This place was a really nice break! I stopped here when driving home from Pittsburgh to NY. I had a juice that had mango and maybe pineapple with turmeric and ginger. It was so refreshing. I also had a vegan BLT made with beet bacon. The place had techno dance music playing. At first I thought it was going to be too much, but I ended up enjoying the music. First find some street parking, then go in and be greeted by friendly employees, then ponder the menu and struggle deciding between all the delicious sounding choices! They have breakfast items, lunch items, bowls, smoothies, and coffees. Though all the breakfast choices sounded good, it was well into lunch time. There is a great many variety of "burgers", I chose the Buffalo/bleu cheese and opted to have it in a bowl with a base of greens. It was very good and tasty, not fantastic. My husband chose a stir fry with tofu. He was disappointed that the veggies weren't cooked uniformly, same for the rice. He also thought it was lacking flavor. I tried it and respectfully disagree. Anyway, the smoothies and desserts also looked good. I do like the ability to customize. There is something to be said about the menu being as streamlined while varied as it is. We just finished a hike and needed food. They were open during lunchtime on July the 4th. I ordered cheezesteak (not sure if that's how it's spelled). It was tasty and the roll was good bread. Tried the desserts the carrot cupcake was so good even though it may have been out a while because the cake was a little firm but the taste was on point. The oatmeal pie was good. I came here for the soft opening and was blown away by the quality service and delicious food. I was skeptical about the food since it is a vegan restaurant (and me believing I need some kind of meat protein in my meal), but the food blew my stupid idea that "vegan food can't be as good" out the window... I'm so happy that this place has opened in Danville! So far, I've tried a quiche from their brunch (delicious flaky crust, with a rich, savory filling), their chocolate raspberry pancake bake, perfect freshly squeezed orange juice, and a chocolate marshmallow cupcake. Everything's been great so far--as with all good plant-based food, you wouldn't even guess that it's vegan--and I can't wait to come in during regular hours so I can actually sit down and enjoy more of what they have to offer. This place is the best thing to happen to the sad little town of Danville. I got assigned to work here for the year and have been struggling to find a decent place to eat that isn't gross bar food. PBJ has HEALTHY delicious food, vegan and vegetarian choices galore, super friendly staff, cute ambiance. I make it a weekly ritual to walk with my dog and my fiancé here for some drinks or snacks.
