I am a little reluctant to write this great review because she, Pam, is in hot demand and stays quite booked... But - fair is fair, she's awesome! Where to begin? 1st, when I initially contacted Pam, she politely told me that she is unfortunately too booked to take any new dogs at the moment (that should tell you something). I essentially pleaded with her to shave down my long-haired Rotty and she agreed... (Thank you!) You see, Dante has a recessive gene that cause him to have this long and unruly hair - it will actually form knotted dreadlocks and is very difficult to manage. Not to mention the fact that it keeps him too warm and likely too dusty. We were walking Dante on a trail in Pacifica when we met a woman with a dog (Ritter) that had hair like Dante's. She recommended Pam at Pawtastic. And so do I. I'm not sure if Pam is taking new clients or not, but she certainly did a great job on my baby boy. read more

Pam is just as fantastic as all the reviews say. This review is long overdue (even though it's sure to make her even more in demand than she already is) we've been seeing her for a couple years now. She's a wonderfully caring, gentle soul with a huge heart and we are so lucky to have her in our town! She let's me stay and chat with her while she bathes my gentle giant (which makes all of us more at ease). No having to wonder what they do in the back room that makes your dog hate it so much - like some other places. Nothing but the best for our fur-baby and Pam @ Pawtastic is the best! read more

Pam is nice, but super busy. It's hard to get an appointment with her, and she made Kuro look like a rat after giving him a "puppy cut". It was only $35, but my mom can groom him better than Pam. Sorry to give the first bad review, but it was truly a terrible look. It almost made me want to cry like a mom breaking down after seeing her child's first bad hair cut. read more

This is one of those reviews that I hesitate to write, simply because I don't want this hidden gem to become the victim of too many Yelpy Yelpers! Pam is incredible! We brought in our 60 lb Pittie and our 65 lb Lab for some de-stinking and nail trimming. I wasn't sure they were my dogs when I went back to pick them up - they were sparkling and so fresh and so clean clean (why am I thinking about that stupid song...ugh). Pam is sweet and really took amazing care of the dogs. They were a bit nervous when we dropped them off, but clearly Pam worked her magic because they were ready to hang out with her longer when we came back to get them. Finally, she has to be the most reasonably priced groomer in all the land...I thought maybe I was missing something....nope! $30 for each dog - wash, anal glands expressed (THANK YOU!!!!!!), nails trimmed. I can't even get a nail trim and butt gland expressed at the vets for under $40 (for my dogs people, not for me)!!!!! Pam, you're seriously pawsitivily pawtastic and pawmazing! Pam totally rocks. My 3-year old Golden, Astro, is a bit of a sensitive boy, and he was starting to refuse to get into the van of the mobile groomer we used to use. So, I decided to try a non-mobile groomer to see if he was more comfortable and SO glad I did. I've known Pam for years, before she was a groomer, and since my husband is her veterinarian, I know *exactly* how much she cares for animals! I just picked Astro up - he's much less nervous about seeing her, because she's very gentle - she even apologized to me because his ears weren't completely dry because he was a bit nervous about the blower and she just didn't want to push it and freak him out. I just really appreciate having a groomer who knows how to help the doggies feel more comfortable and she cares enough about their well-being that she'll do anything to help put them at ease. I have never seen Pam so happy as she is now working with the animals, and I'll never take my boy anywhere else because I know how much she loves the doggies! read more

04/14/13 Update: I just tried to book an appt but Pamela said nothing is available at all. So sad that she isn't as accomodating like before. Ill just have to go find a new groomer. If you try to book an appt w her, good luck... I have been searching and searching and searching for a good, kind, and compassionate groomer who truely cares about animals. The search is over when I brought my shih tzu to Pamela. She is very gentle and caring towards Bubbles (my baby) which simply reflects the result of her outstanding work. Im so happy that I no longer have to deal with petsmart/petco and their soaring high prices for low quality grooming job. Thank you Pamela for making my baby girl look adorable! read more

I have a 90+ lb lab mix that absolutely hates having his feet touched - but I have hardwood and that boy needs his nails trimmed. My husband and I have tried wrestling with him to do it ourselves and failed miserably. Pamela's Pawtastic pet grooming is absolutely wonderful! Pam is great. I went in to get my shiba's nails cut and their ears cleaned and even though they fought her she kept on trying! This was the first time I've been to her and definitely will not be the last! Usually I go to petsmart to get their nails trimmed and ears cleaned and pretty bad service as well. Pam gives out the care needed for every dog and petsmart is only looking at the dollar sign and not the care for the dogs. The best part is, is that she is nearby and I don't have to drive all the way to daly city. read more

I highly recommend Pam for your grooming needs. I brought in my shitzu, who was very matted and very sensitive, due to lack of care he recieved at his previous home. While he was difficult to work with and screamed so much and so loudly that she told me the neighbors were concerned about the ruckus, he got a great summer cut and looked so darn cute! Pam is great to work with and affordable. . Her main concern is the well being of the dog and uses gentle methods to get your furry friend clean. If you're trying to get a weekend, you will need to call in advance as she is a very busy person, however, she is very accomodating with scheduling times if your dog is dire need of a grooming. read more

Pam is wonderful! I absolutely love her. We have maltase mix pup (Anita), who's hair gets matted very easily. We've been coming to Pam for about 2 years now (Can't believe I haven't left her a review yet). She does all she can to accommodate us and get us an appointment that works with both of our schedules. I know it can be suspicious when a business has all 5 stars on yelp, but in the case of Pawtastic, it is completely deserved. My dog, and 8 year old Border Collie, used to have to be dragged or carried into the groomer. At Pawtastic, she loves going in, and she always comes out clean and happy. Pam used to work at one of the groomers in Daly city I think, and decided to go out on her own. So, she has experience and is really reasonably priced. I love the fact that my dog doesn't end up waiting around while she works on other dogs. I have also called because my pooch had some hot spots that I wanted to shave down, and Pam said to come on in. Overall, I have had nothing but great experiences. The only downside is the number of dog puns in the name, but that's a small trade off... read more

Pamela is super caring, loves the animals and great with people too! She is responsive to last minute requests and tries her best to call back, and if she is out of town helping her son move, she'll call you back from the road! My Sadie girl is sort of squimish when we drive her to get washed, but when she see's Pamela and a promise of a doggy treat she is ready to go! My dog has so much hair it's nuts, she comes back all sparkling and show dog ready, I am very pleased with her work and she's just a neat person! read more

I contacted Pam, and she was able to get my Yorkie Millie in, I loved how she was not put in a crate all day (because she is a big cry baby) I was able to go right across the street, do some shopping and in a hour my baby was done and looked amazing! Pamela does such a great job and charges a reasonable rate. She always works us into her busy schedule. She really loves the animals and her little dog is there to keep everyone company. When I went looking for someone to groom my girls Pam was booked of course but I was patient and held out for cancellations. Jackpot! I am now booked for the whole year 2015 and can't be happier. My girls, beagle and Lab, love to see her. I took my girls to Petsmart and when I would get them back they seemed traumatized and I could never get the same groomer for each visit. With Pam they are happier and calmer and that's important. So I am going to keep all my appointments and girls happy. :) read more

I walked in here at 4:45pm on a Friday afternoon with a dog covered in cow manure and nowhere else to go. This lady greeted me with a smile and didn't seem to even consider turning me (or more likely my dog) away. On top of that, my pup is a nervous shelter dog who requires a gentle hand. Her passion for working with dogs (and all animals) was extremely obvious and her attention to detail was impressive. One of the best dog professionals I have ever met in my travels.
