Talk about an establishment ruining what's supposed to be a magical experience. The whole experience is off from the jump. Can't help your child try on rely on stranger to see your child half naked and help them that's not weird at all. No pictures so no way to compare how you look in different dresses. We needed a size 6 and the employees swore the dress wouldn't come in time for the event and that the 8 was brand new so it would fit the same as a 6 off the floor. All lies found out via online a 6 would come in time and it fit perfectly much better than the 8. The first set of alterations were estimated to be cheaper than the second set and with the second dress we needed less done. We told them at the second set of alterations that they initially talked about switching the cups out and the seamstress said it wasn't necessary with this dress and that she wouldn't recommend it as long as my daughter was comfortable because the bigger cups would show more. Great no cups! No problem. Come to pick the dress up and they've added cups and I'm telling them the seamstress said no and you definitely did and they show more and the woman wants to argue about how it doesn't make a difference and she doesn't think they did. Ma'am you just said they did. We'll have her take it off so we could see. Low and behold they did. But why are you arguing with me where is your customer service. This is supposed to be exciting for my daughter and it's not. When you're spending $1000+ in an establishment on a dress for a high school prom the expectation is good customer service at the minimum. And then my dress did not have a price tag on it. Brand new dress supposedly shipped to them straight from manufacturer, why doesn't it have a price tag, never on the floor a little sus. Glad this is the only time I will ever need to shop here. The service here is horrible. We walked in from three hours away and were told we can not try on any dresses today because they close in a half hour. My Mom & I go there for all of my school dance events...homecoming, turnabouts, prom, etc. We also go there for our social events in the city and my Mom is able to get all of her dress needs there too!! They are a huge supplier of prom dresses, but carry dresses for all occasions!! It is so amazing the store set up and the way they have a sales associate work one on one with you!! They had so many dresses to choose from....it was endless!! Everyone who works there is so friendly and amazing!! Went to try on prom dresses with my sister. The sales associates were not very helpful and not clear on what to do. They did not to seem to care about helping her out. After she tried on a dress, she found one she really liked and the sales associate said they can only get it for her in cotton candy pink. These seem like poor sales tactics if someone wants to buy a dress. So we found another place that will order us the same dress in the color she would like in the same brand. This store is always packed so try not to go on weekend. Have bought several event dresses from this store for my daughter while in high school because they do have a good selection. Be careful to examine the dress before you buy- no returns + these dresses are tried on repeatedly. Last one was $650 - in a hurry and did not check- stained and dirty on underlayers, had snags/runs in the exterior tulle layer and the beading was falling off in multiple places. $650 for damaged item. This was on us because they are very clear regarding their policy. Be aware no discounts/ sales- don't expect to find any bargains you will be paying full price. Pros When walk in someone greets you They have a system that will go by the school and make sure not buying dress someone else has at same school Cons Dresses over priced...Same dress at Macy's $300 at Peaches $590. You aren't allowed to help child put on dresses. They were like parent/guardian not allowed in dressing room but associate is allowed. I'm sorry your not getting in with my child while not clothed. You can't take pictures of child in the dresses so can get others opinions from people not out shopping with child (e.g. Grandmother who is home with granddaughter who can't move around) This place really saddened me because we had such beautiful experiences at other shops and this one treated us like a piece of cattle with the perception we would steal the look of the dress and potentially copy and buy with the Chinese. THEY MARK UP THEIR IN STORE PRICES HUGE OVER WHAT THEY SELL THE SAME DRESS FOR ONLINE!! They have a large selection of dresses that the girls really like to wear. But you are making a HUGE mistake if you buy from their store. I just paid $519 last night for the exact same dress that I found out today that Peaches sells online for $450- of course they don't tell you that when you are in the store. When I called the store to ask why I was charged $69 more to buy the dress in the store than I would have been if I had bought it online, I was told it was because my daughter got to try it on.... REALLY?!?! She could have tried it on at your store anyway, then logged online from her cell phone and ordered it from you and gotten free shipping!! Although she would have had to order it from the parking lot as customers are not allowed to use their cell phones in the store. Nor are moms allowed to go near their daughters dressing room while they try on the dresses.-- just a little of the $69 worth of customer service compliments of Peaches. The girls who work at the store are nice enough, but the management treat customers like they are all criminals. The best place in Chicago area to go for a dress is the Prom Shoppe in Oswego. They have a nice selection, fair prices and are really helpful. They don't treat you like you are about to run out of the store with an armful of stolen dresses, like they do at Peaches. The Prom Shoppe dresses were in good shape, not the make up stained messes we saw last night at Peaches. They even let my daughter take a picture on her cell phone of two dresses that she couldn't decide between to send to her friends to get their vote. We spent about $100 less on that dress than Peaches was selling the same dress for, and got it in a MUCH nicer atmosphere.. I guess a Place like The Prom Shoppe doesn't care if you take a pciture of their dresses because they aren't trying to keep you from finding out that you are being price gouged!! I would return the dress to Peaches (which has beads falling off it even though it is barely 10 hours from the store and has never been worn). But of course a place like Peaches has a no return policy. Do your self a favor. Go to the Prom Shoppe in Oswego. If that is too far away and you have to endure Peaches, go there, try on the dress you like and find the right size, then LEAVE IT, and go find it for $69 less online. read more

This is a late review- I used to but every dress I needed.from peaches, but after my last experience, never again. Although their customer service is impeccable, I didn't like being lied to about the condition of my dress. I tried on a dress, and fell in love with it although it needed some alterations and without them even knowing if it could be done the women helping me quickly told me it could be done. Apparently there were also beading issues with the dress and I was told to leave it at the store so they could fix it. After picking it up I still noticed problems with the dress and when I took it to the seamstress ( THEIR SEAMSTRESS) she told me the dress was missing a bra cup. They sold me a damaged dress for full price. I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Peaches Boutique used to be so much better. Then they implemented all these rules, and the girls employed by Peaches were VERY rude - no customer service skills. I wouldn't base this review from one experience. I used to come here all the time, I have purchased plenty of dresses from Peaches in the past. They're one of the only stores that have so many designer dresses in stock - to see in person - which is why I give the 2 stars. Other than that, everything else is horrible. As I mentioned, I've purchased a lot here. My last experience I purchased 3 designer dress, my sister was purchasing, and my 4 sister in laws were purchasing - but I could not get over how rude the employees were, they got me soo mad. I was spending about $2000.00 myself, not including the others. For a group of people spending so much money, customer service should be more of a concern, especially now that they lost all of us as customers. The other thing I hate is that they won't provide any info over the phone, and I have a long drive from this boutique. It suckedd that I would have to drive all the way over there to find out whether they had a dress in stock or not that I saw on their website. Also, it is convenient to have a one-stop shop for your dress, alterations, and jewelery. However everything is super overpriced. The dresses are understandable because they're all designer dresses that pretty much have a standard price where ever you shop - give or take 5 or 10 % But as for alterations and accessories, those are priced too high. Lastly, they used to have an annual sale I'm not sure if they still do it... But for this sale, you're not allowed to try on the dresses. Which defeats the purpose of finding a store to look for a dress you like. In that case, (in my opinion) you might as well stick to looking and purchasing online because you can find great deals online. Again, designer dresses usually have standard prices. If it's on sale at one place, it's going to be on sale several other places/websites. So if I can't try it on in-store, I'd rather save myself the drive and order online. I had been to a few other stores before coming to peaches, and the difference between them in tremendous. You only get to start with three dresses in the dressing room, but if you liked others after trying on a few you can bring in other dresses. The wait for a room wasn't long, and they check before you try on any dresses to see if someone from your school has already purchased it. I tired on 4 different dresses in total, the girl who was helping me was named Klaudia, she could have said I looked good in the most expensive dress I tried on, but she said I looked good in the one I ended up getting, which happened to be the least expensive of the 4 I tried on. This shows that they really care about their customers being happy with the dress they end up with. They also steamed and fixed a few beads on my dress for free, overall a great experience! read more

Unbelievable Selection of Prom, Bridesmaid and Quinceanera Dresses We live on the north side of the city and when it was time to buy a dress for our daughter's quinceanera, I had no idea where to go. I cannot believe our luck that we somehow found this place (and I cannot BELIEVE that no one has reviewed it on Yelp -- what is wrong with you people??). People literally come in from Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana to shop here. The selection is simply amazing. Peaches is nothing to look at from the outside, believe me. It's located in a strip mall near Midway. And it's website is nothing to write home about, either. But, just wait 'til you get inside. It has, seriously, the largest selection of the very nicest prom, quince and bridesmaid dresses I have ever seen. (and a wide range of prices, too) Supposedly they have 10,000 dresses in their warehouse, with just a fraction displayed on the floor. It's VERY well organized -- you take a number and wait a turn while you browse the samples on the floor. When your turn comes, you show your consultant which dresses you like, and she starts bringing you armloads of dresses in your size (the ones you picked out plus oodles more from the warehouse). If you can't find a dress there, good luck because they have pretty much everything..... One last comment. It's really fun, too, because all of the girls sitting around waiting their turn, plus all of the moms and friends and sisters, serve as the audience for the young women as they come out of the dressing rooms modeling the dresses. It was truly a fun afternoon for my daughter, her friend and me. In fact, we called my husband (who was flying into Midway that afternoon) and had him come over and join the fun! read more

The most horrible experience I have had in a long time. Me and my daughter arrived 15 minutes early upon opening and waited in line until they opened. A lady came outside and told us that we needed to get a number and gather in the middle of the store for an announcement of the "rules" of the store. I should have left at that moment but I had promised my daughter that for her senior prom I would drive the 45 minutes to Peaches to find her her dream dress! So they continued with the "rules" basically telling us that we could not use our phones for any reason without any type of explanation. Also that before the girls could get a dressing room the HAD to pick three dresses from the floor even if they were not the dresses they came to buy. Also you had to have the three dresses before you could have someone print out the dresses that you my have found online as well. So needless to say people were practically running around the store going as fast as they could so that they could get a dressing room first which meant the number they had given you when you came in, was merely used as identification for you and not a placement for which you would get your dressing room. When that was happening me and my younger daughter were both being pushed around and both experienced a ton of anxiety. Again at that moment I should I have left but once again I remembered my promise to my daughter and just tried to go with the flow. Once we we grabbed three dresses that she didn't want because we couldn't find the ones we were there for we went up to the lady to print out the ones my daughter had found online. We had all of the style numbers except for one because when she screen shot it earlier it you couldn't see the style number and didn't have time to look further because they called her for her dressing room. We went to the dressing room area and my daughter stood outside the door waiting for the girl to bring her her first dress to try on. All of the mothers were all lined up around 10 feet from the end of the last dressing room and couldn't go any closer. I have never been to a store where I couldn't help my daughter get in and out of dresses or be in the dressing room with her. While I was waiting for her to get into her first dress, I was on my phone, looking for the style number for the one dress that we couldn't find on Peaches website standing far back and thought it was OK since there were other people on theirs, and was approached by and older women with dark hair and was told I couldn't be on my phone. I know that was a "rule" but I was far back I wasn't taking pictures and I was on their website. I couldn't have walked back to the print out station or I would have missed my daughter coming out of the dressing room with the first dress on. At that moment I should have left, but again I remembered my promise and bit my tongue. I did mudder however that I thought there "rules" were ridiculous and that's when the older women walked in front of all the mothers and announced that even though we may think their "rules" are ridiculous that that was policy and we must follow them or leave. Then I realized that all of the fun of shopping with your daughter for her senior prom was being taken away minute by minute. After my daughter tried on about 6 dresses that she wasn't there for, they finally brought out two of the six she gave them the style number for because they didn't have them in stock! At that point a women came on a loud speaker and said " Girls if your not sure what kind of dress you want, you must give up your dressing room and get back in line and get a new number and start over again because there are other girls waiting and we want to give them a chance as well". It was about 45 minutes into my daughter getting her dressing room when they made that announcement. At that moment my daughter started to panic and asked to try on one of the dresses again to see if that was the one she wanted or if she was going to stick with the one that we had gotten her from another store. They agreed and let her. She still wasn't sure so I told her if she didn't love the dress then we shouldn't get it. She agreed and asked the girl if she decided on that dress could she call and buy it that way. They said yes but to hurry. I want to make very clear that I understand that Peaches is in business to make money and sell dresses but whatever happened to customer service? I felt like cattle being drawn in and out as fast as possible and all they cared about was selling the dress as fast as they could even if the girls weren't sure. They want me to spend anywhere from $500.00 to $750.00 dollars and then they want to rush my child?!?! They want me to stand in line outside in the cold and then they want to rush my child?!?! They basically single handedly took all of the fun out of shopping with my daughter for her last high school prom. I will NEVER step foot in that place again or recommend it to anyone I know!! read more

Always double check online. Don't bother going in on weekends either because you will wait over 2-3 hours for a room unless you're the first one in the door. Save your time and money, go elsewhere and go with any other dress you like and get it. Don't worry about it being name brand or anyone else having the same dress as you because they will, they will just have it in another color. read more

So I purposely drove over an hour to this boutique because of the 'many' plus size designers that they have, well if they have them you wouldn't know it, because there wasn't a dress on the floor bigger than a size 16. Now they tell you, find 3 dresses and we will pull your size from the back, except most of the designers don't go into the plus sizes. So we had no idea what we could even pick from as she was told more than once that the dresses she was looking at didn't come in her size. I will say the girl that was assigned to my daughter did try, but by that time my daughter was defeated. Peaches does have a lot of dresses and I guess they have a bunch of plus size in the back, but what does that say to the plus size teen? After it took 37 days for an "in stock" dress to ship, multiple emails and phone calls, we received the absolutely beautiful dress only to further open a partially sealed garment bag to a prom dress smelling of rotten fish. We are hoping to rid the dress of the putrid aroma prior to my daughter's senior prom. Expect very little of customer service, add at least a month+ for shipping to occur, and don't be surprised to gag when you open the garment bag. Otherwise, the dress is quite nice.... read more

I purchased a dress from the store for a wedding with the impression I would leave with the dress. I was told it would arrive in two weeks and after I paid for it I was told there was not refunds. 3days later I received an email that my dress would arrive in 6 weeks. That does not allow time for alterations before the event. Now I will lose my money and still have go and purchase another dress to have in time for the wedding. I would recommend that you ask questions, before you pay and get what they tell you in writing with a managers signature on it. May daughter is a 2020 Graduating Senior and her prom like many others are cancelled due to the current situation. When I called to see what they would do in this situation they said it wasnt their problem and they are not going to take the dresses back. First off, this is in no way our fault! Second, why is the government not stepping in on this? It is bad enough that these kids are missing on so much that they waited their whole lives for but, the store will not even consider taking these dresses back. Ridiculous to say the least. I went prom shopping for my cousin and right when I came in I could tell it was off. First, the lady was only paying attention to my aunt who was paying and not my cousin who was trying on the dresses. She clearly didn't care if my cousin didn't like it, she was going with the dresses my aunt liked. Then, I asked if I could pull dresses for my cousin and the girl ignored me the first time before my cousin asked her to and she said yes. When we walked away she told me the price range is $300 and when I asked her what about $400 and she walked away from me without even looking at any dresses. Later my cousin told me her budget was $300-400 and the dresses she was trying on were well over $300. Then when my cousin decided on a dress and bought it, they gave her it in the wrong size. I am the mother of a junior in hs and an industrial engineer by degree (this becomes very relevant as you read on). We live in FL but were in the area for a tournament so decided to take an Uber down on a Saturday morning in April to look for a prom dress, since the selection in our hometown area is lacking. This was my dream shopping trip w my daughter, who is NOT a shopper. I did know to register ahead of time. I did know to have her put some dresses on a favorites list. I did not see I needed to print off the list, although that is on the website-see shopping tips-but they did have staff available to print so that slowed us down only a bit (needed this after picking out the 3 dresses). I did not know we couldn't take pics or be on phones until after we got in the store. Although I was bummed about that at first, I completely understand given the extra time that takes. It is also my belief that I would not have had the wonderful interactions w the other moms if I had been using my phone. We arrived about 15 minutes before the store opened and staff came outside to make sure everyone knew about registering and favorites. Peering in the windows and seeing the dresses and size of the store, we knew we had made a good decision. Upon entering my daughter received her number, we listened to the process speech and we were off to look for three dresses. The store had thousands of dresses. Although busy, at least this day, all the dress seekers and moms were friendly and we did not feel rushed. Peaches had an army of employees ready to help. All we had to do was look at a dress and someone was there to ask if we wanted to put it in her room. I did not mind standing back, chatting with other moms-many who were return customers, some on their second and third daughters- and letting the incredibly helpful Peaches team assist my daughter. I fully expected a day arguments w my teen and had NONE. After finding the perfect dress it was off to accessories and shoes. I hadn't planned on shoes, but after talking with the moms- not pressured by staff- and seeing the selection, we decided one stop, for the girl that does not like to shop, was for us. We were in and out within two hours. If you want to help dress your daughter, take pics, etc, this is not the store for you. But if you are like me, a mom who has a schedule, wants a smooth, defined process, wants to leave with a happy daughter and sanity in-check, five stars is not enough for Peaches Boutique. We are seriously going to be discussing a girls trip for her senior year w her friends and their moms. Hey Peaches- any thought to setting up a shop in South Florida??? We ordered a sequin dress that started to fall apart after one hour of wearing it. This was not a cheap dress ($500). It is a Sherrie Hill. It started raveling and sequins were falling off all over. She had to have another older dress brought to her to wear for the rest of her senior prom. Very disappointed in the quality and lack of customer service to respond to my three emails inquiring on how this could be remedied. I wouldn't shop here again. read more

What a horrible experience from the second I walked in to the moment I left. I was told that I was not allowed to have a stroller in the store, there were signs telling people to take their children elsewhere if they are being disruptive, and "no cellphones allowed" signs. Now, I wouldn't be so peeved if there was a sign here or there, but there were signs EVERYWHERE. The sales associates made me feel like a bother rather than a client. There is no sense of professionalism whatsoever. The girls wear t-shirts and black scrub pants. I did not see one smile and the girls looked like they hated their job. Also, the dresses were way overpriced. Long story short, there's no such thing as customer service. The dresses are overpriced, and you're stuck with being told what to do and how to act. Good luck trying to talk to the manager, you'll have better luck talking to a box of rocks. read more

I went into Peaches excited and ready to look for a prom dress. I had one in particular that I had seen on their website that I wanted to try on. This was my first time there, so I wasn't aware of the way they did things. I had to walk around the store and pick out 3 dresses to try on, before I could get the one I had originally came for. I wear around a size 18 to 20, and they did not have a plus size section. She said once I picked 3 dresses, my "sales associate" could find more in my size. I ended up picking 3, only one of which I really liked but I needed to pick at least 3, no more, no less. I showed my "sales associate" the picture of the dress I actually wanted to try on. She left supposedly to get the dress, but never said if they had it in stock or not. I tried on the first two which was a disaster. My "sales associate" did not even offer to help me with the two poofy dresses, and neither were my size so I could barely get them on and off by myself. When I asked for help taking the first one off, she looked at me like I was crazy and reluctantly helped me. After trying the second dress on with no success, I was upset and frustrated. I hadn't even been able to see the dresses on since there were no mirrors in the dressing room, and the "sales associate" was just plain rude and not helpful whatsoever. My "sales associate" had left to look for dresses in a bigger size, and I called my sister into the dressing room to help me take off the second dress. At this point, I just wanted to leave, and when she came back, I told her no to the dresses she brought, which were nothing like what I asked for. I told her I was done, and that I wanted to change back into my clothes. I changed, and we left empty handed. I'm never coming back here again. I'll buy my dresses somewhere else. read more

Went in today to help my 2 cousins look for their senior year prom dress. There is literally no parking on site It's a very crowded place with people running around all over the place. One worker was rude when telling us we were not allowed to use our cellphones in the store. Overall, the workers have bad customer service skills. You are allowed to pick 3 dresses to try on. We got assigned a number and told to wait for it to be called over the Intercom in order to get fitting rooms. It was almost more than an hour for our number to be called. There is no designated area to sit, we had to be standing around. You are better off going elsewhere read more

The online return policies are ridiculous in that they only give you 3 days to decide if you like and want to keep a very overpriced dress. I am very disappointed in the customer service that they offered. Neither, my daughter nor any of her friends will ever use this online store. read more

For us to pay $900 for a dress you would think we could get better customer service. They don't make you feel special here at all. You feel rushed & brushed off. They do have a nice selection but they need to cater to their customers more. Also, they'll tell you they can't order a new dress for you but they can but they still won't! They'll tell you it's gonna be a new dress just to receive the dress off the floor that I'm sure many people have already tried on. Do better by your clients & hire more people of color as well! read more
