They came on time and very hard working. I highly recommend. I have used their competitor's and they don't compare.

They came to our in Albany to move us to Texas, they did not show up with proper moving containers that we paid for, they wrapped stuff and put into their own 26ft box truck. Once at the warehouse they then loaded it all into the containers, once the move was done we found many things had been taken apart that was not originally wrapped that way, some stuff was clearly not handled with care and many boxes were smashed. We are still unloading boxes and totes into our new house. They damaged our couches they broke the legs off a desk. Scratched up my tool box, smashed some legs on some other tool boxes as well. So very happy with how they treated our stuff. It was also not great to have the workers smoking weed while at our house. If that's your thing great just don't around me. read more

5 star experience with PDX movers from start to finish. We hired PDX movers to pack, drive and unload for our move from Western to Eastern Washington. The process began with a very detailed meeting with a member of the team to go over our home, the items to be packed, and the cost of the move. Two days prior another member of the team contacted us and confirmed the details of the move and what to expect the day of the move. On the day of the move I received a text that the movers were on their way and they arrived on time as agreed. The team consisted of Said, Edward, and Josh. The three came prepared with all the tools and equipment needed along with carpet covering for the whole house. Part way through the load, a supervisor arrived to check on the crew, offer loading advice for the cross state trip (weight requirements by the state) and answer any questions I might have. I think the supervisors name was Bobby?? but great guy. Thorough, friendly, and very professional. The team of Said, Edward, and Josh wrapped and covered every piece of furniture that was in the home and loaded the entire home into the moving truck. The following day the same crew arrived at our new home on time and as agreed. Once again I received a text that the team was enroute and Said, Edward, and Josh emerged from the truck ready for work and they had our home unloaded in no time. All our furniture was assembled in the original manner and boxes placed in their appropriate rooms. At the time of this review, we have ZERO damaged or broken items. I would be stunned if we were to find any since the teams process of wrapping all the furniture in blankets would make it difficult to break or damage. Kudos to the team for such a thorough packing process. I couldn't be more happy with the team of Said, Edward and Josh and our family is extremely grateful for their service. I especially enjoyed Said who shared personal stories of his family and his native countries cuisine which I found very interesting. One of the most important things that a mover needs to do is not break things. PDX Movers damaged property, then their claims department gave us the run around with fixing the damage they caused. Their claims dept doesn't allow you to talk to a person, and only operates via email. They offered us a lowball price to fix the damage ourselves. I didn't accept this and they said they would find someone to fix the damage. Months later, after applying more pressure, I was contacted by the owner of the company, who had the issue solved to my satisfaction within weeks. FWIW, the owner is really professional and personable and he said he would work on improving the claims support. read more

It took a bit of work to get there. At times it felt as though they were not hearing us and trying to disprove all of our negative comments / feedback / complaints, but as I said we did get there. I would recommend PDX Movers to friends and family with the clear instruction to make they also have an expectation set of the quoting process / sales team. Do not allow them to tell you there is not time to come physically view the property and make sure you follow up with them on if anything was missing like pictures. Mike, the owner has gone above and beyond to attempt fix our move troubles. The third party claims company did eventually work out, but it was clear the transition to them left anyone in the existing claims process in the lurch. That shouldn't happen again. He tried his darnedest to get someone to repair our furniture, but living in the middle of nowhere Vermont meant that was very difficult and the only person who did eventually show up did a worse job than I could do myself. Luckily, they were topical fixes so no harm done. I'm bumping a star because I'm mostly satisfied. We're still without our cherished kids hiking backpack that had amazing memories. The claims company only gave us a sale price in value, which I spent on another brand that isn't near as comfortable. Overall, I wish some of the things that happened with the move hadn't, but the reality is they did. Would I use PDX Movers again or recommend them? Even with a 3-star review, possibly; the moving industry is tough and they do genuinely care. read more

I cannot recommend this company enough! I first worked with Max to set up a quote/dates for the move. He came out to our home to assess in order to provide as accurate of a quote as they could. Unfortunately, after setting up the quote we had issues with the family purchasing our home and had to postpone the move dates. Max told me he'd check in weekly to see if we had dates/they could assist with scheduling and he did. He was consistent and so kind. Pricing wise, AMAZING. We were moving out of state and PDX Movers was hands down the lowest quote we received, but more importantly, the most straightforward pricing. It took all the guess work out of it. When the move was done we paid pretty much exactly what we expected to with no surprises. Crew wise, WOW. They sent a crew of 6 to move us out of our Portland home. The guys were great! Polite, careful, fast, and hardworking. They then sent 6 guys out to our new home to deliver our stuff to the new out of state home. This crew was led by Dan E and included: Elijah, Noah, Miguel, Allen, and Payton. Dan was a born leader. He was friendly and very communicative with us AND his team. He was helpful and we overheard him numerous times making sure his team was being safe as well as passing along info to help them be even better at the job. He took amazing care of his team and us. We have 2 little kids and as much as I tried to keep them from underfoot, they did get in the way a few times. The crew was so nice. They made sure the kids were safe, they never were mean or upset, and they were all friendly with our littles who were pretty excited and also a bit confused. All of our stuff arrived perfectly fine and was out exactly where we needed it. All furniture they put together was put together with care and properly. Everyone was communicating wonderfully with each other and us. They worked so unbelievably hard and we are so grateful to them. Please do your research if you're moving long distance. My husband and I hired PDXMovers for our long distance move and our mistake was not asking them for a contract. They do not offer insurance, but instead something called "valuation" which covers items at $6.00/lb. Here's our story:  On Jan 9th, the movers came and picked up everything that was supposed to be delivered to our new house in Las Vegas by Jan 11th, at 8:30 am. Instead, my husband received a call from David the "C.E.O" at 8:30 am informing him that the moving truck had been stolen.  They eventually found the moving truck in Henderson around 2 pm. Half of our furniture and valuables were missing. Almost all of our furniture is gone. Including but not limited to, our beautiful bedroom set, my nice coats, one of my luxury handbag that was inside our luggage, our TV, digital keyboard, paintings, our custom dog furniture and much more! I never imagined something like this could happen. It was devastating to put so much trust in a company only to have our stuff stolen.   As for replacing our furniture, instead of considering some type of reimbursement so that we could at least replace some of our belongings with items we were comfortable with, they said their policy was to pick out (clearly cheaper) furniture with a "similar aesthetic" obviously to essentially save money on their overhead. It's almost April and we still don't have furnitures in my room other than my bed. The only things they've replaced are the legs for the couch, and our dining table can't even be used because it's missing the table top. Everyday is a reminder of what was stolen from us, the investment we made in our new life.  Instead of being apologetic, the company's response was extremely inconsiderate and condescending. When I asked the head of the company why they had the truck parked in an area with a known high rate of crime, he insisted they did everything right. He obviously doesn't care about their customers. Specifically, the trust their customers put in with his company. They obfuscate any options customers can take for legal recourse- such as what's in the contract we sign etc- in a bid to save money on their end. They also suggested I blamed the driver, this is not true. I felt terrible that he had to deal with all of this by himself and I even gave him a nice tip!  I've been trying to forget about what happened in the past because I get upset every time I think about it. Not only did his response infuriated me, it's taking them FOREVER to replace our stuff! I also keep noticing more stuff missing every day but there's nothing we can do about it now. He offered free no obligation survey to give me more accurate estimate. He showed up on time and gave me tips to save money during our walk. Afterwards he followed up and addressed all my questions and concerns. On moving day two guys showed up on time with all necessary equipment and did a fantastic job. They packed my big furniture items, covered my glass table and glass top furniture very professionally. They did not waste any time. They were constantly moving around all the time and focused on the job. After the move, Mike followed up and made sure i was happy with the move. I definitely recommend PDX movers. I hired this company for an interstate move in early July for the weekend of July 24/25. Bottom line is, they were horrible! I was assured the truck and movers would arrive for loading between 8 and 9 am on the 24th, and had based all my personal travel, lodging, and perishables storage plans accordingly. After 2 weeks of preparatory emails and phone calls from their "move coordinators," I was confident they would come through for me. When they failed to show up, I started calling and was given a bunch of excuses about their various problems from other "outcalls" the previous night. THEY ENDED UP BEING FIVE HOURS LATE! I could go on and on here about how much worse this made an already stressful situation like an interstate move, but I think you get the sad picture. Oh, and as a postscript, about a week after the move, I got a form email from them saying how sorry they were I did NOT choose them as my movers! Now, THAT'S coordination! PDX Movers failed to deliver the timely services they promised and that I paid for and never offered even a slight discount.....only meaningless excuses for their egregious performance. The response from the business does not make sense. I did not request a service upgrade. The upgrade was complimentary from Allen; he offered it because the delivery failed to happen on the first attempt. Incidents happen and like I said, I understand that part. What I did not understand was the lack of communication. Noone could have called when the truck was full on Saturday? Noone could have called beforehand on Sunday saying they were in fact on their way (instead of calling me saying they were 10 mins away)? Allen actually called me on Monday and apologized. It was a sincere apology which I have accepted. However the response from the business sounds phony. Please just admit it was your fault instead of looking for excuses. read more

But they adapted and provided extremely professional services. Another moving company was assisting another family in our 4th floor apartment complex. Only one elevator available. A team of five movers, JoshE, Frank, Isiah, Jaylen, and Jahrin showed up in the morning and set to work immediately for an all day local move from Portland to Vancouver. They showed experience in disassembly, wrapping and protecting the furniture and property. They took direction and last minute changes well. They started the clock upon arrival and stopped the clock with the last item placed in the new home. Not a minute was wasted. The advanced people did an excellent job estimating what was needed and explaining the valuation coverage. Everything went as planned. Important hint when working with a larger team: have things clearly staged and marked; isolate things not being moved away from those that are. These guys are self-directed to get things done fast after the initial walk through and it can be impossible catch mistakes such as loading something that wasn't supposed to be loaded. read more

First of all, the review says San Francisco. This was in PORTLAND! This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a vendor. From the initial quote to the final bill, nothing was completed as agreed. The estimator did a walkthrough prior to move and gave a quote. The bill in the end was twice the quote. They said they charge whatever the final costs add up to and not the estimate. What is the reason for the estimate? First thing they did was back truck into a tree and broke off several branches, 2 scratch marks on an old piece of furniture and workers tracked mud and debris on stairs and carpets. They claim they cannot take their shoes off for safety reasons?? Borrowed tools to take furniture apart. 6 out of 9 workers were new or not trained. No direction or supervision. Parked truck in street instead of driveway so took longer to load. They charged for 2 workers sitting in their car waiting for other workers to arrive. I gave them some pizza and they left scraps and garbage in front of house and in street. Took 3 months to resolve the claim for the scratches and get them fixed. After they sent a check for $350.00 out of $6500. The read my review and told me since I wrote a bad review, I could not cash the check. Blackmail!! read more
