About two weeks ago, my favorite K-pop group, LE SSERAFIM, was in town and during the encore, they came out in full UW gear. After researching, I found out that the gear was from University Book Store. I really wanted to buy the hat that Chaewon wore and was able to find and buy one there. It was a University Book Store exclusive printed/embroidered on '47 brand Hat. There is a reason I am telling this story though! While I was there, I looked around and see what kind of merchandises they were selling and I noticed that they have done collaboration with quality brands such as Lululemon, Champion (reverse Weave), Adidas, '47 Brand, New Era, etc. Clearly, whoever is in charge of designing the fan gear here knows what they are doing. They also had a clearance section upstairs with items marked down up to 50%. If you're a current UW student or UW Alumni and haven't been here in recent years like me, I highly recommend checking it out. I've also noticed that books are arranged similarly to Barnes & Noble. I've been told that the books are carefully arranged and sorted via subcontracted by Barnes & Noble, so if you're interested in that, this is definitely the place for you. The prices are a bit high, but they do go back into student support and activities, so it's a good investment. Also, there is a 20% discount or specific dates and timelines along with promotionals for students. but I don't think that these discounts apply to text books. I definitely recommend a university bookstore.

My first time there Matt was able to salvage a not cheaper brand laptop by installing a new hard drive for a very reasonable price. I've had that laptop for several years now. Since then, we've brought a few others in for repairs and have mostly been able to get them all up and running. He also sometimes has sales of computers and accessories. Good location and easy drop off and pick up. I would recommend this place for your computer needs.

The worker/owner(?) said it used to be free but now there is a cost per item. Ok.. why wasn't that disclosed when I called not even an hour ago? The other customer also said he spoke to someone yesterday and they told him it was free to drop off the peripherals. I'm giving the business 3 stars because they should have been upfront about the cost. I think they are saying it costs $0 to get people to show up, then charge them a fee at arrival. Truthfully, I would have been ok paying $10 - I just want transparency! Pretty sure he'll part out my monitor anyway since there's zinc, copper and metal in it but I find their business practice kinda shady.

Ugh...I called and scheduled service on my computers for a few routine matters I didn't have time…read moreto deal with myself. Not only did they never get to the action items for which I called, these guys sent a tech who totally wrecked havoc on my machines which were previously rock solid and stable. They ran a software that 'broke' the connections between files and software (e.g. so Adobe didn't recognize PDF files for example, outlook didn't recognize vcards, etc). They added software that slowed down my operations, and caused all sorts of problems I didn't have before they started. At one point I found the tech actually googling how to perform a basic function (seriously? I can do that!?!?) I've spent weeks trying to unravel their 'work'. I heard they did a good job (which is why I called), so maybe it was who they sent...but I strongly suggest you do your homework, ask for the qualifications of the tech they send, and watch them as they perform the work to understand what they are doing so you can either approve it or undo it later.

They very patiently established with me what my needs were across all my platforms, helped design a system of storage that met my needs, showed me how to manage the process, and then charged me just one small fee, even though they had to spend quite a bit of time with me. Since I was on my way to Costco anyhow and I'd passed by this place a few dozen times I figured I'd stop in and check it out since I'm always on the lookout for a good hobbyist computer stores. Anyhow, the store was clean, the selection of equipment was decent enough. However the shopkeeper followed me around the store, I'm not sure if he was trying to be available for questions or watching me because he suspected I might be a thief. Given the shop's location on Aurora I can't really blame him for being careful, but it was a bit unnerving. Also, I was browsing the processors on display, I asked how much for this one particular processor to which I received a resounding "NO! It's not for sale!!" he further explained "I use those processors for resale systems" OK, fine, then don't have them on display. I was able to get the exact replacement for my case fan though, and it was a decent price. Despite the bristly service it's not a bad place to go. I don't think I'd go out of my way to get there though.
