Let me be the first to say I love, LOVE this salon! Everyone is very friendly and down to earth which speaks volumes for such talented people. I went from very blonde to very brunette and was slightly apprehensive--only because Charles made me feel at ease. Charles listened to what I wanted, looked at a few photos and then we discussed the best brunette shade for my skintone. He is incredibly professional and enthusiastic about coloring and styling and in fact was leaving that very weekend I saw him to take a color class in New York--which btw he was on the waitlist for--that is dedication. What made the experience that much better was his incredible neck massage and his all around charming personality. Brooke is an amazing hair stylist, she has been cutting my hair for 7 years now and I have never left her with a cut I was not 100% satisfied with. I also love The Peacock Salon in East Austin - it's a really awesome area that's easy to find and get to. Brooke listens to what you are looking for, and is amazing in that she'll look at your face type and really tell you the truth about what styles will work for you - she works with your own ideas to give you something stylish that works around your lifestyle. I don't like to take more than 5 minutes on my hair in the morning and that has translated to an amazing, edgy, layered look that literally takes 5 minutes to style in the morning. I've had the same hair cut for about 2 years now and I literally don't go a week without getting some kind of compliment. I also recently decided to dye my hair and not only does Brooke rock at cutting, but the color turned out phenomenal - I went from a dark brown to a brown with a great reddish hue - just enough of a change without being too overdone. I've been going to see Brooke for almost 5 years now. She has always been able to take a vision in my head and make it better than reality. She has a really great eye and can tell you what will or won't look good on you. I've gone from long to short 3 times now so I could donate my hair and each time, Brooke found the perfect new style even when I couldn't really give her a distinct direction. She's got a great sense of style and the talent to tease out a great hairstyle from your hair (rather than force it which keeps getting me in trouble). I can't really speak highly enough. I can say personally, for a fact, that Camille Brower has a rare talent with hair. I lived in Houston for years and was a client and devotee of Michel, of Michel's in the Galleria area. People go to him and pay serious money because he has a gift with hair. After living all around the country and never finding anyone who could measure up to his haircuts, I moved to Austin and saw a girl on the street with one of those amazing cuts, the kind that make you walk up to a total stranger and ask. She gave me Camille's number, and Camille has been giving me "those" haircuts for five years now. I followed her from Method to Waterstone and now to Peacock, and it's just lovely too. They have easy parking and they are not too far into East Austin to make it a long trip from town. I'm a bad client because I only make it there every six months or so (three little kids and babysitting is pricey) but Camille always welcomes me back warmly, cuts off the split ends, and makes my hair look fantastic. Her layers are one of a kind, she's a real perfectionist about them, and her cuts grow out beautifully. You'll love Camille personally too, she's a fun, sweet, laid back girl and is so easy to talk to. I also like her personal style, which is soft, natural, and refreshing. The East side is where it's at these days, and Peacock Salon/ Amanda Eggiman are no different! I booked an appointment with Amanda after a recommendation from a fellow curly girl. I'm a fairly adventurous curly girl and I wanted to venture into the land of curly bangs, a style that other stylists have flat out refused to do on me before. But Amanda was up for the challenge, and boy did she have the skills and vision to pull it off! She's extremely knowledgeable about her products and techniques, and she's really good about listening to what you want. She's funny and personable, we chatted throughout my session, and I left with an amazing bouncy, fresh, "bang"-ing style that I really love! It's always so much fun to get your hair cut by someone who really loves hair, all shapes, textures, and lengths. It's a bit pricey, expect to pay a bit over $100 for your cut, wash, and style, but she does free dry trims in between cuts, and TRUST ME it is worth every penny. I see my hair as an investment, and this was a good one. I especially recommend Amanda for curly girls, but I would recommend her and this salon to anyone! read more

Went in for a cut and double process today and saw Kerrie. So glad I did! She responded to me via text to see what kind of hairstyle I was thinking of right after I made the appointment online. I got there a few minutes early and she was ready right away and greeted me and introduced herself--something not all stylists do, which I find unprofessional! We had a short consultation and then she worked her magic on my crazy & difficult hair. She turned it into a masterpiece that I love, my husband loves, and even showed me tips on styling it. Would recommend her highly. I like that she doesn't have 2 or 3 clients going simultaneously, as then I feel like they are rushing and I don't get a good cut or color. See Kerrie! Disclaimer~unfortunately method did not lead me to the maker of beautiful tresses (although, it is my understanding that it is proper exit salon etiquette to let the client list know where your stylist is current residing, but Alas no proper etiquette practiced here...any who). This salon is awesome! Not only is it gorgeous, but it's super clean as well. They have their own private lot so no stress about finding parking! Francisco is nothing short of amazing. Annie and her staff are the best. I have been going to Annie for over ten years, and she always keeps my cuts current. I have tons of cowlicks but no one knows, because of Annie's expert scissor work and attention to detail. Her cuts are amazing, the color she gave me continued to get compliments even 6 weeks later.
