Brunch at Peach Valley Café was absolutely fantastic. My mom and I came in for brunch and everything--from the food to the service--was top-notch. She ordered the smoked salmon and bagel, and I had the fiesta rancheros. Both dishes were out of this world delicious. The home fries deserve a special shout-out: hands down the best I've ever had. Our waitress, Jessica, was phenomenal--super attentive, friendly, and efficient. She was wonderful with us and I noticed her engaging warmly with the other tables too. The whole atmosphere felt friendly and genuinely jovial. We finished with the peach cobbler served warm in a skillet with vanilla ice cream, and it was exceptional. Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and more of a crumbled consistency rather than a traditional crust--which made it even better. Absolutely perfect brunch experience. Loved this place all around! Delicious food, good prices, and dog friendly (outside). The peach valley skillet was my favorite! Great sausage & biscuit gravy... good consistency. They have both heaters and fans outside so it's comfortable with any weather. The staff was overall friendly. We went two different mornings as we were traveling and had a night and day experience with our waitresses. Jessica M is AMAZING and a ball of sunshine. She is very kind and attentive. The other waitress did not seem like she even wanted to be there with very little communication... however, don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Great first experience this morning here at PVC in Mount Dora! My thanks to the lovely Jessica who served me at the counter, with efficiency and friendliness. My breakfast was very good - the stuffed French Toast with raspberry and blueberry compote and marscapone cream in the middle. The compote, to me, was mostly blueberry but the French Toast overall was delicious. You know it's good when you don't bother with a drop of syrup. It was super tasty - all on its own. This large, open restaurant is as full of Southern charm as the dessert display was of towering cakes (Orange Dreamsicle! I drool.). I can see why this place is hopping on the weekends - seating available inside and outside. They have a You Pick 2 Deal ($12.99) for lunch where you can get soup or salad and a half sandwich. Was visiting Mount Dora for the weekend. Was looking for a great breakfast spot and heard of this possible gem. As I enter the restaurant it was full of people eating and having a nice conversation while they ate. We were seated pretty quick. Where our dissatisfaction began was with the waiter. She literally had an RBF and no personality. As much as I attempted to engage in small talk she was direct and seem bothered. The coffee was horrible so I decided to order a small orange juice which was nasty. I order the "FIESTA RANCHEROS" plate and my home fries where nasty and burnt. The eggs where mediocre...eggs are not hard to make so I was confused why they lack flavor. In the end I just attempted to scrape parts of my food that was appealing. He had to use a knife and literally saw through the "pancake". The bacon and coffee were good. They must have an AC system issue. Basic restaurant chain with Southern Charm. We went for breakfast and lunch. Both times the food has been ok and overpriced. Always nice service from the staff. The Food: my partner ordered the basic egg breakfast. He was asked if he wanted to add sausage and said yes. Come to find out it was an upcharge. The sausage was not that great and the additional $4 charge wasn't worth it. I got the stuffed French toast. There wasn't much stuffing at all. I had to dig to find anything. The fruit compote on top was good. The portion size was small for the price we paid. The big white dollop I thought was whipped cream. It was butter . Whoops! Peach Bellini was good. Nothing sparkling (pun intended!). The bubbly was a bit flat with all the juice that was put into the cup. The saving grace was those apple fritters that they are known for. Our server seemed confused and awkward the whole time, and 1/2 our food came out completely wrong the 1st time (he wrote nothing down when we ordered). None of the food was really that great, and didn't seem a very good value or worth the long wait either. The place wasn't busy, but there were employees everywhere and yet, service still wasn't good. The coffee was good though. It took awhile to get our bill, too - despite a manager who looked me in my eyes and quickly diverted to avoid addressing whatever our issue was.
