I ordered a laptop from Pc's for people in Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Unfortunately I received the wrong charging cord so I ordered one from Amazon. Then I proceeded to request a refund for the balance I paid to Amazon. They declined my first attempt to get a refund. They wanted to resend me the correct charger. The second attempt to get the right cord failed. They resent me the identical charger that came with the computer the first time. I again requested a refund and pleasantly they will refund me. I guess you get what you pay for. It only cost $20 for a complete micro computer including monitor. Its a really old monitor and the only input is VGA so it got thrown in the dumpster after I upgraded. They sent me a Dell Optiplex 3060 and the website said it has an SSD but the only storage was a regular HD thats real slow so I had to buy an SSD. Ivwish I could give it 0 stars. Do not waste your time pay full price. It's not worth the aggravation and incompetence. It's been 2 months and they still haven't gotten my order right. I have a computer tgat doesn't work taking up space. The first computer I received was completely damaged they packaged it with absolutely no bubble wrap newspapers nothing to cushion it it came with a computer and a hard drive in a box and that's it. I don't understand if all they do is tell computers all day long why there isn't a protocol on how to package a computer I was told to put it in the trash and that they would send me out another one but that another two weeks went by and I never received anything upon my calling they said oh no you shouldn't have put it in the trash we need to see it to make sure before we send out a new one even though I sent pictures of everything completely broken and demolished. Then I talked to a supervisor who said that they would send out a new one the new one arrived from the monitor is from 1998 and the screen is from 1984 and there was no cables that connect each other. So I have a monitor and a hard drive that don't go together and don't have the correct cables in order for them to work so I called up after speaking to 18 people and was told that they will send me out the cable it took 3 weeks for me to receive the cable and once again it is not the correct cable I have no idea who works at PCS for people but it is not worth your time and your sanity to deal with them everybody there is completely incompetent and not capable of providing what you pay for it is worth it to go and spend an extra few hundred dollars to get a brand new computer from a competent salesperson and not deal with the aggravation. read more

I had previously written a 5 Star Review but need to amend it because of the rude and curt tone I received from Mr. Feng when I called to get a warranty replacement on a defective hotspot and mentioned that I had given the company a 5 Star Review. Not only did I not get that replacement during a month of written requests and phone calls appeals, but I had to file a BBB complaint before the issue was resolved and a warranty replacement was mailed. I am relieved it was finally resolved through BBB resolution, but that experience left me with a sad understanding of why so many have given this company low reviews. They were wonderful until they switched to using T-mobile. Ever since then I've had barely and reception and my devices won't connect to the internet. I tried calling T-mobile..had no help..called PC for People and they said all I could do is cancel the subscription with them and go somewhere else for internet. Ordered a refurbished desktop with a monitor. Came packaged very well with paper and bubble wrap and got to me in 8 days. No issues there. However, the monitor they sent me is 12 years old! It still uses VGA and has no HDMI. My tower has no VGA so I was sent a DP adapter to use with the VGA to connect my monitor. It doesn't work. My monitor has no signal. Called PCs for People, explained the situation and sent pictures of the cords so they could send me a new VGA cord and adapter. My problem is they only give 30 days to return your computer from the day you purchase it and I have no idea if the monitor is bad, the VGA cord, the adapter or the port on the back of my computer tower. And if I decide to return it, I have to pay shipping even though their product is defective. Also, everything I received is filthy, all of it was covered in dust, they couldn't even bother to wipe it? The monitor is also in bad shape, cracks all along the top corners, so that's why I have doubts that it's even the cords. They claim they test everything before they send it, but it is obvious they don't. read more

Im a disabled individual who is on an incredibly tight budget. I am way below poverty level. I wanted to get a new, well new to me, computer. When I heard about these ppl and how you can get a refurbished computer at a very low cost i jumped on the chance to apply and get one. I received notice I was approved and told when and where to go for the pickup event. I went and paid using money I really didnt have, picked up my computer and went home. When I opened the box and saw all that came in the box..well i wasnt happy. They did not give me the vga cable to connect the monitor to the tower and for the power supply they included a standard power cord that fits most computers...most This particular PC doesnt use the standard power cord, it takes an external ac to dc power adapter... Basically the kind a laptop uses. So after discovering this i contacted them, they told me to go back to the event and swap it for one with the right cables... before I took the swapped pc home I opened the box to be sure all the right cables were there...they weren't. Exactly the same as the first one. I informed them, they opened one more box...again it was exactly the same. Evidently every box containing a computer was packed wrong so that everyone who got a PC got one missing the monitor cord and power adapter. They told me they would ship me the right cables...yeah Im still waiting...so for now I have a completely unusable PC. The internet is ok... Over all I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

What they purport to do might be great, but service leaves short. It's great they offer low cost internet to anybody in the country that qualifies. and they were out the gate early, 1 year almost before i was notified of it by my local phone company. so a star for that. and you get a lot for a little. But I had my modem (had to pay extra $80 over the monthly to buy it) fail after like 6 mos, they replaced (not easy). they take 30 min to answer and dont help you with everything in one call, though they could. Then it failed again, and now it's past the warranty period, so I had to buy THEIR modem AGAIN, NOW $130!, to continue service or they would refund unused (they even shaved some off that). Really, it should be replaced free. They even sent out an email outlining the battery issues with that modem they replaced my first modem with. But no help they said i have to pay for a new one. NOT PROPER. NOW I got my modem to start on my own, using some youtube and searching the internet, I wondered why they didn't try to help me do that. Now I'm cancelling the order by email and they don't answer. I am supposed to have until Monday (3 more days) and really dont want to wait in the queue on phone. I called several times, each time the wait time was nearly an hour! I then emailed then and got responses within a few hours. I brought in an old laptop with the hope of getting it running again. I think I've had better luck than some bc I was able to go there in person instead of waiting on hold, shipping my unit or waiting for one to be sent to me. Anyway, when I went in, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I waited about 15 minutes to be served and was very happy with the service. I left my laptop and returned 2 weeks later to pick it up after I received a voicemail saying it was ready. I bought a new battery and had windows 10 loaded and it cost $45! I've not used it much since I got it back so I will update my review if I have problems. So far I'm very happy. 4 stars instead of 5 bc of the wait time on hold. read more

I am so thankful for PC's for People. Before I found their Internet service I was using my 15GB of hotspot on my cell phone plan each month. My only option where I live is satellite and I cannot afford that! July 2020 I purchased a Hotspot. It worked and served its purpose until the new year, less than a week after the warranty expired. The hotspot magically went into lock mode and was stuck, turning it into a useless brick! Very, very fishy! I have no choice but to purchase another modem per the uncaring PC for People rep in a monotone get me off this phone voice! So I did! That was January 5th. I have used up the 15 GB of hotspot from my cell phone plan. PC for People ripped that $95 out of my account on the 5th but have yet to ship me the new modem. I have called 3 times and waited an hour on hold to get a status only to be met with another uncaring rep telling me 7 days, no 10 days, no 13 days depending on what day I call. As of today it is 10 days (Jan 15). What can I do? Absolutely nothing and they know it. We are the low income people with no recourse and they can treat us any way they please. And it is definitely reflected in each reps voice when you call. I am documenting! If I ever get my modem and it dies less than a week after the warranty expires AGAIN, we are definitely going to have a problem! read more

I used PCs4People for 9 months, but had to cancel the service due to the poor quality modems they offer and they will not allow you to buy a better quality modem to use with their service. The first and second modem failed in less than three months. I now have a third modem which cannot be refunded as it is outside of the warranty, but I may return to PCS4People if they get 5g. Otherwise, they offer a great service for low income homes. I now live in a senior apartment building that qualifies for Spectrum Internet Assist at $17.99 monthly, a few dollars more than PCS4People. However, if I lived in any other apartment building in my same neighborhood, Spectrum's charge is $75 which is why I switched to PCS4People. read more

My experience with this organization has been nothing short of full satisfaction. I state this because I am a retired senior now living on a fixed income, and they assisted me to secure a very nice Dell Laptop. The unit arrived well packaged, clean as a whistle, and fully functional. The Window 10 os is very nice to have, and the battery is new. No scratches, dirt or blemishes; screen like new, keyboard super clean and not worn out. This Dell works like a charm! Have had an amazing experience with these people. I was terrified when my old computer died as I'm on SS and just don't have the money for a new one. When I found this company I was excited that these were prices I could actually afford. So I ordered, then had to cancel suddenly the next day (long story). Customer service people were extremely helpful and friendly and canceled order immediately. Then was able to reorder quickly. Got delivery way sooner than expected. Refurbished computer is in excellent shape and working well, everything as described on website. Am very very pleased and would recommend to anyone. PCs for People (I went through the Cleveland branch) and they have been nothing but responsive, helpful, and understanding. My first computer had some screen clarity issues so I sent it back. When I got the computer back, everything worked well for about 3 weeks until the screen as totally black/blank even though the computer keyboard background lights turn on and the computer is fully charged. At this point I just wanted to return it. I was pass the return date and was told I would just get the repair. When I talked about my situation and that I was asking for a return after having two issues with the computer, they agreed to grant me a refund. There was a shipping issue when I attempted the return it for a second time for the refund. My package was mishandled and the contents (computer, cord, and headphones) were damaged and lost during shipment. I thought I would totally be lost out and would never get my refund (even though the shipping issue was out of my hands). They refunded me anyway without getting the computer back. I'm very grateful as I needed the refund money back to buy another computer. Simply said, they have excellent customer service and I appreciate them going above and beyond to help me out. Although the computer itself was in poor condition and was broken, the excellent customer service made up for it. The PCs for People Cleveland branch is fantastic so I'm sure they would work with their customers if there was any issues with their products. read more

i have been a custome for years, and have finally had enough! the modems are junk and do not last. their customer service is a joke - they don't return any emails, and if you call be prepared to wait on hold for at least an hour. Internet and cable prices were too high for my budget so I decided to try digitalacess and sign up to see if I qualified for this program, which I did however a week after I applied received an email the prices went up however I was locked into the prepaid cost already. Had not received the modem yet and when it arrived by UPS I canceled my internet services. Not able to get internet service from the Modem (which cost an additional ($79.99 ) tried to contact the service center several times and let voice messages, emailed them without success. The paper work stated I have 7 days once the item was received and activated. Had to pay to shipping to return it back via UPS waiting for a full refund I signed up for Pre-paid services for internet and Hotspot connection for 12 months since it was the best deal. Used my credit car to make the purchase hopefully this get's resolved and the FULL refund is honored. read more
