Seeing as I'm always up for some fried chicken goodness, I had to give this crispy chicken joint a try. It was my first time trying out PDQ. We mobile ordered our meal using the app. The app is super easy to maneuver through & the process is fairly painless. We drove up to the drive thru & picked up our order. The service was prompt & friendly..I did take a peek into the restaurant itself, the space was busy & bustling. The crispy chicken sandwiches were good, a high notch above any fast food chicken sandwich. Waffle fries were pretty decent. Our order was a little off things missing from our sandwiches, sauces etc! We let them know right away & they rectified it immediately. Apologized & comped us a gift card for our next visit. It was a pretty busy night for them so it's understandable. I always try to like PDQ because everyone speaks highly of their sauces. However, the chicken was slightly underwhelming and the fries leave a lot to be desired. It does feel like every other chicken place in town so very simple and a little plain. The gentlemen of the register was very kind and had just dealt with a whole mess of high school students coming in for dinner so I understood his noticeable boredom. People Dedicated to Quality (PDQ)... that's quite an ambitious mission for a regional chain chicken shop. Coming from the West Coast, this business doesn't have a presence where I live. I noted that PDQ Chicken was rated higher than most of the local competitors so I stopped by this location for a takeout order after arriving in town. The structure and interior looked modern in the mold of a Chick-fil-A but with a smaller footprint. The chicken products were sold as tenders, nuggets, and sandwiches. Each type could be prepared as crispy or grilled. Five sides were listed, two of which were items I have rarely encountered... Zucchini Fries and Parmesan Broccoli. A few salads were available for those who wanted to be extra health conscious. Shakes and cookies were the choices for the sweet tooth crowd while kids meals and family meals were offered for the youngsters and larger groups, respectively. A meal of Grilled Nuggets was my choice with Waffle Fries as a crispy side and Sweet Tea as a drink to complete the offer. Twelve small pieces of grilled white meat were placed in a plastic container with the fries and a piece of Texas toast. Supposedly, you could choose more than one of the seven signature sauces without incurring a surcharge. I picked only the Sweet Sirarcha which tasted like a mayo-based remoulade without any spiciness. It wasn't very sweet either. For $12, I'm not sure the chicken was worth it as several nuggets were dry from being overcooked. The fact that the fries and drink were included in the price was what redeemed the value of the purchase. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my late night visit to PDQ Chicken. read more

While some of the sandwiches can be just alright (unfortunately the Nashville Hot is a bit of a let-down, it's just tenders in bread), the nuggets are where they shine. Those are truly the best and blow away pretty much all of the sandwiches, and are better than any other fast food chicken. Their fries are great, and their chocolate shake is the best. Came here due to Yelp to reviews and the delicious looking pictures and figured why not take a gamble. Coming from California so trying some local spots while in town and gave this one a shot. Tried the honey butter chicken sandwich, my gf tried the grilled chicken tenders with corn, while we washed it down with an Oreo milkshake and a side of waffle fries. Good spot, quick serving of the food, and top notch customer service. Big points for having a drive thru even though we dined in. Four stars for a very consistent fast casual restaurant. One of my favorites from back home, I was so excited when the Sodo location was built. I've visited this location several times and we consistently had great food and service. The chicken tenders are the best here. A good size and lots of flavor in the batter. Always so juicy and delish! They unfortunately don't have their old hand cut fries like the old days. They do have waffle fries which are still good and always crispy. Always ask for everything extra crispy! Sandwiches are great and usually the chicken breast pieces are thick and cooked to perfection. The salads are even great. We love the house made sauces. Service is usually pretty decent, if not overly friendly. Nothing wrong with that though! :) One thing that's also consistent that's knocking off a star to be a 5 star review is that the tables are always dirty. We've come when it's busy, or empty and there's no orders, the tables are always dirty and never wiped. It's unfortunate but not the worst that can happen. read more

Our first visit to this location and we arrived just minutes after they unlocked the door. As we walked up one of the employees opened the door for us and greeted us. We walked over to the counter to double check what we wanted and placed her order with ease. I ordered spicy chicken fingers with a side salad, no tomatoes. My companions got the grilled tenders with fries and we all had their lemonade. Our food arrived quickly and everything looked fantastic. The tomatoes had been added to my salad but as they are grape tomatoes I removed them and one of my companions ate them. At least we did not waste them. The tenders were fabulous and we each had different sauce for our tenders. I got a honey barbecue and a sweet Sriracha. The Sriracha would normally be outside what I enjoy but the flavor and heat is excellent. The tenders already have good heat but adding the sauce just expands upon the flavor. The lemonade was everything they claimed it would be. It was well recommended by the lady who waited on us and I thanked her before leaving and told her it was truly excellent. I only wish I could have had more of it. When we finished eating and we're cleaning up the head out the one employee offered to take our tray to get rid of her garbage and then open the door for us and thank us for stopping in. We were the first ones in the door when they opened but quite a few people came in after us. They have a well laid out seating area that is quite comfortable along with accessible seating. I've been happy with every one of their locations I have ever been to and I really wish they had a location close to where I live. If you haven't tried PDQ, you're really missing out. read more

We had our first ever visit to PDQ at this chain just recently! They opened this spot up a couple weeks back, unfortunately right in the midst of COVID-19. Drive thru is open though and they have limited occupancy in store for take-out. I tried the honey butter chicken sandwich with waffle fries and upgraded my drink for 0.99 cents to a small chocolate milkshake. The drive thru attendants were SUPER nice and friendly. They really made us feel welcome and took time with our order. It was interesting that they had a person take your order at a window then you get the order at the next window - no speaker box. I loved my honey butter sandwich. I do NOT suggest you eat this while driving LOL, it was drippy and messy. Super good though. I've never tried PDQ before so I was excited when this one opened nearby. We finally got around to trying it for lunch today. I have to say this now probably ranks as my top spot to get a fast food chicken sandwich! The ordering process is easy and more personal. You place your order at a window with a person instead of using a speaker box which is cool since the speaker boxes are sometimes tough to hear properly. We shared an order of waffle fries and also got some buffalo bleu sauce. I usually don't like waffle fries much because they tend to be soggy, but these were crisp and fresh. They were very good and I liked dipping them in the buffalo sauce which had a little heat and a nice tangy flavor. My chicken sandwich was big and yummy! The chicken was well prepared, flavorful, and juicy. The thick pickles and the cheddar cheese complimented the sandwich nicely. The greasiness leaks through the bun a little, but it was still good and didn't have that greasy taste some places have. My boyfriend raves about his sandwich as well.
