Anthony and Adam are the best. They moved furniture and boxes from a senior residence. They were already known to the manager. We went up to the apartment, a one bedroom. I explained that there were two separate deliveries. After showing them what went where, they packed up and efficiently moved everything. I especially liked that they were on time, that I only had to explain once, that they decided to break the load into two smaller loads, that they were efficient and courteous to the staff at the residence, to me, and to each other! What an amazing company; we hired them as a part of our U-Box storage container rental, but when a long distance mover offered us the same deal as the U-Boxes, we cancelled their service. Still, the owner, Anthony, remained in touch with us, readily available and offering his guidance without charge. Anthony and Antonio did a good job moving the heavy stuff; we helped with the lighter boxes. They were personable and professional to work with and Anthony gave me a tip about turning off the water when we vacation that will likely come in handy. I did, however, feel a bit bummed when they left after about 1.55 hours when I'd paid for 2 hours. Yes, everything was unloaded from the truck, but over the phone, Anthony had offered to help set up beds, and when I mentioned that, he clearly didn't want to. With his help, it would have only taken about twenty minutes and he still would have gotten out (slightly) early or could have taken off right at the two hour mark if he'd wanted. I did offer to pay for any extra time; I was not trying to take advantage and never would have thought of loft/bed assembly if he hadn't previously mentioned it. All in all, good service and we're planning to set up the bed today (4 days later, it's been busy), so it will get done, they just didn't go the "extra mile." If all you need is stuff moved in and/or out, these guys are plenty adequate and personable. read more

Very very disappointed in the dishonesty from this company. Patrick is very dishonest. Patrick and 2 others who assisted arrived at my home to help us move a couple units down (500ft) from current place. I specifically told Patrick to let me know in advance if any materials (which cost extra) would be needed for any fragile items. Patrick agreed with my request. Patrick failed to communicate with me, began wrapping items with Saran Wrap. Patrick wrapped nearly all of my furniture, without my acknowledgement and consent. I was quoted 700 and some change for my move. My total cost was $1,700. 1,000 more than what Chris (manager) had told me it would be. They loaded all of my items onto the truck and advised me of the 1,700 I would need to pay before they could unload my furniture to the new place. I immediately called Chris to dispute the charges, he told me he would sit down with Patrick to go over the cost after my payment. Chris has ignored my emails and phone calls. Patrick is a liar and his manager is very dishonest as well. I am beyond disappointed with this moving company. Dishonest people, liars!!!! I will never again use them or recommend them, I will be seeking legal actions against falsification of needed materials read more

I've used Peace of Mind at least 5 times, and every time I've had an awesome experience. It always amazes me how quickly and efficiently they get the job done. I own a lot of stuff, and used Peace of Mind to pack up my u-haul for my last move which was to Los Angeles. I rented a smaller truck amd was worried it wouldnt all fit. Not only did they get it all in, there was room to spare. Theres a science to packing the truck, especially important for longer distances through mountains, and these guys have it down. I used an l.a.-based company to unpack the truck, and even they were impressed by how well the truck was loaded. Nothing broke, my gas mileage was good (packing a uhaul well improves gas mileage) and they got the job done so quickly. All the guys I've worked with have been professional and very friendly, and the pricing was very affordable. Once I used Peace of Mind to help me bring home an elliptical. Anthony came solo and used his own truck so I could save money by not having to rent one. Not once have they shown up late- in fact, theyre usually a few minutes early. To summarize, I very, very, VERY highly recommend Peace of Mind. They are true to their name... Moving is stressful enough- let these guys make your life a little easier. read more

My initial experience with Anthony was absolutely wonderful. However, there are a few problems I encountered with my experience that I will note. First, his customer service skills and demeanor were very pleasant. He was polite, on his feet with communication, and very punctual with his arrival time and time loading the truck. For this, I am very grateful and pleased. However, while loading, my girlfriend (who was present at the time Anthony and his assistant were at my house), my girlfriend had to tell them multiple times to not pack certain items, which she had explained everything before they started. She noticed they were just tossing a lot of things into the truck, which struck her as not very cautious with the items being loaded. Upon arrival to my new house, I found damage done to a lot of items that did not have damage before. Dents and scuffs on my appliances, stains on my couch cushions from them putting treated wood boards on the tan colored upholstery, and damage done to wood furniture items from shoving them in between other items that could cause such damage. I understand that while in the truck is in motion, things may shift and move around. However, I believe that as a professional moving company, they would know this already and load the items with these things in mind. If I still lived in the Sacramento area and ever had to move again, I would not hire them again. read more

Perhaps you could book this company if you have time and a lot of patience to spare. But if you're on a schedule and need responses within a decent time window, this is *not* the company for you. They'll give you about a day's range for the move but won't set a time range. They also claim that most moving companies don't set time ranges, which is definitely not the case-- most companies will at least confirm that they'll arrive in the am or pm. They're friendly, but they're not punctual in the least. You might have to wait until the day after the date of your booking for a move. On top of this they don't have a deposit policy. So if you need to go with a back-up company because of timing issues, then consider your deposit gone. read more

These guys are fantastic. I moved from LA to Sacramento area and contracted them on the word of a company in LA. It was a difficult move and we ran in to problerms with the house. They were very understanding and we a two hour window to get everything off 2 trucks and into the house. They did it with time to spare and it cost less than I was expecting. I tipped an extra hour's rate and it was still less than I expected. Will definately use them again on the next move! UPDATE. I moved again on Wednesday. I didn't find the move date until the day before. I called Anthony on the hope that he would be available on such short notice. Thank God he was able to fit us in. This time is was packing and unpacking a 26 ft truck. Two story house and a garage that looked like a landfill exploded. Anthony and Andre showed up on time and got down to business. They worked fast and non-stop, including appliances, a refrigerator that needed the doors removed to fit through the doors....They packed the truck to top and to the end. We couldn't have fit another air molecule. They got the job done and at a price that was better than reasonable. I just wish I was carrying more cash to tip them with. I used Peace of Mind last week to help move me out of my Sacramento 2 bed duplex with a packed garage into a 10x30 storage unit 30 minutes away in Dixon. The owner, Anthony brought one other mover, "John" to help. I wasn't completely packed when they arrived and there helped pack 12-15 boxes worth of goods that they helped pack while loading. My experience: Pros: -Anthony is very friendly and works hard and fast. -The pricing was very competitive. -Anthony was flexible, and never balked at any of my requests. -Anthony came to my house to do a free walk-through estimate and was very clear in his communications. Cons: -The help he brought was friendly but clearly inexperienced and Anthony was doing little to guide him, at least that I saw. He would stack and move boxes and items with jarring force that heavily rattled the contents or make a box underneath buckle. He taped boxes very haphazardly so they were misshapen and would not stack well. One medium size box was overstuffed with kitchen appliances such that two of the sides were severely buckled out without even stacking the box. - I was displeased with their stacking/storing methods in general. I have a brand new dryer that arrived to the storage unit with several unappealing abrasions/scratches on the top surface which was previously perfect. I noticed afterward. Also, despite the padding I had available, Anthony stacked a pair of bedside tables top-against-top, with the surfaces directly contacting and at risk for easy scraping/abrasion damage. The same was done with two kitchen tables. None of these are antiques or high end furniture, or in pristine condition, but would be at risk for damage nonetheless. Two of my oil paintings were stored un-boxed,un-covered, leaning against one another face-to-face, again despite me having "mirror boxes" available and plenty of packing paper, bubble wrap, etc. - Lack of organizational assistance on unloading. Unloading my items into storage unit I there was a disconnect between what I was wanting from them and what was happening. I tried to communicate a general plan and tried to get some "expert" advice for maximizing the accessibility of the items I needed accessible, but they seemed in a hurry and not that interested in trying to agree on/ comply with a plan. At one point I assumed and asked if they had another job that they were trying to rush off to, but Anthony answered no. Ultimately I later returned to the storage unit and spent three hours reorganizing with a friend. I much rather would have paid Anthony an extra hour to put more effort into careful organization of the items and getting it right the first time. Moving is abrasive and there's bound to be some damage in the process, I realize this. I doubt any moving company is perfect at everything, and I realize that "thorough" and "cheap" don't really coexist. I thanked and tipped both Anthony and John, however next time I will probably try out a different company. read more
