The wines, Funghi Stuffati and the Halibut special were spot on. Unfortunately, the Tagliatelle Bolognese was not and from being a traditional Italian dish. The plating was an enormous portion, excessive to say the least. The real issue though was the sauce which had a heavy dose of acidity from the tomato paste, salt or tomatoes and maybe a combination of all three. As I was eating the intensity became overwhelming to the point where I could not take another bite. The Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese was not there. I came here with a couple friends to try a new Italian place and this place was fairly average. Pizza- the crust was underdone. It was still very doughy. The cheese was also a bit stale and hard. The experience I had here, I don't think, was exactly what it could have been. We went here last Saturday with some friends.. we came a bit later and rushed our dinner choices. I guess we may have been assuming that this place was going to be good because our friends picked it & also the business' yelp pictures looked pretty good so we thought we could just come in & pick anything & it'd be fine.... Our pizzas didn't seem to have much effort put into them at all.. they didn't even seem fully cooked, they were really flimsy. My husband and I ordered when we got there & within 10 mins they were bringing our pizzas out. I'm not opposed to giving this place another try.. maybe getting pasta if we ever went again. Met my elderly aunt and friend there. I got only a caesar salad, which ended up as lettuce with parm cheese and, vinegar & oil. There caesar had soy in it. They said all of their dressings do. No croutons either. I appreciated their checking my allergies (that is why 2 stars) and for cross-contamination, but let me know so I can ask for tomatoes and onions on it or change my salad. $12 for a plate of lettuce with cheese. My aunt got eggplant parm. She asked for it not to be a sandwich, just the eggplant. It came to the table as a sandwich with fries, which she told them she did not want. She sent it back. She did NOT enjoy it at all. The friend ate her pasta and said it was okay. Oh, and parking SUCKS. Like big time! I had to circle for 15 minutes waiting for someone. My aunt (who needed handicapped and has the placard) parked a ways away as some young kids parked in the handicapped spot she needed. She saw them park, and she said they were hurrying for the door (cuz it was cold). I looked at the car. No placard and nothing on their license plates. The spot was marked for handicapped, as I saw it when it was open. I did tell our waitress. She just shrugged. It is not Pazzi's fault the kids parked there, but Pazzi did nothing about it! We had a great experience for drinks and dessert here!! They have a beautiful inside and large outdoor area. It was pretty crowded when we can on Friday night. We got a table outside pretty fast, however. The espresso martini was not the best, but the other drinks were great. I do love their dirty martinis. We manager was there and we was very friendly and he even gave us free dessert since they asked us to move to a different table since they had a larger party coming in. I am not sure what it was but it was like Nutella donuts. SO YUMMY! I have been to the one in Park Ridge and I am sure the food is just as delicious as that location. I ordered a deep dish pizza 10 inch. They brought me a thin crust. The manager came out and offered to make a deep dish to go. I would have had to wait an additional 30 minutes. So I decided to keep what they prepared. I ordered a glass of wine. The pizza wasn't that great and I've definitely had better. During the meal, the manager came by once again and asked if I needed anything else. I ordered another glass of wine but never received it. The waiter nor anyone else checked with me. Finally, the waiter came up to my table and asked if I wanted a box to go. Again, never asking if I needed anything additional. It seemed as they didn't care at all. One of our favorite restaurants in Elmhurst. Dinner never disappoints and the drinks are always fantastic. This was my first time trying the pollo limone and it was good but I have had better. I do wish they would add capers for dimension. The sauce was a little salty. But chicken limone is one of my favorite dishes anywhere I go so I will most likely order it again. Love their chopped salad - it was very good. And we always love their martinis! I love their espresso martini and their frozen espresso martini. The frozen one has less alcohol... FYI (just a tip!). My husband tried the special sugar cookie martini. It's very colorful and festive but the sprinkles were over the top. I would advise asking for light sprinkles! Pazzi is one of our family's favorite places to eat. Lunch or dinner! Some of our go to items is the grilled octopus, the toscana salad, the diavola pizza and the spicy bucatini. The service is always friendly and quick. Drinks are delicious. We like to sit in the vibrant bar area or their new open roof four seasons patio. Great for families, kids, groups.
