First visit and a wonderful experience. We arrived about an hour after they opened mid week. We were greeted warmly as we walked into the cozy restaurant that has a warm relaxing neighborhood spot vibe. I branched out and went with a "non traditional" pizza of Fig & Prosciutto and my companion got the meat lovers. Pizza is highly subjective but this was perfection. Crust wasn't too hard or soft. Toppings were fresh, flavorful and filling without being heavy. One can be enough for two people but we wanted leftovers. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I LOVE The Crafty Beaver! We stopped in the other night for a beer. I had a pumpkin ale, which was super tasty. The guy working there, possibly the owner, was super nice! The kind of guy who makes you want to return somewhere just because of the service. We also tried a cheese pizza and Caesar salad. Both delicious! Very fresh ingredients.

Loved my meal here so much that I added a stop on my Uber ride to drop my leftovers home before going back out to a bar lol. Small, quaint spot with about five tables and a small bar. Super cute interior decor, especially around Halloween time when I was here! But even better - the food. I ordered the Arugula Pear pizza (goat cheese, arugula, pear, & hot honey) and added bacon. This pizza was perfect. Albeit very messy to eat, the taste was spot on. I even enjoyed leftovers heated up in the oven as a late night snack, but fresh was really something else. Service was great and very kind. Cool but mellow spot to enjoy some great brews and fantastic pizza!

Great, great pizza. The right pub right off Wright Park. Right, Wright?!? (I crack myself up....) seriously, so good. Highly (or rightly/wrightly) recommended. Loved it!!

Love the decor inside the bar!

The Crafty Beaver Bar was on our list to try for a little while now. It is right next to a gelato shop we really like going to and that is how we first became aware of it. We had to do some errands and coming here for supper last night to conclude our journey out proved to be a great idea. They have lots of wine and beer options. Some of the beer is on tap while others are in bottles or cans. They also had some root beer I wasn't previously familiar with so I got that as well as a beer. The food here is really good! We had roasted nuts as a starter, almonds to be exact and they were very good! The pizza we split was one with pears, hot honey, arugula and goat cheese. Not that it needs it but I put a dash of red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese on it and it was so good! Not super greasy either as far as pizza goes... very little in fact which I appreciated because I definitely got the impression I was eating something a little bit more healthier than the regular run of the mill pizza. Our meal here was excellent and I'd love to come back and try out more of their pizza options. There was one involving figs that really caught me eye also!

What a great find in Tacoma! This is kind of away from the bar scene which I do appreciate because there's less of a hassle to find parking. It's right next door to a gelato place which if you have not tried yet, you must try cause their gelato are homemade and very good. But back to the Crafty Beaver Bar, it's a really small bar with bar seatings and about 4-5 booths/tables. Not quite a speakeasy vibe, but the decor and paintings are pretty cool and unique with beaver paintings and animal heads coming out of the walls. The food and drink menu is small but sometimes it's good to keep it small and sweet to the point you know what I mean :). Lol any who, pizza, that is what my friend and I came here to check out cause my friend is kind of a pizza snob. We got the meat lovers which is a decent size, proportion of sauce, meat and dough was just right and they do load it with the meats. Also, it was baked perfectly, the crust was browned just enough but not burnt. Cool place to kick back and just chill with friends or even by yourself!

Food was delicious! The roasted almonds all day long and the fig pizza was dessert and dinner all at once. But the staff made it, friendly and pleasant, thanks!

This was easily the best pizza I've ever had. The owner/bartender was fantastic and did both the bartending and the cooking. Super personable guy. Highly recommend the Arugula Pear pizza and the Chicken Bacon Caesar and their sour on tap. The crust is perfectly puffy with a crisp. Fresh ingredients all around. Highly recommend.

Gluten free Pear and Prosciutto pizza with goat cheese instead of feta and mozzarella.

The best gluten free pizza. Fun ambiance, but the pear and prosciutto pizza was everything. Highly recommend.

This bar is a hidden gem in Tacoma. It's a small spot with a well-selected menu featuring pizzas, ciders, and wines. We ordered the meat lover pizza along with a cider and a glass wine. Cozy atmosphere and a great place to unwind. Check it out yourself!

I had the pomelo cider - Light and crisp, so refreshing for the spring. Pizza was unique and delicious. I got to chat with the owners who are lovely and made me feel welcome. Can't wait to come back to this spot !!

Can I bring my daughter for dinner, she's under 21?

No. We talked to the owner and it was a tough decision. Washington's dumb and antiquated liquor laws made it impossible in his small space.

I'm a big fan of breweries, especially those with several drinks on draught or tap, and if they're really good, I'll buy them in a bottle. However, I read their review and noticed that they had vegan and vegetarian options, so I thought, "You know what? That's a combination I can't resist. Beers with a delicious sandwich!" A few days later, I made plans to visit on Saturday, which happened to be one of the two days this year that it snowed in the Pirec. It was quite amusing with the parking and the snow that stuck everywhere. As soon as I walked in, the bar was buzzing with energy. It had a great vibe. I didn't think I'd get any seats, but I managed to snag one at the bar with a very friendly person. I spent all but about 3 to 4 hours there. The sandwich I ordered was called the Rainier, and it was mentioned in the review, but the name wasn't revealed. It consists of a field roast loaf, Chao vegan cheese, herbed vegan mayonnaise, tomato, red onion, and arugula on sourdough bread. I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise, even if it's vegan, so I swapped it out with some pesto-style creamy cheese, and it turned out even better than I expected. The sandwich was a perfect five out of five. I would definitely order it every time I come. It came with a side of chips, which was a great addition. The sandwich was massive, so I could only eat half of it. I took the other half home for the next day. For my beers, I'm a big stout-and-porter guy, so I went with the Fort George's. They had two options: the Salted Caramel Cavatica & Matryoshka Vanilla. Both were exceptionally flavorful and probably my favorite porters I've had in all of Washington and many other states. Unfortunately, they ran out of the Salted Caramel Cavatica, so I ended up drinking the Matryoshka Vanilla for the rest of the night and didn't mind at all. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this place. I'm definitely going to make it a regular stop in my monthly rotations around Tacoma. Highly recommend stopping by this place. It's definitely a five. Service is amazing, and the drinks are worth the trip. They have an array of options, which is what I love about this place. Until next time!

I've also seen some people bringing small take outs and eating by the countertop seating with beer and that looked like a good idea. The staff is always friendly and can help you make some really good selections if you're interested in trying something new. On most days, I let my curiosity make choices on sour ales/ciders and buy single cans; or when they display a really cool looking can packaging I will for sure gravitate to it. Parking area is ample they also got some good Thai restaurant and Poke place in same lot, and across is hot chicken wing place and Dairy Queen so its golden. As for prices of beer cans, you definitely can find lower prices at local big grocery shops on common local beer labels, but difference is not by much and this is not a Safeway so there's that. This place being closer to me than Total Wine at the Tacoma Mall, I am a frequent flyer here. Its convenient, and fun to browse and take a few or 4 cans to try at home.
