This restaurant is 10/10! My husband and I are new to Lewisburg and we were excited to try Alees. We were greeted with the most friendly welcome and service from the owner. We loved speaking with him! The food exceeded our expectations - best kibbeh and falafel you can get in a restaurant! Extremely authentic, homemade cooking. Wonderful experience. I enjoyed it here so much. The owner is very warm and welcoming. I love the cleanliness of this establishment. His food is delicious, unique, healthy, fresh, and presented well. The coffee is warm and rich. There is also an array of international treats you can purchase to take home and artwork for sale. I felt like I went on a mini vacation of sorts. Alees Cafe is a hidden gem! We ordered the kibbeh, hummus, baba ganoush, spanakopita, and tabbouli--and everything was absolutely delicious. So fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The owner was incredibly friendly and enjoyable to talk with and waiter was detailed and efficient. Even my 5-year-old daughter loved it so much she asked if we could come back that same night for dinner! We ended up ordering extra to go :-) We'll definitely be returning. The restaurant we had planned to eat at was closed this evening, so we chanced upon this place. The proprietor was wonderful and welcoming. Treated us as long lost friends--even though we showed up close to closing. I had a very well priced lamb shawarma plate. Lots of flavorful food. I came across this gem while doordashing. The atmosphere caught my eye. Alee the owner is very welcoming and made me feel like i stepped into my grandfathers home. Faye and I had lunch from Alee's Mediterranean (Middle Eastern and Balkan) Cafe today. I was deeply impressed, particularly the coffee maker! There is a small shopping area up front but equally beautiful. The food was delicious and well- prepared. We had felafel, spanakopita, pita, and baklava. We have eaten these things in many countries and our lunch was comparable to the best. We have been Alee's customer from the first days he opened a stand at the Lewisburg farmer's market. We stopped in to try Alee's, intrigued by their Mediterranean side dish options! Once we went in we were so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful mini Mediterranean grocery options available. You can find anything from pickled turnips to dates to rose water!! As we were browsing the owner gave us a piece of baklava to try that was superb!! It tasted just like the ones I've had in Greece, perfectly crispy but with a syrupy finish with out being too sweet. They also have a fridge full of great sides ranging from falafel, grape leave dolma wraps, tabbouleh, imported feta, wild cucumbers, preserved lemon, and more. UPDATED 11/27/22 Alee still refuses to pay out my tips. I finally filed a complaint. Alee (through his attorney) claims that I did not earn tips. They say I only did non-tipped work, such as maintaining his website. I had no access to his website! If you were waited on by me in 2021, I did NOT receive your tip and Alee is claiming I did not wait on you at all! He is a TIP STEALER. read more

Stopped by for an quick lunch while moving our daughter in and felt like we went to that Mediterranean. The food is so flavorful and delicious. Had falafel, veggie platter- everything very fresh- he made it fresh. And the details to the platter like the marinated beets and chopped parsley hummus was perfect. I also had the beef gyro which had roasted tomatoes and the yogurt dip. It was so so good I wish I had a bigger stomach- large portions . For desert we had the rice porridge that was being brought out- So glad to have a delicious middle eastern restaurant in the Lewisburg area read more

I just had the best lentil soup here today. It was chilly outside and the soup was so good and really hit the spot. It looks like a deli but it's also a full service restaurant - perfect for lunch. The service was spot on and cheery. Mostly vegetarian options which I think is such a breath of fresh air in this area as most restaurants Around here don't have anything on their menu that doesn't include animal products. This restaurant does not disappoint! Any time I can walk on the street and see vegan food advertised on a menu without having to squint and search is a bonus. With very reasonable prices, and great preparation, I have no complaints about my food here. The owner was very friendly and asked each table in the small dining room if he could get them anything; this sense of hospitality was shared by the employees and added a nice personal touch. We stumbled into Alees Cafe because we were in the mood for Mediterranean food. The food was AMAZING. I had a special pumpkin dish called pumpkin kibbeh, and my daughter had the veggie combo which included falafel, grape leaves, hummus, and tabouli salad. Both dishes came with a side of amazing pickled turnips, cucumbers, olives, and pita bread. Everything is homemade by Alee, who is also a wonderful host that came over and had an interesting conversation with us.
