VERY BERRY STUFFED FRENCH TOAST
Maria M.

Our first time was nothing special but our second time going - wow delicious! I left so satisfied with the portions and flavor! The service was pretty quick which was the cherry on top. The wait was about 15 minutes on the Saturday morning we went!

Great first experience this morning here at PVC in Mount Dora! My thanks to the lovely Jessica who served me at the counter, with efficiency and friendliness. My breakfast was very good - the stuffed French Toast with raspberry and blueberry compote and marscapone cream in the middle. The compote, to me, was mostly blueberry but the French Toast overall was delicious. You know it's good when you don't bother with a drop of syrup. It was super tasty - all on its own. This large, open restaurant is as full of Southern charm as the dessert display was of towering cakes (Orange Dreamsicle! I drool.). I can see why this place is hopping on the weekends - seating available inside and outside. They have a You Pick 2 Deal ($12.99) for lunch where you can get soup or salad and a half sandwich. I look forward to coming back to see what else is cookin' up in this Peach-y Valley Café.

We had a great experience today with a group of nine people. Our server was Keara I believe. She was very attentive and everything was properly handled. The food came out fast even for our group size and made as requested. I got the half French toast with some sides and the apple fritters were delicious. The hot coffee was just ok - if you're picky about coffee you may want to order one of their special coffees.

Update, 2nd time visiting, we had chicken and waffles, malt, and a pancake,. Awesome. Say hello to Mellony. Tastes delicious Naz ************** Hi Everyone. This place is too good for you. Food is homemade, from scratch, hot, and tasty. Don't bring your mom or kids because that means I will always get a seat. I will always come back to this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. By the way say hello to my favorite server Jessica, who tend to you like a mom. Mmmmmm...mmmmmm...good food. This old Marine loves this food. Naz

Food and service was good, but what I like most was their peach hot sauce. Perfect for someone like me who cannot tolerate really spicy food. I took several with me.

Was visiting Mount Dora for the weekend. Was looking for a great breakfast spot and heard of this possible gem. As I enter the restaurant it was full of people eating and having a nice conversation while they ate. We were seated pretty quick. Where our dissatisfaction began was with the waiter. She literally had an RBF and no personality. As much as I attempted to engage in small talk she was direct and seem bothered. The coffee was horrible so I decided to order a small orange juice which was nasty. I order the "FIESTA RANCHEROS" plate and my home fries where nasty and burnt. The eggs where mediocre...eggs are not hard to make so I was confused why they lack flavor. In the end I just attempted to scrape parts of my food that was appealing. Despite the ambience of the place is really nice...the food and waiters service SUCK! and to add to the wound the total price for two was $53 dollars. I won't be returning to this place.

Protein Avocado Toast with Eggs

I had brunch with my girlfriends on Sunday. I ordered the Protein Avocado Toast with Eggs and a side of berries and bananas. I was disappointed that the Avocado was not traditional Avocado, it was an Avocado spread which was just ok. It has a sprinkle of black beans in it some tomato on top. My eggs that I ordered was under cooked and real runny. The berries and bananas were good.

Great breakfast spot! The single pancake is huge and absolutely delicious. The biscuit was light and fluffy -- a perfect complement to the meal. I also had a build-your-own omelette and a half-order of French toast, all of which were excellent. The servers were attentive, the waitstaff was pleasant, and there's plenty of outdoor seating with misty fans and parking. Highly recommend!

We had breakfast on the outdoor patio. It was so nice even with every table full. My husband had the western omelette and I had the traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, grits and a biscuit. The food was delicious and served efficiently and hot. Prices were reasonable too.

Nice environment and friendly staff. Philly cheese steak croissant Benedict is delicious. My omelette was yummy, but bacon wasn't good. Good coffee. Unfortunately they were out of brownies and chocolate cake.

The Southern burger was great, but I tossed off the raw onions as I absolutely hate them, and added the lovely pickled onions from my wife's salad, which gave the perfect amount of flavor and color. Don't you agree? Give me a LIKE if you do !!! The crepe was next level. Delicate crepe, very soft ripe bananas, sauce was not disgustingly sugary, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and soft, not icy and sweet. Dunno what brand they use, or if they churn the cream fresh in-house, but it made my day.

Driving back to Georgia after a visit to the mouse and wanting to limit our exposure to the I-4…read moretraffic, we drove through the charming town of Mount Dora. There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

So, a little threadbare never killed anybody. My first Sunday brunch here was pleasant (though I'm hesitant to pay about $25 for breakfast anywhere these days). I made my reservation online easily enough. Breakfast here finishes at 10a and then brunch service begins at 11a. Justin was super friendly when I arrived and I was seated and had already placed my Grand Slam order with OJ by 11:05a. That's pretty dang good. My server, Lisa, was very charming and - when I asked - she seemed to know quite a bit about the restaurant and hotel. The coral dining room is where I ate, they do not take reservations for sitting at the outdoor tables. The Grand Slam comes with eggs, your choice of bacon or sausage (patties), and potatoes or grits, with 4 small pancakes. The sausage and pancakes were very good, the potatoes well-seasoned, but the scrambled eggs left a lot to be desired. I would order fried eggs if you're looking for something fresher. The juice was delicious (no pulp), but $4 for one glass is just crazy. The water, I will say, was actually good - which pleasantly surprised me. You always want the water at a restaurant to be good - that's what they cook the food in. If not the Grand Slam, I'd bet the Belgian Waffle is a solid bet. I just can't get over how expensive breakfast, brunch, and lunch are these days. The Grand Slam came out to $18 but you DO get a very good portion of food for your money.
