I have been dealing with the Riverhead PC Richards for about the past two years. My husband and I have purchased multiple appliances for rental properties, a mattress and box spring, and also a kitchen suite for remodeling our son's recently purchased Co-op. Evan has been amazing in going out of his way to find us exactly what we need to fit our measurements at a price that we are happy to pay. Most recently I drove my 85 year old mother in from Old Westbury to replace a 42" built-in refrigerator. She was very specific in what she was looking for. I knew Evan would have the patience ad determination to find her exactly what she wanted. He was overly patient in going over the features and details and in answering her questions - sometimes repeatedly. He kept us informed of the manufacturing timeline and saw to it that the refrigerator was delivered ASAP, and on a day and time that worked well for her. I would also like to mention that the delivery team was amazing. They removed the old unit and installed the new unit to her satisfaction. They protected her hard wood floors and removed all the packaging debris. Needless to say, she was very happy with Evan and PC Richards. I usually go to PCR in Deer Pk. However, I was in Riverhead today around 2p, so I stopped in here to check out over the range microwaves. A nice young salesman approached me & I told him I needed to replace my microwave but I want one with a full rack in it, similar to what I currently have. He went & asked someone if there were any like that, & he returned to me with a no. I browsed & we chatted about my 14 yr old microwave that I love. I told him that I'll keep looking. Then I asked why don't they make them with the rack anymore? His response, "Because they're starting fires". I never show my element of surprise because ppl will always talk bs when you opt to listen. I couldn't believe he would spread such misinformation, which could lead to destroying a brand's reputation. I left the store, & decided to shop online. Disgusted by his comment. Some people just have to have an answer. That was not a smart answer, nor was it the truth. He needs to be retrained. read more

We have been going to PC Richards in Riverhead since 2016 and always have used Joe Cipolla as our salesman. He has been honest, forthcoming and today when our Whirlpool duet broke ( he informed us that we probably wouldn't get too much more time out of it) we ordered one site unseen except through screen shots. Got lied to in service department about parts being expedite, finding out a week later they are out of stock.. terrible Communication and waste of time. Purchased a Frigidaire stove in October 2023. It was installed incorrectly and blew black smoke for two weeks before anyone would come look at it. I was told it smells bad because "it's new." Black soot landing on food and coating the inside of the oven. FIRST SERVICE MAN came weeks later and noticed that they had hooked it up for a gas oven and not propane, which I had paid $300 for a conversation kit for. They switched it over and it continued to smoke and not work properly. Needs to be 50 - 100 degrees higher in order to cook anything. Called service and the store repeatedly and was left on hold, hung up on, and once rudely told "we are not returning your stove because it's dirty" after being told it was filled with soot. SECOND repair came and saw how bad it was and he took it apart and we scrubbed every inch of it side by side at the sink. He ordered a replacement thermometer and the entire interior of the stove. The parts took a month to arrive. THIRD service repairman came and wouldn't even install the new parts because he said that they would just "get sooted up again" and that we should call PC RICHARDS for an exchange. Called the store AGAIN and was told "I don't know how this is my problem" and told to call service department again in order to try and get a replacement. I am currently waiting for someone to call me back because I was disconnected twice. I have been on hold forever over a dozen times, been hung up on, been rudely spoken to and still have an oven that is blowing black smoke, ruining my dishes and likely poisoning my food. WORST customer service of all time. I have purchased appliances with this company for 35 years and never had this experience. THREE MONTHS with my NEW STOVE and it still doesn't work. Our refrigerator broke and I had done some on-line research. Sebastain B. was our salesman. He was very informative about which manufacturers were more reliable. Since this is my 4th refrigerator over 40 years of marriage, I didn't need a major sales talk and only wanted facts and to the point. Sebastain is young but extremely informative and professional. There was no pressure. He printed out the models I was looking at and told me he would match a competitor's price and/or if the price went down from 30 days of delivery, P.C. Richard's would refund me the difference. I ended up buying a G.E. Profile, 4 door standard refrigerator with water and ice on the door. It is spacious and will suit my needs well. The 4th drawer is a refrigerator drawer which comes with a place for canned beverages. It will reduce the need to open the refrigerator door for snacks and will come in handy for parties when you want to have chilled wine, beer, soda and other beverages available for guest. I have an older model GE Profile from over 12 years ago which we use in a pool house and GE Profile has served us well. The previous was an LG which was 7 years old and broke every 6 mos with the ice building up which caused the refrigerator component to overheat. Luckily my husband is handy and defrosted it each time, but I had to remove everything from the refrigerator and place it in the other GE Profile. There is nothing I can say bad about this company, or at least the Riverhead location. One of the things I have to applaud P.C. Richard & Son is their continued dedication to local police forces. My father is a retired Riverhead Police sergeant, and whenever him or myself come into the store a salesperson is more than happy to offer us a discount based on my father's service. Do you know what I love? I love a good salesperson who upsells in a smart way. Not pushy but smart. I had to buy a new phone for Granny who lives in Patchogue. She tells us, the phone stopped working. I stop at P.C. Richard & Son (Don't forget the Son!) in Stony Brook and buy a small AT&T wireless home phone. Sure enough, I walk into her home and the plug fell out of her old phone. Not a problem. She gives me a wet grandma kiss on the face and I'm on my way. I have to go out to Tanger (Love Tanger) and when I'm finished, I'll swing by P.C. Richard in R'head to return the phone. Nice clean store, I walk in and see a salesperson. He looks everything up by our phone number and returns the item back into inventory. Next, I see what I've been eyeing all year. A new Sony flat screen 4K ultra Television. When I walk into to any P.C. Richard, I look at the price. I touch the television and say, I love you. Like deep deep sandwich love. Love. You. Like this TV? The salesperson asks. Yes but I have a 45 inch TV that won't quit, its been over 10 years. Why should I spend money on something that's working well? Then he points out the features of the new Sony. Pete, the sales associate in Riverhead was exceptional. I rarely write reviews but this man went above and beyond my expectations. I walked in needing a washer and dryer and the measurements had to be very precise. There was no stock but Pete searched the internet and called mutiple stores until he found the perfect fit. He texted me prior to delivery date and on the delivery date I thought I needed an extra part which he said he would bring by. The installer was able to install with out the part but just the suggestion to bring it over says what an awesome salesperson he is. Pete went above and beyond. So I decided to go back and by two more electronics from him and will use him again in the future. When you are good at your job, word of mouth is the best referrals. read more

Only thing PC Richard &Son did right was charge my credit card. Existing refrigerator stoped working on Thursday night. Called PC Richard &Son Friday morning. Salesperson Andrew said didn't have refrigerator that was on their site available suggested another brand that was in stock. I agreed explained that I had a full freezer of food. He said earliest delivery would be Wednesday. I explained I needed it soon and would go elsewhere. He then checked and said they would have it delivered on Saturday. On Friday night they gave me a noon to three pm delivery window. I then emptied the refrigerator and freezer which at this time still had frozen product. Put every thing in six ice chests covered with twenty pounds of ice. On Saturday morning I got a call by Andrew salesmen who said they forgot to load the refrigerator on the truck in NJ so I wouldn't get it till Tuesday. Therefore I had to throw out three hundred dollars worth of food that spoiled buy Sunday . Luckily I had a very nice neighbor that had a little room in freezer that let me save a hundred or so dollars. Was told I would be given 100 $ credit for their incompetence. On Tuesday when it arrived two delivery men took old refrigerator then brought in new unit. Didn't bother to unwrapped the plastic nor take the styrofoam off the doors or inside. Didn't offer to hook up the ice maker nor did they level it. Just plugged it in and ran out the door. After I gave them a very good tip. I've been buying all types of appliances ,TVs, head phones, DVD players and cameras from this company since the 1970s. Including a dishwasher two months prior to this fiasco. I am replacing a washer and dryer unit. Guess where I WON'T be buying it from ! PC Richards & Son. Never again. read more

Read my review below. P.C. made the last debacle right after I wrote a negative review. I then, foolishly it turns out, gave them another shot. Bought a gas dryer last week from PC. Delivery this past Wednesday and everything went wrong. The delivery guys could not manage to drive the box truck without running over my neighbor's sprinkler system, his flowers, and taking a branch off of the tree in front of his house. When he told them not to drive on his lawn or flower bed, a very heated argument ensued that almost ended in a brawl. The guys then proceed to install the dryer, tell my wife everything was working fine and run out the door. You know that this is coming...we go to use it and not only is it scratched up, it does not work. Promptly call P.C. and the salesman, Glenn [who could not be nicer or more helpful] is off. I describe the problem to someone who says I will get a call right away to sort it out. Of course, just like my last encounter with P.C., no one calls back. Call again the next day, and promised a call back. Again, zero.....it is now Saturday, non working dryer delivered Wednesday and no calls at all. This place is absolutely the worst and I am now going to have to dispute the charge on Amex. Should never have given them a third chance. read more

I've never felt the need to leave a review for a salesman before BUT Mr. Andrew Ashley was so exceptional and provided me such a pleasant and overall memorable experience, that I find myself having to say something! I've been in search of a stove-top range for some time now but couldn't decide on the right one for my family and kitchen needs. The management in this store needs to be fired. I went to buy a Ring doorbell on Saturday, for $199.00. Sign said purchase the Ring and get a Free Echo Dot. Salesman agreed. Manager couldn't get it to accept in the computer and denied our Free Offer. His name was Frank and the rudest individual I've dealt with in some time. I left there and purchased the Ring online thru Amazon Prime for $30.00 less. I now truly uh understand that PC RICHARDS is overpriced! Stay away from this store!!! My experience was perfect from beginning to end. Joe C. understood what I wanted, explained the features perfectly and I was out of there in no time with a new freezer. Probably the worst experience buying appliances ever. We purchased a new washer and dryer last year. P.C Richards techs installed both, stated both are working great and left. A couple of days later while using the dryer we discovered that it doesn't heat up. After multiple calls, visits from P. C. Richards installation tech and service tech and them blaming each other P.C Richards finally decided it was broken on delivery and agreed to replace. A week later new dryer was in. We should have left it at that but NO! This year we purchased a refrigerator from P. C. Richards, paid for ice maker, new water line etc. On delivery we discovered that what was delivered was a floor model (it was banged up and filthy inside and ice maker not working). Sales rep at P.C. Richards in Riverhead was shocked and of course knew nothing about it. Replacement comes in a week later, installed and again ice maker doesn't work. Here comes service department to the rescue...diagnosis - it is a plumbing issue and tells us to call a plumber (ice maker in previous fridge worked fine, no issues ever)! Plumber comes in - checks the line, water pressure, everything is working tip top; also plumber points out that parts inside the fridge are broken and some wires are completely disconnected. Awaiting a call back from P.C. Richards sales person, promised today but I guess forgot. Shocker, I know! Really hoping we learned our lesson and to avoid this place in the future at all cost. But also wondering if there should be an investigation into their business practices and selling broken equipment. read more

I purchased a washer dryer from them in November 2018. The installers were not from P.C. Richards but a company they use. The installers hooked my washer up to a drain line that was apparently clogged. They let water pore out all over my new flooring. We cleaned it up with my towels, they proceeded to run the washer again knowing the line wasn't good and again water pored all over my floors. They also converted and installed my dryer, leaving without informing me that the cord was too short and didn't reach my outlet! My floor started to buckle due to the water damage. PC Richards claims department sent someone to look at the water damage. He informed me that water was traveling under the floor and noted all the damage. I received several calls from the installers informing me that they weren't insured and the damage costs were coming out of their own pockets. He even came to my door unannounced on a Sunday! PC Richards claim department said I needed estimates to replace the floor, I complied. After going back and forth with me P.C. Richards claims department is refusing to settle my claim. I asked them repeatedly to send me documentation on their decision & also the license & insurance of the company they sent to my home. It's been over 2 months and I've received nothing. I contacted the BBB, they advised me to take the case to small claims court. I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years, not anymore. read more

Sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip....to PC Richards. I saw an ad in October, 2020 for appliances from PC Richards. Since I needed a new refrigerator I drove over to PC Richard in Riverhead. I know the salespeople get commission because on an earlier date I got berated by one salesman when I found a TV online I liked and ordered it online. When I went to pick it up, the man said they don't get commission from online sales so come buy it at the store instead! Now, you would think a refrigerator sale would offer a fair commission and the salespeople would jump to help you. Nope. I went in and was completely ignored for about 10 minutes even though it was obvious I was looking at refrigerators. I almost walked out but I saw one salesperson standing at a computer so I walked over and asked for help. She finally got up and came over. She wasn't rude but she was not helpful. She just followed me around waiting for me to pick one. I found one and we proceeded to the computer to make the sale. I was told that it may take a few weeks. I agreed because the refrigerator was just want I wanted. The sale was made and I also paid $32.59 for them to haul my old appliance away. After I got home, someone told me they really wanted my old refrigerator so I called PC Richard and asked to have the haul away charge removed. I was told it was. It wasn't. This sale was on October 6 (look it up, PC Richard) and it arrived on January 5!! This is not a few weeks, it is months. I called the store many time during this time and they kept telling me to call back. If I had been wise I would have canceled the purchase after the agreed delivery date but I was thinking it would come soon. I was foolish. Meanwhile, my credit card statements started coming in with the haul away charge still on it. I called the store AND the credit card company and both said to call the other. In January, I was fed up and complained loudly to Synchrony Bank that handles PC Richard charge cards and after several emails and calls I got the charge removed by the bank. This was done by me with NO help from PC Richard. They don't care once the sale is made. No one called to explain to me or apologize why my refrigerator was so late from October to January. I had to make all calls. FINALLY, on one call I was told they would check on it and two days later they called to say it was coming the next week. So, I made time and room and waited. The delivery people were on time ( a plus ) BUT they were in a big hurry. They told me the had made 10 deliveries that day already and got yelled at if they don't finish. They quickly put on the handles and told me I had to remove all packing material and tape! Then they took off. Well, at least I had my appliance, right? I spent a while removing all the tape and Styrofoam. Then I realized every time i opened the door the refrigerator flew out of the wall at me. So i read the manual and even went online and they talked about adjusting the leveling legs. However, there were no legs! I thought perhaps the delivery people, in their haste, I thrown them away. So I called PC Richards because it is up to them to deliver and install the appliance correctly. The store had no idea what to do so they called the home store. They were told "repair men" would be by the next day. These two "repairmen" with heavy Eastern European accents from Georgia came and told me "this refrigerator model was "no good" and get another. Gee, i wish someone at the store had told me this 3 months earlier! They brought no leveling feet but noticed I had foam with an adhesive back on my counter to stop my trash can lid from hitting the counter. They asked for some of that. I provided that and they cut two small pieces and jammed them under the wheels and said "there, that will hold for 10 years!". Then they left. i am angry. This is not the correct way to fix this and it was rigged temporarily and is destined to fail. It is not up to me to provide supplies to slap dash solutions. I want a professional job that I PAID FOR!! I will never buy from this store again and I strongly suggest you avoid it, too. It is obvious no one there cares about service. OMG! PC Richards now sells mattresses! Though I am not in the market for a mattress as of yet... I did purchased two amazing pillows and got the best night sleep. The staff walked me through all the different types and I even had a chance to test them out. The showroom looked amazing and the selection was outstanding. Can't wait to shop! I purchased a very expensive dish washer from PC. I have been a loyal customer with PC for as long as they have been in the Commack/ Elwood area. Well over 30 years. I purchased the extended warranty for this dish washer and the first time it breaks I was introduced to the ugly underbelly of this company. PC Richard farmed the job out to G&G who came and checked out the machine. They said it needed a motor. Fine. Well 2 weeks later, No motor, no appointment to repair, no emails or phone calls. I have now called the service dept. 4 times with no satisfaction. First of all, does anything take two weeks to ship in todays world?? I have ordered someting from Amazon and gotten it the same day. I didnt believe it would or could take two weeks to ship something from Kentucky to New York. Since I had such little faith in that explanation I decided to call a well known, national appliance parts supplier. They had the Part in Washington state and said they would have it at my door step the next day with free shipping. I called PC and told them this. I was told it would be relayed to G&G as well as a supervisor at PC. That was a week ago. Today was the repair date from G&G and no call, no email. They never answer their phone so I call PC. they tell me the part isnt in yet and they have put the part on a rush.........What? its been a week and a half without a dishwsher and with a worthless extended warranty. If they dropped it from a helicopter in 10 minutes it still wouldn't qualify as a "rush" order after a week and a half. The service rep said she would forward it to G&G and her supervisor. I asked to speak to this supervisor so I know for myself they have been alerted. The rep was instantly offended and started talking down to me. She refused to let me talk to a supervisor and my dishwasher is still not working. Thanks for the effort PC. I will be shopping elsewhere after 30 years and untold thousands of dollars spent with you. I now understand why everyone shops mail order. Local businesses dont care any more for you than Amazon. It might actually be Amazon who takes care of its customers better. So why even try and keep a local guy open? Amazon would probably have sent me a new machine after my second call. I'm off to search for my online options going forward. My fridge is getting old as are my washer and dryer. Too bad I cant shop local and be treated like they value my business. read more

Frederick, ask me to stay in the front while he would gotten a printer for me, no choice just brought me what he thought it was good while he asked not to moved from the place he left me in the front. when it came to make the payment he brought to a place and told me don't moved and stay behind the line, the line was 6 meter from the prexies glass guard, I had a mask on. he make me feel like I was back to elementary school making the single file line and making sure I stood where he'll direct me. If you want one of the greatest and knowledge salesmen, go see Rick F at the Riverhead store. I bought a fridge, dishwasher and stove from him/PC Richards. Because of Covid 19 and the contractors, there was a delay on the appliances being delivered, but Rick would call every month check on the status of the job and ALWAYS make sure my appliances were in stock. Service attempted to fix it 12 times. P.C. Richards then gave me a credit for a new one. Rather than call anyone, I called Rick after looking online and told him I found one in my budget. He said let me call you right back. He found a better dishwasher, IN STOCK and arranged for delivery & installation 2 days later!!!! He really cares about his customers. Great store to shop in everyone is very helpful anytime I need something for the home I go to this location

I arranged my house keeper to meet the PC Richards service guy at my rental property at 9am. She arrived a couple minutes after he arrived, he looked at her and then drove away. Now we have to reschedule when I'll have tenants at the property. And to top it off, the woman at the PC Ricahrds service department called me and left me a bitchy message that no one was there when her service guy was at the house. Maybe you guys need a reminder that the definition of "service" is "the action of helping or doing work for someone." read more

3 wks to fix a 3 yr old dryer, didn't show within 4 hr window, no courtesy call to notify of late arrival. I had to call. No consideration for customers time! Will definitely be using someone else for appliances bc 3 yr old dryers shouldn't break and it shouldn't take over 3 wks to fix them. read more

Note to PC Richards: Stick to selling appliances and not mattresses! Do not purchase a mattress from PC Richards. I bought a mattress three weeks ago and since I have had it, my husband has been having lower back pain and not sleeping through the night. There are lumps and indentures on his side of the mattress and clearly that is what is causing his issues. When I called the service department to ask about exchanging this mattress they gave me resistance and said they would not exchange this unless it was a manufacturer defect. You can count on it that I will go directly to Mr. Richards himself about this. My advice to all is never buy a mattress from any other store but a mattress store! Lesson Learned! read more
