Awesome customer service! I bought a TV in 2015 after a fire in my home. I just moved back home. My TV wouldn't work properly. I placed numerous calls to LG to no avail. They outsourced their customer service overseas. Needless to say I have been on the phone to LG for a couple of days. My last resort was to stop by PC Richards in Riverhead. I was promptly greeted by Hank. I told him the problem with the TV. He looked up my account. I had a warranty. I didn't even remember. He immediately set me up for a service call. PC RICHARD & SON BRAGS ABOUT BEING FAMILY OWNED AND OF QUALITY SERVICE...LIES!!!! We bought an LG fridge model #LFXS30726S in 2016 with the 10year warranty, as advised by the salesman, at the Riverhead store. He tells us these fridges only last 2-4years due to compressors breaking down. On 6/26/2021 the fridge broke down. We called for service & were told they could not get here until 7/2/2021. That's the day I had to bury my father who passed on 6/27/2021. We called the service dept & explained our situation to them; the funeral being the same day & we will not be home. We asked if they could call our friend & neighbor when the tech is on his way so she can let him in. They said the tech can do that. Our friend works from home & has 2 small children needing a heads up when tech is on his way. Upon confirming the phone numbers they had in their system, they had our house phone number which we told them 3 times prior to delete, we no longer have a house phone. Call friend's number for delivery. They tell us tech will arrive some time between 7am & 6pm. Fine, just call our friend when he is on the way. The tech comes to the house around 3 pm, rings doorbell, waits about 3 minutes & then leaves. I can confirm that on our Ring doorbell camera. Never called friend to say he is on the way. I call our friend while my my husband called PC Richard's service dept. He is #86 in the queue. WHAT!!!???Husband is on hold for about 5 minutes & then decides to call Frank the manger in Riverhead where we purchased the fridge. This is all happening while we are on our way back from burying dad & going to a luncheon in honor of dad. Frank does not come to the phone. This is nothing new as he pushes off most calls to the assistant manger so he does not have to deal with customers. Now remember, we paid for the 10year warranty, it was not free. PC Richard acts like they are doing us a favor, a favor we paid for. Anyway, my husband gets a nice lady on the phone & explains the entire situation. She says the tech cannot get there again until 7/12/2021. My husband says that is unacceptable & somebody better get back to our house today. We cannot wait another 10days for someone to come check it & then wait for them to come back with parts to fix it, who knows when. She made some calls, which took over an hour & says someone will be back there in a 1/2 hour. My husband thanked her very much & that was it. My poor husband was outside of the restaurant trying to get this issued resolved & missed over an hour of the luncheon. In the meantime our friend was at the house since the time the tech left & was not leaving until someone came back. The tech finally returns, just looks at the fridge, does not even touch it or open it & says, "Oh yeah, it's definitely the compressor. These fridges all have the same problem. The compressors usually only last about 2 years." He will have to order it & when it comes in make an appt to replace it. We were actually shocked by what he said. Without even touching the fridge he knew what was wrong with it because they all have the same problem & he has had many calls on these fridges. We then get a call that the part is in & set up an appt for 7/12/2021 for tech to install new compressor. That morning, 7/12, my husband receives a call from the tech saying the part is damaged & he has to order a new one. If it arrives by tomorrow he will come tomorrow, 7/13/2021, & that is a big if. Now I have lost my patience. I call the Riverhead store & speak to the manager, Frank. I was surprised he even took my call. I tell him the entire story. Now what you don't know is that we had this same exact problem with another LG fridge we bought back in 2011. The manager at that time told us to come in & pick out a new fridge after two failed attempts at fixing it. I did some online research & found a class action lawsuit against LG for their failing compressors, which by the way was won by the claimants. Our LG model fridge was one of many included on the list in this lawsuit. I told this to Frank who did not care. I continued with PC Richard selling products they know are defected & sell them anyway. They have had many service calls about these compressors as per their own tech. I tell Frank I do not want a new compressor, I want a new fridge because I know that the new compressor will break down as well. Frank, with an attitude, proceeds to tell me he does not have the authority to do that. I said, "The last manger had the authority, why don't you?" My next phone call is PC Richard's corporate office & I will leave a review on every website I can to let everyone know about PC Richard's terrible customer service. They sold us a lemon!!! Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I will never buy another thing from PC Richard & Son, not even a toaster & I will tell everyone I know how terrible they treat their customers. I would like to take their fridge away for 4-6 weeks and see how they cope. read more

My mom recently had a bad experience with a P.C. Richard delivery person damaging a tree in her front yard. Long story, but the person was very rude and the tree was badly damaged. After contacting their corporate headquarters, the store manager at the Riverhead location spoke to my mom about the issue and was very considerate and apologetic. He even provided her with a gift card as a result of her terrible experience. I thought the Riverhead store manager handled the situation very professionally and respectfully. My mother is happy to once again be a customer of P.C. Richard. read more

My husband and I went to PC Richards on 1/18/14 to "look" at a large screen TV set. Reinhard was an unbelievably helpful salesman who was so knowledgable that we brought the 50" TV home with us. We were able to set it up because of the help Reinhard gave my husband when he called the store later in the day. Hank the Asst Manager was also very nice. Vinnie is a great kitchen appliance salesperson and he really knows what he is talking about and doesn't oversell a product with too many bells and whistles that you won't use. read more

Love this staff in Riverhead. The manager Frank at the door is so personable and has his staff assisting customers as quickly as possible. Our experience was with Brendan! He is absolutely polite and outgoing, not to mention adorable! He helped with selecting three televisions this past few months. In addition I work at a local practice and during the start of this pandemic he aided my entire office with purchasing laptops to work remotely from home. There was a point that he was not at work but contacting his store and giving the sales to his coworkers. It wasn't About commission only helping out front line workers. Complete class act he was. We will be back soon as our fridge is nearly shot. Which we purchased years ago with P.C. Richards as well. I believe at that time we worked with vinny! By far the greatest group of people to work with as compared to any so called competition. In my book there is no competition. My wife and I have made multiple purchases at the Riverhead store. We have been assisted by many at all levels and skillsets. There is a gentleman I believe by the name of Butch? We met him previously at another store and were extremely happy to have found him again. I believe in this business there is room for markup, I have never left without a feeling that I received the best possible deal and all my questions were answered. Even both my children love the store, both 9 and 10. If you are aiming for that family feel, you're doing right by me. First and last time dealing with this location. I spent over 6,000 on appliances. After purchasing the appliances, I go into the store to upgrade my stove. My salesmen is not there, so another salesman assists with the upgrade. Makes numerous input errors as he is going too fast. Pulls up another customer's order. I tell him that he input the incorrect invoice #. Then, he pulls up my order and is not sure of the model number that needs to be cancelled and almost cancels one of the other major appliances He does not apply the balance to my PC Richard card as I originally paid. When I ask him to, he says that since he already completed the order, I will need to see someone at the front desk tomorrow. As I leave the store, and read the invoice, I notice my balance is almost 1,900 over what it should be even with the upgrade. Next day, I speak with a manager. The salesman removed my multi-appliance discount! They had to call corporate to reinstate it. Then, 30 minutes before the delivery, they call to tell me all that will be delivered except the refrigerator because the model number changed from the manufacturer. Now you tell me??!! I had been in the store for 3 consecutive days prior to the delivery! They guaranteed me an after 1 delivery since I work far away and confirm it with the scheduling company. The n ight before, receive a call to confirm delivery and they confirm it's after 1 pm. The day of delivery at 10:45am, I receive a call that they will be at the house shortly. I work over 80 minutes away. They have to come back that afternoon and schedule the delivery with another driver. the delivery guys were awesome; however, the refrigerator is delivered damaged. Scratches in doors, dent in door and paint missing on bracket. Call store and am told it may take a few days due to paperwork. I am hoping by Friday it is delivered. I have only used P.C. Richard for 40+ years but only the Deer Park or Babylon location where a friend worked. NEVER an issue. Since he retired, I though that I would support the local store. Never again. Aggravation galore! Shop at another store. read more

Amazing store, amazing service. Rick Fuchs gave us great advice and service on a tv purchase and helped us find a tough-to-locate part for a washer and dryer. He went above and beyond; he knew his stuff; he listened to us. The store was, as always, easy to deal with--no waiting around, no desperately flagging down salespeople, no harried, overworked folks who didn't really know their stuff. We'd had epic failures at 2 big appliance stores in Riverhead (guess which big boxes I'm talking about); Rick solved our issues quickly and efficiently. Despite a complete lack of response from this local store, PC Richards customer service did respond and replaced the originally delivered, damaged TV. Now, a new TV has been delivered and works beautifully. Thanks to Rick in Corporate Customer Service for correcting local store issues. I have purchased three (3) large appliances - refrigerator/ freezer / wash machine - in the past year at the Riverhead, NY store. I asked for a waiver of a $50 delivery fee and was laughed at by the sales rep (Joseph). I called the manager - (Ray McDuffy) who told me that "I can't do that - that's how I pay my drivers"). I have never heard a more ridiculous response from a manager of a major retail chain. Like everything else in this New America, let the buyer beware. Never again. On principle, if I have to pay $150 for delivery, I will shop anywhere but PC Richards. read more

Every time I go to this store the customer service is excellent. The prices are reasonable. The sales people are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I like the fact that they are not pushy and they are patient. They spend time with you without making you feel rushed into making a choice. I recently had trouble with a vacuum cleaner that I purchased several months ago and I brought it back for repair. I was serviced by John Butch and Hank at the Riverhead store and could not be more satisfied. I was treated efficiently, courteously and professionally. The vacuum was sent in for repair and I have been receiving emails on the status every step of the way. This is why whenever I need to make a purchase of an appliance, electronic, etc., I do not bother with the competition. P.C. Richards is the best!!! read more

Probably the worst experience i've ever had shopping for appliances. I first thought that it was just the sales person that I had but i'm realizing now that this location as a whole is extremely unorganized. Let me preface with an apology for the long review...I purchased an entire kitchen from this location a few months ago and scheduled a delivery day. I live in a co-op building and there are strict rules around delivery time frames. We also require submission of a certificate of insurance to the management company in advance for every large delivery that is being made. I mentioned this about 3 times and I was told a note was made on my account regarding the COI and delivery window. Cut to the night before the delivery is scheduled when I get a call from an individual at this location confirming my delivery. She told me that my delivery was scheduled for 7AM, two hours before the delivery window of my building. I told her that this was incorrect and that I could not accept deliveries at this time and that a note was made on my account. She said that there was a note but it wasn't input correctly to the warehouse so there was nothing that she could do at this point. I was obviously upset and called back about an hour later for a manager. The same individual who called me answered the phone and refused to put a manager on the phone (seriously?). Realizing her mistake, she told me that the error had been corrected and that the delivery time has been updated in the computer. Luckily the delivery did arrive within the delivery window. Unfortunately, once the appliances were delivered, we found that the refrigerator would not fit through a doorway in my apartment. Totally a measurement mistake on our part. My delivery guy told me that we could keep that refrigerator in the dining room for now and that I could call the next day to order a new appliance and have them swapped out. I called the salesperson who assisted me in purchasing the appliances and she suddenly became very standoffish and rude. She said that they were 'going to killer her over there' because of this and that it was a huge issue. I asked her about the measurements of a couple of different refrigerators and she was very dismissive. Confused and frustrated, I told her that I would call her the following day with confirmation of which refrigerator I was going to purchase. My mother, who lives close by, decided to go down to the store that night to check out some refrigerators in person for me. Once she got there a manager was on the floor and explained that once an appliance is left at a unit and returned, even if it isn't plugged in, it is considered used which is why the sales associate was so upset. This was never explained to us and eventually the manager was able to help us out to swap out the fridge (for a smaller, and unfortunately more expensive refrigerator). Only 1 out of the two managers here was helpful in this entire transaction and it really was upsetting considering how much money I had spent in their store. Great experience at PC Richard, nightmare disaster at Home Depot. Just under five years ago, we purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot in Riverhead, NY. Contrary to my normal practice, I bought an extended 5-year warranty. Just under five years from the date of purchase, the refrigerator died. I called Home Depot on Saturday, June 17, 2017. They promised to send a repairman on Monday (June 19). On Monday, my wife called the appointed firm, who said that they did not service our area (they were in Nassau, we are in Suffolk, County, NY). She spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone with Home Depot. HD finally scheduled another firm on the following Wednesday (June 21). They cancelled and rescheduled for Friday (June 23). The guy came late Friday afternoon, took one look, said it was a Freon leak and there was nothing he could do -- he did not do Freon leaks. We went back to Home Depot. They promised to call on Monday (June 26). No call, so I called again. The person I got on the phone offered to schedule the two firms who had already said they could not or would not service us. Finally, on Wednesday (June 28), we are promised an appointment with a third firm on Thursday (June 29), but no promise as to time of day. I said that I absolutely could not do Thursday afternoon, because I had a medical appointment in the City. Finally, Thursday morning, after much cajoling with the new firm, I got them to come Thursday morning. (In the meantime, another arm of the HD extended warranty operation (Azurion) called to say that they had scheduled one of the firms which said they could not do the repair for July 4!) The new guy shows up on Thursday (June 29), adds Freon, says he will be back to check up on things on July 18 (!)(I let it go, assuming that such a call will not be needed) and leaves. After 24 hours, refrigerator still not working, so back to the HD "Resolution" specialist. It is Friday (June 30) afternoon now, and he cannot do anything until the following week and needs to order a new compressor and evaporator. On Monday, July 3, the parts arrive, but the HD "Resolution" specialist says he cannot do any better than the July 18 appointment for installation. I call the Investor Relations number on the HD webpage and surprisingly a human being answers the listed number. I threaten to call the SEC to complain about HD's misleading sales practices. He puts me through to a Resolution Executive Accelerator, who promises to do something. In the meantime, on July 5, I demand that the HD "Resolution" specialist reimburse me for the cost of the unrepaired refrigerator. He finally agrees, but says he must get it approved by another department. On July 6, I give up and go to PC Richard and buy a new refrigerator. The service could not be better. Even though I don't really believe in extended warranties, PC Richard offered a 10-year extension for about 25% of the purchase price, and I decided to buy it, given that I was assured that PC Richard does its own repairs and does not farm it out to third parties, which is what HD does. The new refrigerator arrives on Friday, July 7. While it is being installed, I get a call from the approving HD department. The guy asks if he cannot provide a "cooling alternative" - I said not a chance, that it had been nearly three weeks since I made my claim, and that I wanted a refund NOW. He offered to give me a card with the refund amount on it, but It could only be used at Home Depot. I said no way - I was never going into a HD store again. He finally said he would send me a check by FedEX overnight, but it would take 3-5 days to issue the check. I protested, to no avail. It is now Sunday, July 23, and I still have not gotten my check. The HD "Resolution" specialist no longer seems to be returning calls. The Resolution Executive Accelerator said that someone had instead sent the check out by regular mail. The Resolution Executive Accelerator has offered to issue a check for an additional $185 (the sum of the sales tax and the extended warranty on the covered refrigerator) as some sort of goodwill gesture, but the form she sent me included a statement that I had no other claims against HD. I marked the form up to make an exception for the refrigerator price refund and sent it back. No response. We fortunately have two refrigerators, so we were not completely without refrigeration, but we had a full house, with visiting children and grandchildren, and the one refrigerator outage was a tremendous inconvenience. I don't know what we would have done if we had had only one refrigerator. HD should be ashamed of its performance. If the whole company is run the way its extended warranty arm, it is a disaster waiting to happen. We have, needless to say, sold the few HD shares that my wife inherited a few years ago. read more
