This is such a neat place. It's so unexpected. Walk through a gas station to paradise. Gorgeous ambiance, great service, and yummy food! I come here often for the laidback atmosphere. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a nice glass of wine or beer. I almost didn't leave a review because I'd like for this hidden gem...to stay hidden. Nonetheless, come and enjoy. I know you will!

Finally stopped in the check out this place! Didn't expect it to live up to all the hype but it did not disappoint! We ordered the nachos and an order of wings - the waitress let us know that the wait would probably be longer than normal which we appreciated! It didn't even end up being that long and the nachos were delish! We took the wings to go and our son said they were one of the best he's had in town (he's tried most everywhere!). We had to stay up top since we had kids with us but it was a great atmosphere and will definitely be back in the summer with no kids so we can check out the garden area!

When my friend said she's taking me to a bar/brewery in a gas station, I was expecting something pretty divey, but I was pleasantly surprised about how nice Zog's is. It really is located inside a Shell gas station, but it's much bigger and nicely decorated. There's a large outside seating area with fire pits and a waterfall. They have a good size beer list with food too!

But wow, we were both floored by how absolutely delicious our meal was. We shared a big bowl of perfectly seasoned and chunky chilli and a margherita Pizza that had such a generous amount of basil on it and, according to my son, the best tomato sauce he's ever tasted. On top of that, the bartender mixed me up one of the best old fashioneds I've had in a while and my son loved his grapefruit rosemary mocktail. Add to all this delicious food the fact that we could look out on the runway and watch the planes? Seriously one of the best local eating experiences there are. And as a plus, our waitress was wonderful.

She was always there for all of our needs and took care of the whole family. We had a total of six adults and two children. I thought the brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing. They were cooked to perfection and the sauce and the bacon just made the flavor better. The Reuben sandwich that I had was great, but I just thought the bread got a little soggy due to the grease, which tends to happen but not all Reuben's are like that. The fish and chips were just regular fish and chips and there was no special component to them. The build your own pizza came out very big and looked absolutely delicious and the kids were fighting over pizza. The grinder was absolutely the star of the show. The grinder was absolutely phenomenal and great flavor all-around taste and would highly recommend to order that every single time. I'm still giving this five stars, even though some of the food was a little lackluster, but the main star of the whole experience was Taylor our server. She did absolutely amazing again. If I was her employer, I would definitely give her a raise or make sure she's always there for every single person which can't happen in reality.

First of all, the property is huge with various areas to hang out in. There's an indoor space downstairs, and upstairs space with a bar and video games, uncovered and covered outdoor patio areas with equipment for live musicians, and a little forested enclave with seating and a fireplace. Beyond their awesome ambiance, their ciders were all varied and delicious. They have 26 taps to choose from. We tried a bunch of their 4oz pours. My favorites turned out to be (surprisingly) their seasonal Chai and their Honey Pear, but each one that I tasted was unique and flavorful. I felt the intentionality in each one. They have a full food menu that includes gluten free tater tots and chicken nuggets. Service was awesome, by the way. Two of the kegs we wanted to try had blown, so the bartender brought us a few extra pours for having to wait. I'm super bummed that I never made it back for a second visit. We thought about sitting outside but decided against it. The host took us to a table in the center of the room because all the windows along the windows were taken, still good views. Restaurant was busy - lots of people enjoying the weather, quite a few tables with kids. Ordered an Arnold Palmer ($6.50 - note the labor meant it was more than both the lemonade $5 and iced tea $4) and husband got Diet Coke. Also tried the fried pickles $10 and a salmon salad $34, husband ordered the big plate pan fried oysters $32 and inquired about if it came with sides. The server said it came with coleslaw and fries but could be replaced for just coleslaw or just fries or additional charge salad or chowder. He opted for coleslaw. Fried pickles were good, we were both a little disappointed they were sweet pickles but we liked the aioli. I was disappointed that my salad came with farro but the farro was like, a garnish? Crunchy small bits of farro. I make a farro salad regularly and it's so easy to have nice farro (cooked 30 mins then saved in fridge to add to salads). The salmon was cooked well. My husband was disappointed in his fried oysters. It was a big platter but mostly empty with a small pile of fried oysters and then a cup of red cabbage with some light dressing. Very disappointing plate. We had revolving sushi with our kid the day before for the same cost, and it was a better experience than our date night. Husband grabbed fast food directly after and I just wanted something more special when we left, but didn't figure something out before heading home. Service was adequate, drinks ran out but they did eventually refill. Wished I came by the end of March for the happy hour deals because this wasn't anything special. Definitely more of that overpriced family restaurant with views vibe. Don't go for food - stick to chowder and fish n chips. 3 stars because I probably will go back for views and I can take my kids there, if needed.

After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.
