This was the first time they accommodated me and I got a mani/pedi done my Carol. It's her place and the pride she takes in her staff and her work is unbelievable. Carol wants to listen to your needs and your day (like an therapist who is doing your cuticles). She catered to my needs and understood I'm not a girly girl, so getting my nails done in gray and blue was a super treat. She spent time to listen and to laugh -- she and her staff (super high 5s for Nicole and Sandra at the front desk) were unbelievably fun and excited for us to have a great time. Having folks who want you to have a good time and the best possible spa experience makes the entire experience more than a treat. You want to go back because, like Cheers, everyone knows your name and everyone knows your aches and pains and if you want pretty blue on your toes! The Botanical is inside the Marriott so parking is not an issue. Always try to call a day or two ahead of time to get the time you want (even though they accommodated us since we were coming in from out of town). They are not pushy with buying "extra" services or supplies or goodies -- they advise you if you like what they used or what you smell (the place always smells incredible). They are on time and courteous if running late. You will feel like a million bucks without paying a million bucks. The pricing is more than fair and the results are absolutely wonderful! We found the Botanical Spa & Salon on Amazon Local. So to make sure we could use the deal immediately (as in next day), I called before purchasing to make sure they would accept it. The guy told me that I didn't need to buy the deal and they would honor the price. You would just pay them instead of paying Amazon, so that's what we did. They happened to have a slot open so the timing worked for us. Turns out, it wasn't actually a couples massage. You're actually in separate, adjoining rooms, and they just leave that door open. That's fine but if that's the case, they shouldn't advertise it as a "couples massage." Other than that, the massage was nice - nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. The deal also included an add-on service, which was either a back scrub or a foot mask. I opted for the back scrub. They were a little rough on that but it was worth it because my back felt really smooth afterwards. With a massage, you also get access to their fitness center, hot tub, and pool. There's also a locker room and showers but the showers are pretty dismal-looking. One of the two doesn't even have a soap/shampoo dispenser. I probably wouldn't be back because the facilities didn't seem too spa-like (especially when you're sharing with hotel guests, since it's located within the Marriott). Plus, I feel like I could find a better deal elsewhere.

The scrub can be from 30-50 minutes and then a hydrating massage for 30 minutes to 45 after. This was my first time doing it at this spa. I called and they said that the scrub is 45 minutes and the massage is the same. For $20 more you can extend the massage for an addition 30 minutes. They also mentioned they have a sauna which is free. I asked for the 2 hour Urban Vacation. It is little over two hours before closing so they did not want to accommodate so I chose the 90 minute Eastern Indulgence (Korean Body Scrub). They asked from payment first, so I paid $130, then they took me to a room and gave me a towel. About 7 minutes later she comes back and took me to the wet room. No robe, no slippers which was odd. We entered the room and it was freezing. I told her it was cold; she ended the scrub after 10 minutes and put me in a cold sauna room. After about 4 minutes it got warm. In about 3 minutes we head to the massage room. The room was nice and warm, but the massage was terrible. I asked for a stronger massage, but it did not get stronger. It was not good. While in the room she complained that business is slow, and she comes from palisade park to work there. After 70-75 minutes in total, she said all done. I told her that she cut it short, she stated that I came in 90 minutes ago. She left and came back with water. She seemed nice and I gave her $50 tip on a $130 massage. She asked for more and told me that $50 is not enough for 90 minutes. I was shocked. I told her the scrub was shortened, the time was shortened as it included the time to pay, her to set up and the sauna. She got nasty and I left. In summary, the cozy Spa offers clean environment. However, the inconsistency in the service from the industry standards and their menu along with lack of gratitude was disappointing to say the least. I would suggest staying clear of this spa. The 2nd lady tried to upsell me by suggesting more time, but I kindly declined. She was better at massaging compared to the 1st one. Those 30mins spent there will be a core memory for a while until something else takes its place in the memory bank. At the price of $45 plus a tip for 30mins, I would've expected something better than what I got, but that's on me, and I learned a valuable lesson. Tl; Dr? Don't go for a full-body massage. If you are, carry your own towel/blanket and don't have high expectations. The area for the foot massages looked alright, so maybe opt for that. Check out their Google reviews.
