A nice environment with really good ice cream and homemade waffle cones at a price that is low by modern standards. What's not to like?

Excellent ice cream and a sweet little place. However I can't give it 5 stars because of their Cookie Dough ice cream. I have ordered this several times, including in a cone and in the prepacked containers and I don't understand why there is almost no cookie dough. It's basically just vanilla. I got one of the quart containers a few weeks ago and there were just 8 tiny chunks of cookie dough in the entire thing, it was just absurd. I actually let it melt all the way through and filtered it to count up the chunks because I was so incredulous. To the business, what the heck?? Nobody who eats Cookie Dough ice cream is hoping for vanilla ice cream with like one morsel of cookie dough. This shouldn't even be called Cookie Dough ice cream. read more

Buyer beware. I went to Peaches and Cream to splurge on 2 half gallons for a party last Saturday because their ice cream is delicious. They had one of the flavors I wanted in a half gallon container for $20.00 dollars. But they were out of Vanilla, my other choice in the half gallon size container. They advertise on their sign inside "hand packed 1/2 gallon for $20.00 dollars." So I asked them to please hand pack 1/2 gallon of Vanilla. They wouldn't do it but because they were out of 1/2 gallon containers so they had to use 2 quart containers. Quarts are $15.00 each So I was charged $20.00 dollars for one 1/2 gallon and $30.00 for the second. All because they ran out of containers!!!! I was asked to pay $10.00 extra for the same amount of ice that they advertised because they neglected to stock the 1/2 gallon containers. I had to on principle leave empty handed. But everyone at the party loved the Carvel ice cream cake. read more

PEACH -- white color; authentic fresh peach taste; very good PEANUT BUTTER -- lighter off-white color or beige; moderate PB taste; very tasty; very creamy; RATING = A (if they added chopped peanut shrapnel it would go max score) MAPLE WALNUT -- off-white color; nice lighter maple syrup taste; authentic taste; very milky and creamy; if there was chopped walnut shrapnel would go from A- to and A; medium sweet or more The MALE associate will not win any EOM awards, but he "eventually" came through with the assist. Ice cream quality is SO fresh and so good. From fresh chopped hazelnuts in the Nutella to fresh chunks of strawberries. They also had some different/ interesting flavors listed such as ginger and cannoli. Portion size is average. Staff were friendly. Layout inside is a little odd with where the flavors section sits out of view and where they have the line starting but the ice cream gets bought all the same. Nice outdoor area to sit. They sell a nice variety of regular, sugar-free, dairy-free ice cream, and sorbets. I scanned their menu board for flavors and saw some cool ones like Cannoli, Chocolate Raspberry Mousse, Peanut Butter Caramel Fudge, Amaretto Almond, Cantaloupe Coriander (Sugar Free ), and Cranberry Walnut. Our two small cups of Nutella ice cream with toasted hazelnuts and Sugar Free Cantaloupe Coriander were under $11. Chocolate sprinkles were $0.75 which is on the high side. We had ice cream last week at Two Sisters in Simsbury and their sprinkles were free. I really loved my Cantaloupe ice cream. Great flavor and it was chock full of real cantaloupe pieces throughout. It reminded me so much of the Cantaloupe Italian ices I used to enjoy as a kid growing up in the Bronx. Peaches and Cream has an outdoor sitting area for maybe half a dozen tables, and that's where we sat and enjoyed our ice cream. read more

I grew up going to Peaches N' Cream and it has hands down been the best ice cream I've ever had. Even when I moved out of town I would make a special stop just to get a waffle cone. For every birthday I would order a cake and it would be delicious! Unfortunately the ice cream just isn't the same and it breaks my heart. The toasted almond no longer has real pieces of toasted almond in it and tastes more like amaretto. The sweet cream now has chocolate chips in it and tastes like your run of the mill vanilla ice cream. New ownership has done a fantastic job renovating the inside but I'm really missing the old ice cream read more

Very cute ice cream shop with a retro feel and a delicious taste. All of their ice cream is made in-house, and they have a large selection of flavors. Additionally they are generous with their portions. The ice cream consistency is fantastic (very creamy!) and the add in's are very fresh, but I would prefer if they had some more add in's in their different flavors. For example, I tried the chocolate chip and, although the flavor was great, there weren't that many chocolate chips in it. The chocolate chips that it did have were real chunks of chocolate however. My son loves this place and used to frequent while he worked in Torrington. He knew immediately what he wanted and got the peaches and cream in a waffle cone. I had to sample to write this review. It was so creamy and fresh and you could really taste the peaches! I ordered a small cup of Heath bar. It was a bit lack luster. I couldn't taste the toffee at all the bits were so small. Ice cream had no discernible taste (cannoli). The chocolate chips were not real chocolate. I requested a sundae. The whipped cream was over whipped (curdled) with no taste and the hot fudge was.....not sure what it was. Two sundaes cost $18.50 and was, not only overpriced, but totally not worth it. This is a cute establishment, one of those places that has been there for "forever". The mint green paint job definitely was popular in a different age, but fits with the decor and feeling. They have flavors of regular ice cream and sorbet, and the prices are reasonable. I received a huge cone with lots of ice cream (referred to as a double) for $6.25 plus tax. If you're a local and came here when Mr. Redente owned the business, you won't like what it's become. It stinks of out of towner. They do not even let you try a flavor before ordering, which the owner told me was "because of COVID." No one was wearing masks or rubber gloves so it isn't clear to me how it's related or relevant now that mask restrictions have ended. If I had been able to try Nutella hazelnut before I ordered, I would not have gotten it. It is basically vanilla ice cream with a few specks of Nutella and a couple hazelnuts. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to taste Nutella in the ice cream. Overall, I was disappointed to see one of my childhood favorites ruined and turned into a destination that caters to the out of town crowd. read more

It was our first trip to Peaches for this summer and we were so sad to go away disappointed. The owners had put a lot of thought into the outside and inside seating. Making it cute, clean, and comfortable for customers. However, the ice cream seemed tasteless more like a grocery store-bought ice cream-nothing special. My xsmall mint chocolate chip cup had 5 chocolate chips in it and very little minty taste to it. The shy, uncertain staff had trouble understanding my husband's request for an ice cream sandwich made with vanilla ice cream. He explained to her it was made with chocolate wafer cookies and vanilla ice cream between the cookies. She interpreted his request as having both vanilla & chocolate ice cream and they would make it this time but not in the future..???? Perhaps IF THEY DROPPED THE MUSIC VOLUME DOWN it would be easier to understand customers? As we sat inside eating our treats an upset customer was speaking to the owner about a past ice cream sundae order that was not made to order. The customer said she requested "hot fudge" and got, "Hershey's syrup"-customer's words. Over and over the owner (or ? manager) said it had to be the ice cream was requested wrong. I found it disturbing the owner just didn't say, "Sorry" and move on to their order. The owner ("manager) finally said to ask for her and she will make their next order next time so it will be made correctly. My husband and I went out for lunch up in Litchfield. On our way home to Torrington I suggested we stop by for a treat. We've driven by it a few times and was always curious. Inside was beautiful! It was very clean and they had tons of flavors to choose from! I honestly couldn't make up my mind. I ended up getting Kaluah coffee and my husband had almond almaretto. Both were delicious! Definitely not what it used to be. Gave it 3 tries and I'm done. Oreo ice cream....not a piece of Oreo cookie to be seen in an entire cup. It--as well as Peanut Butter--just tasted like vanilla. Peanut butter caramel fudge was equally disappointing. For these prices, these cups/cones should be chock full of stuff. I'm way better off getting a pint of Ben & Jerry's, which I know will be exactly as advertised and costs less. To the owner/manager: I'm assuming you're not aware...I suggest telling your staff not to play music with the word f**k" in the lyrics. My kiddos (and their friends) and I have enjoyed this fantastic Ice Cream shop for years. It not only has the best Ice Cream in the area, but the shop itself is quaint and reminiscent of an old time Ice Cream shop. They have a fantastic selection of Ice cream flavors, do some seasonal flavors each year, and also offer Ice cream sodas, floats, Sundaes, and many topping choices. They also have Ice Cream in tubs to take home and some small "old-timey" snacks, candies, and gum. The hours are really good and sometimes they are open at the most unsuspected times, later than posted at times, which is always a good surprise! The prices are reasonable, I am sure some would say a bit on the higher end, but the quality is so good it is worth it. The lady who (I believe0 is the owner and all the staff are always very pleasant, and the service is very good as well. If I had any small issue at all, I would say it would be great if they did try some brand new flavors. As mentioned above, there are some seasonal flavors that come and go, but never anything brand new and I do think that would be a great addition to an already incredible place. Some notable flavors are our favorites: Banana, Coconut, Toasted Almond and Peppermint around the Holidays, I don't believe we've ever had any flavor that wasn't very good as well.
