Service was great. Cobbler was fantastic. Will be back to try more flavors. There are multiple desserts - not just cobbler.

I have been in the Alexandria, LA probably a dozen times in the last two years for breakfast. The…read morebreakfast is pretty good (if you can get it hot)! I don't understand why there is always 3 to 5 orders just sitting at the pickup area for 10 to 20 minutes waiting to get picked up by the waitresses who don't seem to be in a hurry to deliver the meals in a timely manner (while still hot). The time before my last visit, I asked to have my Waffle first before the rest of the breakfast so it would be hot when I got it. I waited 20 minutes and asked my waitress about it and she had not put the order in!!! Not the brightest bulb on the tree! When she finally brought the waffle to my table, I put the back of my hand to the waffle, and it was barely warm with ice-cold butter on top "and" she delivered the rest of my order (eggs, country ham, hashbrown, grits and toast, all also just lukewarm and the eggs & toast were cold. She brought me another "hot" order and looked at me like I had horns! The last couple of times I have eaten there I have sat at the counter on a stool literally 3 feet from the food pickup area so the cook can pass my plates to me as they come off the grill nice and hot! Nobody wants lukewarm or cold food. The solution is too easy, either they have a food expediter to immediately pick up the food and get it right out to the table and/or ring the bell that an order is ready and so the waitresses hear it or know it is calling her, if the restaurant has four waitresses the cook should ring the bell four times in succession, if there are only two or three waitresses then just ring the bell twice or three times. If there is a manager, he/she needs to make sure the waitresses and cooks are on the same page and more of a sense of urgency to get the food out hot! IF THEY EXPECT A NICE TIP! If I get good hot food and good professional service, typically leave a 25% or more tip, but these waitresses are lucky if I leave $2. I left two stars because of the issues afore mentioned. If I were grading just the food, it would be 5 stars.

The staff was extremely nice, even for our large group, The food came out hot and fresh fairly quickly, and tasted very good. just an overall good experience. And for being down south of all the places i went to too and ordered sweet tea, this was the only place that i felt like actually had sweet tea.

She poured me a cup of coffee to start out with and their coffee is delicious. I ordered the veggie omelette/ hash browns / and wheat toast. All super delicious. Service by CHELSEA was excellent... served with a beautiful smile, friendly personality, and efficient service. Thank you CHELSEA for make my breakfast wonderful starting my day with that beautiful smile. Ambiance has that coffee shop vide which I love. Traveling from Las Vegas... I tend to look for these non chain breakfast spots... and this one did not disappoint. Highly Recommend Mickey's .

At 74, I've eaten breakfast at a lot of places that when you left you felt satisfied. May I suggest you try the breakfast at Bracato's on Coliseum to see value for the money paid. Case in point a large pancake, 3 strips of thick bacon 2 eggs to order, biscuit & gravy and a "large bowl" of grits and free coffee for about $12. I'm busting when I leave there as when I left after eggs 2 thin pieces of bacon, your 2 small pancakes, small bowl of grits and glass of milk, I felt like I needed to stop for an Egg Macmuffin. Also, you may try any of Huddle House breakfasts which are also large enough to satisfy an appetite (and they have a large piece of Country Ham (salt cured). When I was stationed in San Diego, there was this old dumpy-looking place 30 miles east of San Diego out in the middle of nowhere named Jane's Country Kitchen. Driving by you could easily miss it and drive by because it looked so run-down, but the 30 or so people waiting in line to get in gave it away. The place had about 6 booths and 4 or 5 tables that had mis-matched chairs. There was one waitress and the cook manning this huge grill. Their specialty was Omelets (6 eggs and up) that were served on a large oval plate, which came with bacon, sausage, ham or country ham and biscuits & gravy, or just biscuits or toast or pancakes...a very large portion of home fries. I would struggle to eat it all and be miserable for 3 or 4 hours....and go back the very next Saturday. Moral of this story is if you serve your customers and give them value for their money, you will see more customers who have been told by other "satisfied" customers how great your food is and you will see a line forming to eat at your establishment. The restaurants that don't get this concept, will eventually be shuttering their door because the customers find greater bang for the buck at other eating establishments. Just something to ponder.
