I love this place! Great beer, large selection (including wine, cider and canned cocktails if beer isn't your jam). The fantastic, large fire pit creates amazing ambiance and heat in the middle of their large outdoor space. Plenty of room to spread out inside too, with some TV's for sports, but not always easy to see. Dogs and kids are welcome. They don't serve food but they do have food trucks serving regularly which is fun and a great way to try different foods. We stopped here on our way out to our campground and had a couple of beers. We tried a couple of IPAs (The Rustler and The Sofa King), a wheat beer (The Urban Surfer), and a hibiscus sour (Aura). This is the spot to bring your (friendly) dog, your kids, your friends from out of town, and to meet big groups because it's a big, open space both inside and outside. They've got an excellent selection of beers, along with a fridge of cans to pick-up and go. I always love the vibes here, but the last few times, the servers/employees have been a little "cold" and not as friendly as they were back when the brewery was smaller and just getting started. We pulled into town looking for lunch before out hotel room was ready and stumbled upon this gem. In a kind of industrial park this place is fabulous with excellent beers and a killer permanent food truck. Plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasure and local musicians. Mondays are community nights where a $1.00 from every pint goes to a local non-profit. I love local places like this. read more

Visited this venue to play trivia. The place was packed, so obviously popular. However, the noise level was so loud I couldn't carry on a conversation or hear the trivia questions. Came here on a Saturday night with a large group of people for a friend's birthday. The organizers of the birthday party had been in contact with the brewery via email the week leading up to the birthday party to let them know that 20 or so beer enthusiasts would be rolling in that upcoming Saturday evening and would stay about an hour. They received confirmation that they would be ready for us. Unfortunately, the person whom they exchanged emails with did not convey this to the gentleman tending the brewery tasting room that evening and he was less than thrilled to see our group enter. The first of the group to enter the brewery requested a flight and was told "5 ounce pours will take forever...I will *only* allow your group 5 flights." To which she replied, "Ok, well then I'd like the first of those." He then said, "I'll help you last," looked past her and shouted, "Anyone want a pint? I'll help you now." Really odd, bordering on rude service. After his behavior was so unwelcoming, the organizer took it upon herself to show him the email exchange she'd had with the Payette Brewing representative. At that point, his attitude somewhat improved. I am quite familiar with their beer and my typical go-to Payette beer is their Mutton Buster Brown. I was excited to see that the February "Ale of No Return" was a porter--Pistolero Porter. It isn't my favorite porter of all time, but I do prefer it to the Mutton Buster (mainly because I prefer porters/stouts to browns). I also like that 10oz pours are an option! Overall, I'd order their porter again. But, likely, I'd find it elsewhere in town to avoid potential service issues. read more

I have been here a few times and I really like what is going on. Very clean atmosphere with vibrant people just partaking in a little beer drinking. The line to grab a beer got a bit long. However, those beer queens were slaying it and they were serving beer quickly. Laughs can be heard from every direction but especially from out at the beer garden where some fun peepers were playing yard games. I wanted to join. From the bar area you can see all the brewing magic behind glass windows but fear not, enter the door on the right (you will see it) and view the magic a little closer from an aerial view. Scared? Just ask and they will tell you the same thing!!! Yayee what a fun addition to not only Boise but the greenbelt! It is a perfect stop if you are biking in that area! Plenty of bike parking! Loved the place! We are in town from San Diego and my husband has bought their beer before . We had to visit. It's right next the the green belt, dog friendly, spacious, they took COVID measures to where we felt relaxed. Wear a mask to your table then chill. We went here for their Octoberfest yesterday and had a blast. They had great beer selection and a huge cool venue. I liked that they had a big grass area in the back that you could sit and enjoy your beer. They had ok food vendors and fun games for people to try and win a suitcase of beer. I can drink while my spawn runs around. :) The outdoor area is perfect for people who are always attached to creatures that need constant care (dogs, children, husbands). You can bring a blanket, or lawn chairs to sit in the yard. There are horse shoes and enough area for kids and dogs to run around. The new building is great...nice and big and open!! It has an industrial vibe with big garage doors that open to the patio in the summer. One downfall is it is tucked back from the street, and if you don't know where it is, you could easily miss it! Payette has some solid beers, and is definitely popular among the locals. = Boise Beer Tour (self-guided) - Stop 2 = I stopped here on my second day in Boise. In the late afternoon I decided to check out the pathway along the river, and at one point I noticed Payette was just around the corner. It seemed a prudent time to wet my whistle. Unlike the local, casual vibe of Woodland Empire the previous night, Payette was loud, busy, polished; and it felt, dare I say...corporate. The tenders were not unfriendly but a little harried and impatient, so I quickly ordered the first thing that looked good - a Blood Orange Rustler IPA; it turned out to be fairly boring; not nearly as good as it sounded (3*). The place was big. And busy. (And did I mention loud?) There was a large front room and an outside, grassy area with a few lawn games set up; quite a few kids and families. I wandered around a bit but was never really able to find a good spot to hang out solo, not even at the bar. I noted the crowd looked trendier than most Boise spots I'd been to and most folks were in larger groups; some appeared to be work-related. I would have liked to hang and try more of their beers, but I couldn't get comfortable here, so I headed out as soon as I could. Maybe next time, if I'm with a group (or a family) read more

I enjoyed everything this brewery had to offer. The decor was clean and modern. There are large beer coolers on one side of the brewery for off-site consumption, and the staff was inviting. There is no kitchen on site, but they usually have a food truck to help with the munchies. My two favorite brews out of my flight were the Awkward Hugs and Payette Forward IPA. Make sure you get a chance to stop by you won't be disappointed. read more

I should start with this is not a knock on the brewery itself....per say....but rather what it has become. The brewery does a good job of having activities, events, new great beers but.... This is the brewery you've always dreamt of if you wished Chuck E Cheese had a little more style and was a place 'to be seen'. My husband and I went there on Good Friday at like 8:30 and you could've told me we were in a public park after school got out with how many unattended kids were running around. We left. We are without kids and didn't plan to go grab a beer at a preschool. I returned on Thursday and it was the same thing!!! Parents hauling in kids by the carloads. These are not exaggerations...as I left I saw two minivans full of kids getting changed with toys leaning against the cars to come in and, presumably, spend the rest of the night there!! We ended up leaving because the table next to us thought it was appropriate to play basketball indoors for over 10 minutes. I have friends who take kids to bars and who are considerate to the fact they are in a bar or brewery but this is different. The parental patron's vibes here are kids-first. Parents who are like this - GO HERE! Please, just go here and don't turn any other brewery in Boise into day care. Payette - again, not a big diss on you bc its clearly a model that's working for you, but as a 30something with no kids, this is a total vibe kill. read more

Beer selection here is awesome and they have something to try for everyone. They have a couple of games in the back a patio up front tables inside and a large backyard as well. Drinks are about $5 a drink so not bad typical for a brewery but you can easily spend a couple hours here. Great place to come and hang with friends. read more

Good beers and even their experiences with fruit beers i.e. the blood orange are tasty. And I'm not a big fan of fruit beers! They have a band playing sometimes which adds to the experience but can get pretty loud when you are at the bar and talking will be impossible then.
