I called on a Saturday morning when I discovered one of the water lines to the water heater was spraying water all over the garage. I called several plumbers a few numbers disconnected one didn't answer and then I found Payless. He told me how to shut the water off but our valves were really hard to turn, on his way to another job be stopped by to turn the water off for us and instructed us on what to do next and didnt charge us a dime, even after my husband told him we would do the repair ourselves. There aren't many out there that would do that. After speaking with my husband we decided to let them make the repair. A few hours later he came back repaired the water line and we were good to go. Wow!!! How does one end up with 4 stars with so many negative reviews. His communication is spotty at best, but he makes a great first impression. He's a talker. But don't be fooled. We set up a start date and even agreed to payment. He stated he was currently working on a job, and he would text us no later than noon the next day to confirm on the agreed start date. But of course, he failed to respond. We finally got a hold of him 2 days later and of course he delayed his start date. What does he expect? Les did a great job strapping our china cabinet to the wall to prepare for an earthquake. He did so using a technique that did not require drilling into the cabinet. He cleaned up after the job was done and was very courteous. Not 5 stars on this one because he had to cancel the first appt to finish a remodeling job that he was doing. Has to be some kind of joke. My wife contacted these people to come paint a large living area in our home. We set up an appointment with "Les" at 5 pm. He was late and did not even bother to call to notify us. My wife called him and he stated he was running behind. I decided to leave but my wife waited for him. He ended up being 45 mins late. Then he quoted us 1500 for the painting bid, outragiously high considering we already had the paint. Also his timeline was 5 days. Even licensed painting companies had quoted significantly less than him with a max timeline of 2 days. Terrible. Do not ever use these people they will rip you off. read more

We are totally happy with the work performed by Les and his help. I called him to see if he would install a replacement bed control for my father-in-law. I live 400 miles away from my father-in-law so I was never on site. There were wiring issues to overcome since the replacement control was different than the original control. I had a few major repairs around my house in Chino, and I explained what they were. Basically I was told that it'd be too far for them to come out to Chino because I'd end up absorbing the cost of their travels and the time spent on traveling. I can understand it if it's too small of a job for them to come out, but I do have several major repairs and am willing to pay for the repair. Yet they seem to care less about wanting my business. What I don't understand is that I'm only about 7 miles from Rancho Cucamonga, which hardly seems to be out of the way for them. But apparently it's too far away for them. So my advice is that if you don't live in Rancho then don't even bother calling them. read more

Found them on Yelp. Spoke to Les who was very friendly and knowledgeable. I needed help with repair of water coming out of a wall in the men's bathroom in a commercial building. Les went out to the site and gave me his assessment of what the problem was, and given the age and decomposition of the waste lines where the water appeared to be coming from (it was a very old building), what the range in cost to repair would be, depending on whether the waste lines were salvageable, I authorized him to proceed based on the worst-case scenario. As he got into the repair, the waste lines were not is as bad a shape as thought, and he called me right away to tell me the "good news" and that the cost of repair was revised down.
