Pleasant service, yummy food! A vegan and two elderly women walk into a bar... All enjoyed their lunch!

Great restaurant and taproom that is decorated from top to bottom in cool local Tacoma art and memorabilia. Great space for groups, couples, individuals, and friends to spread out. There was a TV playing a movie when I was there but maybe it shows different sports when there's a big game on. They have an extensive tap list and bottle list, alcoholic and non alcoholic. We tried an IPA, a pilsner and a lager, all refreshing and flavorful. Plus the pils and lagers are $1 off on Wednesdays! The place specializes in hot dogs of various types so of course we had to get one. My Destiny City Slaw Dog was topped with house-made golden BQ sauce, fresh house-made Southern style slaw, onions and all meat chili. I got the chili on the side and I'm glad I did because it let the crispy snap and flavor and juiciness of the hotdog shine. The slaw was also plentiful and perfectly seasoned and marinated. Not too mayonnaisey. I'm a sucker for slaw and try it wherever I go, and there's was up there in my ranking. The buns were good quality too, nicely speckled with poppy seed. (the chili was good too but just not my thing on a hot dog). Husband got the Tacoma dog, which looked good. It had some really good mini spicy Italian peppers. I never saw these before; they're different than the ones you get at a salad bar or a burger joint. So I'm guessing they're special. I think the husband liked his hot dog. It was just small. So for people with medium to big appetites, expect to buy two hot dogs, or get some additional food like the burgers and sides to fill you out. Price wise, dogs range from $7-$16, where the highest dog is a double essentially and packed with toppings. They are very creative with their toppings and also have vegan and vegetarian options. Overall, I loved the vibe, the food, the friendliness, the drink selection and the felt the price for things was pretty good for this economy. We came for a photography fundraiser, so extra points for the restaurant being an active part of and giving back to the community. Looking forward to returning for their trivia night sometime too!

One of the best tap lists in the Sound region. Killer dogs and excellent , knowledgeable wait staff. Fast service and a vibrant vibe. The Red Hot is a must hit place and it has a ton of vegetarian options

This place has been our go-to meetup spot for years. Whenever friends are in town, we don't even have to ask where we're headed. The hot dogs are phenomenal. I'm a creature of habit with the 6th Ave Strut and Ragin Cajun, but honestly, you can't go wrong; my friends all have different favorites and rave about them every time. Dining in is the best experience, but they've seriously leveled up their takeout game. They swapped the old foil wraps (which led to soggy buns) for specialized takeout carriers, so the quality holds up perfectly even if you're eating on the go. Parking can be a bit of a gamble depending on when you show up, but it is 100% worth the effort. Whether you're here for the food or the drinks, you're guaranteed to find something you love.

Extensive rotating beer list. Weekly dog specials. Efficient service in a dive-ish type of environment. Our group had a few different dogs and everyone enjoyed them. Poppy seed bun on the dogs is a nice touch.

Delicious food! Highly recommend if you love hot dogs! They also have nachos, burgers and other apps Always a great selection of beer/cider Service has always been friendly and helpful and attentive. Not a huge place but we had a party of 13 that came in on Saturday around 6ish and thankfully got the big table right in the middle perfect for our size! High top tables mostly with a few seats lower to the ground.

The Red Hot is one of the most notable bars on the 6th Ave strip and it's easy to see why. Vibes are always super chill, the bartenders have always been nice when I've been in, and it's overall a great spot to grab a quick drink. My fiance says the hot dogs here are amazing, and giving a quick look at the menu, you can see it's their THING. I love a good hot dog so I'm disappointed to say I haven't eaten here yet, but it's definitely on my list! Super solid spot to grab a drink to start the night on 6th Ave!

Delicious food, served quickly, attentive staff, and a great place to hang out. Adults only bar. Love the signs there. Never had anything I did not enjoy. Try the whole menu

Well, hot dawg! If you're a fan of hot dogs and sausages, this is the place to be. I stopped here for lunch and had a nice meal and good sour beer on a semi-rainy Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded inside and I sat a the bar. They also have some other booths and high top tables, with plenty of beer selections and an array of dogs and other food to choose from. I got the Rainier Rueben which had 1000 Island Dressing, spicy brown mustard, swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. It came loaded up and I ate some of my kraut with the fork that I was given and definitely needed with this messy but delicious hot dog. The dog itself had a great snap, so you know it's good. It was a hefty yet tasty meal all on its own that I really enjoyed. Service was just fine, nothing to write home about but got the job done. The bathroom was a large unisex one that had a big chalkboard inside that I had to take advantage and write a fun message on, too. :)

all the tap handles on the ceiling pretty fun to look at

Very cool if you like hot dogs. SO many different kinds it's hard to choose from. I am a relatively small eater and could've ate 1.5 dogs so for the larger eaters I'd recommend two dogs for a meal. service was friendly and quick. Lots of beer to choose from! they have different specials every day of the week and even veggie friendly options. Loud and bar and grille type vibe. since it's street parking, parking is always an issue in this area, especially during peak hours. but you may always get lucky! I'd def come back!

Came here because I was craving a hot dog, I love a normal chili cheese dog, but there were so many to choose from! Ended up getting one with Mac and cheese on it, and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff and servers, the ambiance is your normal dive type bar but clean and quiet. Definitely recommend others to try it out, can order one of the beers with your food and watch the game on tv or just hang out.

    Is outside food allowed?

I wouldn't think so since they're a craft brew and restaurant.

Do they have gluten free options for bread etc?

    Open for pickup currently?

Yes they have curbside pick up.

    Is there a/c?

    Yes, always comfortable inside.

Are kids allowed? I want to eat there this morning but I got the kiddos

They have all the Pappy van Winkles as well as most of the Buffalo Trace Antique collection. They only do 2 oz pours (no half pours) but the prices are still more affordable than any other place you'd find on the West Coast. Some downsides is that they don't have glencairn glasses and the place has your typical tavern smells, so you won't get the full isolated whiskey tasting experience. This place is after all a tavern, so most of the focus is on beers and a communal experience. If you're looking to try something rare without wanting to buy the whole bottle though, I think coming here for whiskey is still pretty good.
