Me and my partner handed our ID's over, bartender looked very briefly at my partners but stared at mine for at least an entire minute, which was embarrassing and very uncomfortable. Mom wanted to go here for her birthday. I was kind of surprised she did ask to go somewhere fancier but it's her day. Once I got my sandwich I totally understood. The menu is pretty basic with sandwiches and salad but all of it is excellent. High quality ingredients and not greasy or unbalanced. My mother has a lot of serious food allergies. She sent a printed list of them back to the kitchen. Our waiter came back to our table with a tin of fried onions for her to read label. She could do at them and felt safe the rest of the meal knowing they were going along her seriously. I had the Chicken Bacon Gorgonzola sandwich and would highly recommend. Any sandwich that has nice chewy crispy bread with getting soggy is a win. read more

I'm SO glad I moved back into Tacoma and discovered Peaks and Pints! I was waiting for a pizza at Europa Bistro around the corner and was parked down the alley. Lucky me as I saw the back door for P&P in the alley and wandered in. The first thing I saw was a mindful, sane approach to COVID prevention and distancing. They supply gloves, only let two people in at a time, and the flow is easy to follow. Selection is awesome...this is a bottle shop on steroids! Huge selection of bottles and cans from some of the best breweries including one of my faves from my home state, Founders in MI. Prices are fair, too. I didn't sample one of the 30+ growlers...craft beer, wine, kombucha, and cold brew coffee...but I'll do so on my next trip. Happy accidents are my favorite way of discovering so go climb into Peaks and Pints for yourself and take a "peak". ;-) read more

It's the modern heart of Tacoma, and I'm one lucky lady to live in walking distance and be a semi-regular here. I love that it's an adult-only reprieve, because I need it. I am literally flabbergasted that I have not reviewed this place prior to now. I have eaten and drank here many times. I dont know what happened. This place is awesome. Its one of my go to sandwich spots out of my top 4 its probably number 2 or 3. And for beer selection its easily with in my top 2 places to go. When you want to make a single stop its a great option to grab a solid sandwich and a weeks worth of beer. Overall the staff is awesome. They have killed it during the covid and have kept me going with beer and sandwiches. The food is excellent, which isnt shocking considering its owned by the same people as 1111 and a couple other spots. The beer selection is great. A ton of great local stuff and a lot of a great stuff from other regions. Its in a great location and I am happy to be able to go there every once in a while. Hell I might stop by today. read more

Portlandy feels here at this beer spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our Beer Flight of the Day today and also choosing a second flight with our own options. Any of their darker beers (IPA and Stouts) were extremely flavorful and enjoyable to this palate of mine. And I'm not one to enjoy IPA's. I guess that's changed now. I guess I'm maturing in taste for beer. Their food menu is also quite legit. Enjoyed ourselves the BBQ Turkey Bleu on sourdough with Jalapeño potato chips and pickles. The bleu cheese and arugula in this sandwich really DID IT for me. Seating here is perfect for groups as you can enjoy a game of Jenga as you're sipping on your beers and also charge your devices by the wall. We are definitely coming back to enjoy another sandwich and new flight of beers! read more

Beers - coolers filled with beer - wine on tap - and a growing and solid selection of ciders - what's not to like. Oh and did I tell you they have a killer, flavorful and bountiful food menu. Yes, yes and yes. Wide open - a bit noisy at time - but that's good right - people - interaction - social libations. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will help you find a brew, wine, or cider which suits your discerning taste. Save for the one staff member who consistently seems totally stoned and scents himself with stale cigarette smoke - it is a top notch location. Peaks and pints is a solid taproom that offers a small selection of sandwiches and salads. They have a large wall of taps that have great descriptions for each on a huge ever changing menu above them. For the inexperienced beer taster, it is a bit intimidating. I would have preferred the bartended to be a bit friendlier so as to lower the intimidation factor, but he was a bit unenthusiastic. However once we got our flavors of choice and our sandwiches we felt a bit better about the place. Seems like a great place for lunch and good conversation with friends, so long as there is a designated driver! My only criticism to the owner and staff is this: I recommend that whenever a customer come in ask if they've been in before, and if they answer is no please take the time to explain the sizes, the prices, and ask what kind of flavors they like to give recommendations. Even though the info is on the board, it can be overwhelming. I think this will help the experience immensely! Back to the food, the sandwiches are pretty good and comes with a side of chips and a pickle. I think the selection in ingredients is fitting for many different kinds of brews. The rotating options of beer is very cool and the pours are generous for the prices. I do plan on returning in the future! read more

We just moved up to Tacoma in time for our walkable neighborhood to be on a temporary shutdown...thanks COVID-19 :-/ However, we have been able to get our growler filled and purchase a growler at Peaks and Pints and we can't wait to hang out here in the future. The staff & owner are SO nice and it was even great to see Shane wearing a throwback t-shirt representing an old AZ brewing company "Papago Brewing Co." now owned by Huss Brewing. Ambiance was nice, low lit cabin feels with cool pictures of national parks & mountains. We ordered the beet salad (no beets because they were out), two local beers, and the special sandwich which was turkey, havarti, and rosemary aoli. Our server was very kind! I wish I remembered her name. Although they were out of a lot of things (the charcuterie plate and the vegan sandwich) we were able to find other things to try. I know it's not the servers fault so no problems here! My salad was actually amazing. My husband fell in LOVE with his sandwich. Like- I think he loves it more then me. He would not stop talking about this sandwich! as I write this review he's telling me how good it was and how he'll never find a better sandwich. We're from San Diego so we probably won't ever be back and trust me he's sad about it. But he's begging me to note on here that it SHOULD be made part of the permanent menu. It could be called "the Joshua special" for example. Anyways, he won't stop day dreaming about that lunch. We even walked out of the bar and he sat on a bench to think and thank a higher power for what he had just eaten. Great place to hang out, eat a fantastic sandwich, and wash it down with a craft beer, cider, or if you're feeling crazy, an iced tea. (Don't judge.) There are a few dozen taps that rotate pretty regularly and span a wide range of beers and ciders, though I am not an expert on such things so I'll spare you my low-wattage opinions. The key thing is that the bartenders are quite attuned to what they have on tap and are happy to talk about the beers and offer tastes. It's also a bottle shop with a darn-near overwhelming selection in the coolers at the back of the room. The sandwiches are all superb, and they will sub out Field Roast for any meat, so veggies and vegans don't have to wait out in the car while the omnivores eat and drink. I highly recommend the Roastmary (sub Field Roast!) or the BBQ bleu (sub Field Roast!). Service is friendly and laid back, but borderline forgetful. You can seriously go 20 minutes without a server coming anywhere near you while you sit there with an empty glass or your credit card sitting conspicuously on the table. They're so friendly that you can cut them a little slack, but don't come here if you're pressed for time or if your shirt is on fire or anything like that. Check the daily "fresh list" for feature beers and eats, and also keep an eye out for special events like music or nights that feature particular beers or breweries. And they have a little semi-private side room for parties. Decor is kinda like a north woods hunting lodge. An excellent stop in the Proctor district. Yay! read more

Fantastic time, I will definitely be back. Came in on a Friday night at 5:30 and there was already starting to be a crowd. There's plenty of short tables in the front, long high top community tables against the wall and a few standing tables in the back. There's also bar seating. There's tons of beers on tap and have a great selection of rotating crafts. They also have wine for wine lovers. The prices were extremely reasonable too!! They also have bar food and real food and a nice selection. I had the Reuben which was very delicious and fresh. The other cool thing is they have a refrigerator section in the back for those that want to take home some beer or wine. I will definitely be back!! read more

Although not a brewery that has their own brand, Peaks and Pints is an awesome Tap room with a vast selection of beers from both Washington and other states. They had a great selection of all different types of beer including ipas, stouts, pilsners and several sours. Their taps rotate weekly but on the night we were there they had a super-tasty Berliner Weise sour called "raspberry champagne". Someone in our group tried a coconut coffee Stout that they said was incredible. The decor is very "Washington Woods" with stuffed animal heads and hiking gear as decor. The night we were there happened to be a Friday and it was very crowded. We had to stand at the bar for our first beer but then lucked into a table, just in time for food ordering and our second beers. The menu is limited to appetizers and sandwiches, with side of salad or bag of chips. The sandwiches were very tasty and service was good. read more

It's my first visit to Tacoma, and I'd say this place is top five in the taprooms I've visited across the US. GREAT beer selection. GREAT service & knowledgable folks. Oh, and as an added bonus, the food is actually very good! One of the biggest beer lockers (to go or drink there) I've ever seen! Great new spot in Tacoma. They have both beer on tap as well as bottled beer which costs an extra dollar to drink there. They have about 15 beers on tap. They have something for everyone, I had a really delicious sour. The food looked good, I didn't have any but I would definitely try some, they have some unique sandwich offerings. The space inside is really nice. They have quite a few tables, they could do with some free standing tables by the bottles beer as all of the tables were occupied and it was really busy. The inside is vintage and they have a large back bar with a huge log where the taps are, very unique. There were also lots of vintage photos, it kind of had a lodge feel to it. Umm, Peaks and Pints is easily one of my favorite places to go drink and eat in Tacoma. I've returned to this haven at least 5 times before writing this review and have managed to forget to take pictures each time. This place has been busy every time I've visited, but somehow I always manage to snag a spot at the larger communal(?) tables. There's a decent bar, several other small tables located by the windows, and apparently a whole other seating section (I think for events) that I always miss as we walk in. Now, I am not a beer drinker (that's my husband) so finding a place that we are both happy to drink at can be hard. Peaks and Pints is perfect for us because it has a draft list with variety, including cider and wine (yaaas!). There is also a large section of canned beer in the back that you can grab and they'll pop it open for you. Anyways, we always order the Smoked Salmon Jalapeño Bacon Spread and split a sandwich. We've tried the Roastmary, Pesto Pestrami, The Sherpa, and Tuna Melt. All are warm sandwiches and freaking delicious. You can get chips or salad as a side. One of these days I'll remember to take a picture before I stuff my face...oh well. The staff here are super nice, the service is great even when it is busy, and it's just a great atmosphere. Great atmosphere and food. The male chef who brought our food out was very nice. The two females working in the restaurant we completely rude and unhelpful. One female behind the counter said " I need your masks up" I turned around because I had no idea who she was talking to and we all had our masks up over our noise and mouth we know the rules and work with the public. It was just so odd. We had 5 in our party and they didn't help us at all with seating did not say hello when we walked up to the counter they acted Iike we were bothering them. We were there at about 640p and they were not very busy but no tables in the main area were available for 5 people. The two females working the bar acted like they didn't want to be there. One person in our party asked what dressing choices they had for their salad and the server said " all the regular choices" Very disappointing. The food was great though. They told us we couldn't sit in the side room they had a sign that said reserved but that was at 530p and only one table had a couple of people.... Then after we sat at the bar another party after us was allowed to be seated there. I was really shocked how rude these two employees were. We are easy to wait on and a fun group. We work with the public and understand it can be difficult especially with Covid. It really was just a bummer. read more

Easy and casual spot in the proctor neighborhood. Headed in for a pint and sandwich after some shopping in the area. We took a couple spots at the bar and had great conversations with the bartenders. The service was a bit slow, finished almost two beers before getting our sandwiches but the signage around the place noted they were short staffed so we were happy to be patient and kind. Lots of beers on the rotation and a robust menu of sandwiches - it was hard to choose but I ordered the Roastmary sandwich and was a bit disappointed in the proportion of bread : sandwich fixings, but the flavor was good and the marble rye was really awesome too. It was just a hairline short of being really kick ass food. I'd go back! read more
