and being a college student I am deprived of pet love. We went in and paid 15$ to spend an hour in the cat area (a great price and helps keeps the place running and feeding them!) and I could not have had more fun if I tried. Be warned: ALL CATS ARE ADOPTABLE!!!!! My boyfriend and I met our (now) cat O'Malley (who is sitting on my lap as I write this) and feel so lucky to have found him. (He is the orange and white one). The woman who owns it is so kind and has a true love for the animals she talks care of. I am an active follower of her Instagram, and love seeing all the adoptions (they are up to 40ish since September!). They are always getting new cats, so new ones to see weekly! Also, they accept donations so if you have any extra toys or food or anything to help out definitely drop off! Overall, such a fun, great, happy place and she was extremely kind, communicative and answered my millions of questions during the adopting process. I had such a fun time here! We booked an hour in the cat lounge for $9 per person. The cats were really sweet and playful, and it was so hard to not adopt one of them on the spot. I did not want to leave. The cafe part looks really nice. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't get anything, but I will definitely come back to play with the cats again! A note for people interested in adopting cats: Pawsitivitea is not responsible for adopting out the cats. They're a middle man that works with local rescues, so the adoptions of the cats at the cafe go through those organizations. Keep that in mind. read more

This is an amazing place to spend an afternoon and get a nice cup of coffee. The cafe has an area to order drinks and pastries, which are creative and delicious. You can take your drink into an area where the cats live. Some are for adoption and other are permanent residents, but all are lovely company. There are really interesting books/guides about cat behavior, so if you're a little hesitant about meeting cats, there are resources! It's also a great place to just observe the cats if you don't feel comfortable touching them (and some may not want to be touched right away anyway). I love this place! We booked a 1-hour spot in the cat lounge, and while we didn't get any food or drinks, everything looked delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Before they opened, we saw the staff member who was inside walking around putting down treats for the cats, which was so fun to watch! We felt very safe with COVID restrictions. Everything was clean, and all guests had to sanitize their hands before and after going into the cat lounge. They have an "ask about the mask" policy, where if you're fully vaccinated, all you need to do is ask if they want you to wear your mask. They said we didn't have to, but we chose to put ours on when some other customers entered the cat lounge with us. The kitties were so playful! Some were a little skittish around the people, but they love (LOVE) the feather toys. The staff warn against picking up the cats since it can set some of them off, which was a perfectly normal boundary to set and everyone followed it. They have a ton of books about cats, binders full of stories about their past adoptions, and the whole place looks like a great hangout for the animals. They all looked happy and healthy, which was wonderful to see. For only $9 per person to hang out with a bunch of cats for an hour, that was definitely money well spent. I'll be coming back here every time I go to Syracuse! Definitely check them out! read more
