My IT buddy taught me well about PC and online security but what do you do when your hardware fails? After a few months of my power button giving me difficulty, one day it stopped working. My friend referred me to a computer repair business who told me they could not do the repair but referred me to another company. Perhaps it is because of the current pandemic environment, but it took me a few calls and yelp research to find PC Parlor who said they could help me. With a 5 star rating, I was cautiously optimistic when I took my machine to their office. From the start, they were professional and explained everything they were doing as they opened up the machine. They were in no way condescending and consulted with me with each step explaining the possible outcomes and options. The power supply could have been another cause for the failure and they had one in stock to sell me if I needed it but turns out it was just the button that needed some work (probably wire connections). These days, businesses try to profit off of unnecessary sales, but not these folks. They charge a fair price for excellent work and deserve their solid 5-star rating! read more

After checking out yelp reviews and recommended by other locals I went in to see if they'd take a look at a laptop I had and how fair their price would be. I work in IT and sometimes it saves me time to let a speciality place handle the issue rather than me doing it as sometimes I have to pick my battles to budget time better. Upon entering: Was greeted and told someone would help me asap. This was exactly the case. Upon being met by professional tech: He introduced himself and I showed him the issue with my laptop. ( It has a semi loose hinge in which screen would move but not wobble.) What I'm used to is an estimate or someone actually opening the item before actually quoting me a price. As an email from them a few months ago stated, "Why don't you bring in the Mac and we'll take a look. We will let you know what's involved and a rough price to fix it." Usually the price of estimate could be applied toward the over all price. This was NOT the case. He merely looked at it for no more than 30 seconds, asked if I had the part already? (Why would I have the part if at the time I wasn't sure myself of issue) Then he looked it up on ebay to quote me the price of the part (which I wasn't sure that was what was needed), then was quick to quote me 2 hours labor to replace the part. Part was 30 bucks on ebay and another 150 labor. I asked for something in writing as that has always been something I give and expect when taking someones personal computer. The tech said they don't do that and he just quoted me the price. Those are the facts. Left, went home, cracked it open and found out screws just needed to be tightened. It did take me an hour of figure it out (research), open, test out the hinge and put it all back. Saved myself 150 bucks. The bottom line is my experience left a lot to be desired. What could of been a possible business relationship where I'd keep going back appeared to be more of a quick cash grab. On the bright side such a rip off price gave me the motivation to make the time to do it myself. All positive reviews I read just seemed to contrast what my experience was. Take it for what it's worth. I leave no opinion here only fact as to what occurred. read more

I found this establishment through Yelp and reached out to a couple reviewers to ask some general questions before going there. Like their reviews, their experiences were very positive which confirmed my decision to utilize the services from PC Parlor. Upon walking in, you'll see several tech stations and technicians with buried noses into their assignments. I almost felt bad for disturbing them, but a team member instantly greets you and asks how they can be of assistance to you. And to make things easier for me to understand, they didn't talk to me in "computer lingo". They summarize my computer issues, then restated them back to me to ensure both parties understood. Shortly there after, they provide me an estimate of how it will take and cost. They were in constant communication with me with progress updates and provided recommendations for antivirus software. The team member, Eli, was able to resolve my computer issues well before his estimated time and an easy to understand explanation of what the problems were. As a demonstration of team work, the owner of the company wiped clean my computers before returning them and confirmed with Eli he demonstrated my computers worked to me. In short, PC Parlor provides excellent service and easy to understand descriptions of the cause and resolution of your computer issues. I brought my computer in this shop to fix my fan and asked for the formatting. Next day, it was all done, and they told me to pick up my computer, and charged me 150 dollars, just for the system reset, and 25 dollars for the new fan. But they gave me 40 dollars discount when I told them price was too expensive. They also installed my new rams and got few softwares for free. After I picked up my computer up, everything was working fine, but in an hour or so, I was getting like 7~8 different blue screens. (Pictures taken same day of the pick up date.) So I brought my computer back in, and they told me they couldn't figure out what is going on, and asked me to get a new motherboard, or cpu, or new ram. Apparently, my experience with PC PARLOR is not over yet, since motherboard could actually not be the cause of the bsod. For now, it took them little over 2 weeks for entire process until now. I will update the total price, time and service I received when it is all done. UPDATE: they cancelled the new motherboard and figured out what the problem was. At first I thought price was too high, but they gave me discounts and the service was great. Total paid under $110. Great after service! Will come back read more

Been here once before to have my laptop fixed a long while back. Had some problems with the same laptop years later (damn you windows 10!!!) and decided to have them help me again. Eric listened to my situation, gave me his prognosis (basically confirming my fears) and offered me several options and, when I decided to salvage my hard disk and buy an new pc, gave me instructions on how to do that and even removed the drive for me. Then he spent some time chatting with me about various models I should look into. I know it's a small thing but he could very well have charged for the service and time. I had a wonderful experience here! After my computer was repaired and I connected it at home, there were horizontal bands scrolling on my monitor. I called and returned with it, and brought the monitor. It was not doing this when examined there but Tony decided to replace the power supply that had been replaced the previous day with another to avoid a return trip for me. This solved the problem !! My wife's PC needed to be VR Ready. Another shop put on the new graphics card, but didn't notice the temperature rising above 90F. PC Parlor took the entire machine apart to get the air flow to work, and found the drivers needed to turn on the fans on the graphics card. I've since been back for other fixes. read more

This is my review of PC Parlor. I cracked my laptop screen and hadn't saved my work, freaked out and then messaged PC Parlor via Yelp to see if they could get my data off my laptop. I messaged them at around 10 p.m. that night and got a response within minutes. Tony messaged me back with a very reassuring message that, by my description, I most likely hadn't lost my data and that they would be happy to help me out. Tony's response that night definitely got me in the door the next day because it was apparent to me that they had a lot of experience with both PCs and Macs and it was a no-pressure reply. I dropped off my laptop right before they closed that night, which happened to be a couple days before Christmas and had informed PC Parlor of a work deadline I had the following day and asked if they could get all my data onto my external drive by then. Even though they were busy, they made it happen for me and my external drive with all my data was ready first thing the next morning. It was really nice of them to work hard for me when my deadline was my problem, not theirs. I found the entire repair team at PC Parlor to be really kind, helpful and accommodating. When I came by to pick up my external harddrive with all my files, Tony happened to ask me what computer I would be viewing the files. I replied my MacBook, and then realized my mistake: I had given them my Windows external harddrive. First, I was really embarrassed I made this stupid mistake; and second, I was so happy Tony had thought to ask me this question because I would have been really angry at myself after getting home and not being able to touch my files on my MacBook because my MacBook doesn't recognize my Windows harddrive. Instead of Tony reacting with annoyance and a loud audible sigh, he couldn't have been more kind about my mistake. Without any judgement of my mental faculties, he was just like, "No problem at all. We'll get this fixed for you." I happened to have my external Mac harddrive on me and they got it all copied over for me within a few minutes. The team never once made me bad about the fact that I just made them repeat their work at no additional charge to me. While PC Parlor was recopying all my files to my Mac harddrive, we chatted about my work. I work as a freelance deposition reporter, and it's a pretty small, obscure field. Tony asked me if I use Eclipse CAT software for my job, which I do, but I was really surprised he was so familiar with it. This was the first time a PC tech was familiar with my trade and the software I used. It's comforting to know that PC Parlor can also help me with respect to my software/specific work applications. I used the time to pick the team's brain about my next laptop purchase and also asked them for help with a component I needed to get at Best Buy (since you can't trust the help you get there) and the PC Parlor helped me out with figuring out exactly what I needed. PC Parlor really went above and beyond for me and I couldn't have been more impressed with their work, their level of expertise and knowledge. That knowledge and expertise is what will be bringing me back into see them with any pc/mac problem I have, but the cherry on top is how kind and helpful they are. They are a great team of techs and are so easy to deal with. I'm so glad to have found such a trustworthy and experienced team at PC Parlor via the good Yelp reviews and they will now be my go-to computer repair shop for both my PC and Mac. I am not one to do reviews, but in this case I really feel that a review is in order. If you need anything Apple worked on this is simply the best place to go. I spent a lot of time and effort running around trying to find a good shop. I commute 120 miles on workdays and it's far more convenient to get my iMac serviced on this end as most of the shops are closed on my home end by the time I get there and that means that any service on that end will be at least a week and more than that if the work is not properly done. These guys work with you...accurate time estimates and great phone follow- ups. Best of all, they get it right. As a bonus, their prices and wait times are great. I had a power outage at my house and couldn't get my Mac Pro to restart. For me, taking in my computer is like sacrificing your only child.
