Charged me $600 for very shoddy work and 3.5 weeks later the alternator was toast and battery very low. Receptionist? Hey lady, we checked everything 3.5 well ago and all was working well...how should we guess the alternator was failing...you mean by checking the battery and the alternator? Guy at the desk says NO Potential Problems when they did a "full regular check up" but the shop now replacing the alternator has found a number of basic things overdue for repair ..again the car" just happened to need more work" after the $600. bill ? Ive been using Deckers for 10 years and had nothing but EXCELLENT SURVICE and a great neighbourhood shop that was recommended by my neighbour when we moved to Burnaby. Head mechanic quit when the staff turnover happened and I'm doing the same. Zero Customer Satisfaction. This shop has been repeatedly targeted over the last few months by theft attempts so reception agrees it's not safe to leave your keys overnights / just get it in ASAP in the morning. Once the " regular maintenance at $600." was completed, all at the unhappy parts formed a complaints union but they took too long ( 3.5 weeks) to figure out who was on the committee so it's all their fault nothing will be done at the shop to bring service up to normal expectations. SUV must have really enjoyed the time off from it's usual hard driving within a 15 mile range from our house to : dog food store in East Burnaby: to Byrne Road Park ( 8 minute drive from our house) : to go for a long daily dog walk, stopping on the way there or back at Save On for groceries. We avoided Covid like the Plague it is so virtual NO trips anywhe Warning : beware shops who don't guarantee their inspections and work for even one full week. How the Mighty have Fallen is the now the warning! I am a full time caretaker wife with zero car knowledge . The good news is that I can now tell the Alternator from the battery and how to open the front hood and I know thanks to BCAA tow truck mechanics, that the little front warning red battery sign means " it the Alternato Lady, Not your Battery ‍! Yes its tired, but you can replace it after you get the new Alternator. It's not Brain Surgery. Anyone with a great shop in the South Burnaby area willing to share yours ?

James st location Les Schwab is the worse experience I have ever had…read more 1 month 4 Lyft rides home. A friend gave me a ride too. Also my car was towed to the shop. The work they messed up was front end work to the tune of 1700 plus dollars. Had to take my car to another mechanic for a diagnosis, he took pictures and gave me a report of everything they screwed up, which was very detailed and wonderful to have but each time I went back to have them fixed it. Something else went wrong. They never test drove it or they would've known these things. I almost sideswiped a car, leaving there once. I had a hell of a squeal coming out of the motor that would've been noticeable with a test drive. Another time it round and round in a circle that's when they tow it. My son also called him since he's working out of town to complain how they've treated me and they used my kindness and my health against me to my son. That didn't go over very well. I'm writing this so nobody ever goes to the Les Schwab. I feel it's my duty to let other people know stay away beware. And make the manager acts like he's the kindest man in the world and he's the one that told my son due to my health and it was my fault on a lot of stuff.

My girlfriend has been going here the whole time she has had her car (4-5 years). First it was…read moregreat and she hasn't had any problems but the past 2 years every time she has had her car worked on here there have been problems. She had her head gaskets replaced and somehow there were bolts that got left inside of the exhaust that caused a loud rattle and she had to pay to fix it (this will be a reoccurring theme). Then she had a radiator leak and had to have that replaced. When they replaced it they also changed her tire pressure sensors without asking her and made her pay for them. She recently had her upper radiator hose pop off (after the radiator was replaced) so she took it back to get fixed and they said the radiator was broken again and made her pay for a whole new one. When they replaced it a second time she had some lights out. So they changed all of the lights without asking again. They then made her pay for them. And the cherry on top, last weekend we went on a road trip to Oregon and drove her car. On the way back the same upper radiator hose popped off and we had to pull over and were stuck in Oregon 9 hours away from home. After getting it towed to a nearby shop we were told that the hose clamps for the radiator hose were one time use clamps and have never been changed. That was what the problem was the first time it happened. They didn't replace the coolant hose clamps when they replaced the radiator the first time and since they are one time use clamps they eventually failed and even after we took it to them again they failed to see the problem. I will never be taking any of my vehicles here again. And I will also be informing everyone I know to never take their vehicles here.

I've never been so demeaned for being a woman. I called back for a refund after the refused to service me. Meanwhile Richard the owner sat in my car and googled codes he wasn't able to fix. The issue? My mechanic told me later that the tube they replaced in April was leaking, and that's what they refused to fix due to what I believe is incompetence. I called the following day for a refund and Allan told me to come in again and I said I didn't trust their work after coming in and waiting. Allan was extremely rude and dismissive after my long wait to an empty shop. If you aren't in an emergency, or a woman, AVOID this place. They add things to the bill without asking (my initial visit I was charged $100 for coolant I didn't want). Reported to BBB. Awful service. After a lack of info and waiting without answer, I towed my car. The new and trusted mechanic said the coolant leaked and needed a new hose. No one at Jiffy lube answered basic questions and in fact couldn't even find the leak! An appointment to fix the issue never happened. The owner, Richard, spent an entire hour sitting in my car Googling basic diagnostic codes on his personal cell phone. He did not know how to fix the issue, yet I was still charged [Insert amount if you want]. Falsely claiming we scheduled a follow-up is an attempt to cover up a complete lack of basic expertise and a rip-off. Future customers beware.
