Zogs is hands down the best spot on the island! The staff is absolutely amazing--they go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience every time. The beer selection is always rotating, and somehow it's always good no matter what's on tap. The food is just as solid. The pizza is loaded with toppings (they don't skimp!), and the wings are great. And the backyard... it's honestly magical. Walking through the gas station and then stepping out back feels like entering Narnia--such a cool, unexpected vibe. Great hidden gem behind a gas station. I didn't like that they gave my wife flack about bringing a seltzer in from the gas station after a staff member incorrectly said it was allowed. They only have beer and wine but my wife is a liquor and seltzer chick so either we are spending money there for what I like or we just leave. It seems we should have been allowed to respectfully bring beverages from their attached business partner with no issues. I ended up getting my wife a drink that they had on fraught and it seemed everyone got table service but us. It was a little frustrating but I would still go back. Ugh terrible sandwichs! I got a reuben all excited. Its a tavern figured it would be ok as we didnt wanna drive into GH that late aft. Husband got a french dip that wasnt so bad. Mine was horrible, meat was tough albeit four slices. Cut too thick. Bread was mushy and not really crisp as i should be for a reuben. Food was lukewarm tho we ate only five mins after getting it! Awfull ALL the way around. French fries werent even barely done, almost raw. We even took half my sandw home and tried to make it better - still awful LOL. We shoulda just thrown away!! NOT worth the $ they charge. Have a beer there sure. But expect zero on their food. Better off to get something prefab in tue grocery section. Regret that $20 spent ALOT!! This is a really neat place to visit. It's almost speakeasy style where it starts as a gas station, then a to go pizza spot and you have this cool tranquil outdoor seating area. I was passing through and the group i was with wanted to stop by. The pizza was really hot and fresh and the outdoor space was so tranquil with the seating and waterfall. Awesome local hidden gem and secret. Behind a sliding door is actually a pretty large beer garden with a great selection on tap as well as a good amount of wine options. Great prices. Huge outdoor area that is perfect in the summer. I am genuinely surprised that it is not busier than it is normally. May be too good of a secret! Stop on by this place for either something to eat or simply just for a drink. Even if the weather is not bad, there are plenty of places to sit, tvs, and a pool table. Finally stopped in the check out this place! Didn't expect it to live up to all the hype but it did not disappoint! We ordered the nachos and an order of wings - the waitress let us know that the wait would probably be longer than normal which we appreciated! It didn't even end up being that long and the nachos were delish! We took the wings to go and our son said they were one of the best he's had in town (he's tried most everywhere!). We had to stay up top since we had kids with us but it was a great atmosphere and will definitely be back in the summer with no kids so we can check out the garden area! read more

The food is delicious but the table is so damn uncomfortable. Skinny, natural wood with built-in benches too far from the table part. My legs dangle because the bench is too high and I have to lean so far over the table to even eat my food. There is absolutely nowhere to rest your feet. After moving from North Tacoma to Gig Harbor I thought I was not going to find any cool bars in Gig Harbor as the ones in Tacoma, but boy was I wrong. Ok so it is attached to a small grocery store, but continue thru near the back and there is another set of doors that enter into Zogs. There you will be met by a small bar with about 10 handles and a various selection of wines. But if the weather is nice continue outside down to the oasis that the owners have built; to be honest pictures online just don't do it justice. A lot of trees and plants line the outside area with a few fires pits that have water flowing thru them; yeah very cool. They also have a smoking area if you need it, below on the lower level is a large, open cement area with beer company signs adorning the wooden fence. They also have a large room to rent below the tap room for parties or meetings. Overall a very cool find on Fox Island, a must for great weather. read more

This place is Fox Island's only restaurant, and super popular. So of course, I had to try it out. I went with a friend of mine and we had a lot of fun. The food is ok, not the best though. The pizza isn't bad, just not super "quality." We also got the cheese curds, which are popular. But, in my opinion, they weren't all that good, they were really salty. They had fun games like pool there, which entertained us until the food came. It's defiantly not my go-to place here in the Gig Harbor/Fox Island area though. read more

Zigs was awesome! In a beautiful little spot in Gig harbor/ Fox island and stumbled upon it. Their beer and cider selection is delicious, not to mention for being first timers on the state, the waitress/bartender gave us a HUGE plate of their nachos even though we asked for a small. This place is such a cool little anomaly in so many ways, and quite a rad place to bend an elbow. Before you read on, take a close look at the photos, and note how pretty the landscaping is--the setting here is just gorgeous. Now for the rather surprising part. I didn't even realize this when I bookmarked the place and drove all the way down here--it's located in a gas station. You pull up past the pumps and there's a little more parking (and a few more cars) than you would typically expect to see at a gas station convenience store. There's no sign anywhere outside indicating that there's a watering hole inside; you need to either know it's back there or trust your directions enough to be adventurous and go check it out. There IS a community bulletin board with lots of notices posted for a variety of community organizations and news, but you pretty much feel like you're walking in to a place where they sell corn nuts and cold pop and whatever. In fact, they do. There's a big set of wire racks showing DVDs available for rent--clearly, this is the kind of convenience store you find in an area where there are lots of nice relaxing vacation cabins (that don't have cable service) nearby. Past the cash register, past the greasy hot dogs, there's a big extra-wide door shaped and painted like a giant wooden barrel, and, finally, a sign saying "Zog's." In the first room you enter, there's a bar with signage, Square cash registers so you can pay by card, and over a dozen well-chosen beers. Lots of mainstream stuff--Bud/Miller/Coors type stuff, but quite a few craft beers too. Off to the right, there are rentable banquet-type spaces that could probably hold a few people. If you go straight outside, there's a big covered deck/patio where they can grill in any weather, and some cool long rough-hewn communal picnic tables. There are lots of nice decorations here, but very neutral. They must do a lot of venue rental business here. In fact, there was a graduation party of some sort here this past Saturday. The indoor rental space has a bunch of Fox Island Historical Society stuff mounted on the walls, and that was pretty darn cool. Outside, there's a long curving walk, tons of landscaping and hardscaping and seating, and a big fire pit. I think a water feature as well. This is an awesome place to come get a beer or get growlers filled while you're out relaxing at a rental place on a cool little island tucked away in the corner of the Sound. read more

Oof. Coming out of my Yelp retirement to leave a review. I really wanted to love this place and have given it so, so many do-overs. But after I've arrived again for a pick up order that was suppose to be done 30 minutes ago and I just watched then put it in...you get a little frustrated. The people are nice and the beer selection great but the quality and consistency of service are awful. They are so slow and oftentimes the order is messed up in someway. Expect that everything will take 2x longer then you expect. Guess that's why it's called Island Time. read more

OK honestly I don't typically leave opinionated feedback but my experience here was bad so I'm just gonna let everybody else know. I have a very open minded perspective on the world. I ordered some pizzas and a beer, then sat in an open area while I waited. I was fine with the crowd independent of people's political beliefs but some people near me started spouting about democrats and vaccines and when I stood up to go check on timing for the pizza they said, "oh I guess she didn't like that." I thought it was distasteful and weird. On top of that, when I checked with the woman preparing the pizzas she was rude. The person taking drink orders was wearing her mask over her mouth and not her nose, which is useless when it comes to COVID. When we finally went to go pick up our pizzas the lady told us, "by the way you should know that we don't have mushrooms so they're not on your pizza." Not a big deal but they should've told us from the first place and not charged us for it if they didn't have it. Got the pizza home and it has way too much cheese. Overall an unpleasant experience I wish I skipped. read more

Unfortunately the service is terrible, the kitchen takes 3 times to get your order correct EVERY TIME and the bartender always says "Well I didn't make it" and "what do you want me to do about it?" I really liked this Wine Bar and Beer Garden place. Actually this building is pretty all purpose. They have a small grocery store, the Zog's tavern which serves beer and food, a museum and a gorgeous beer garden! The reason that brought us to Fox Island and Zog's was that they have beer by Fox Island Brewing which does not have it's own tap room. They had at least five or six brews made by this brewery on tap which we got three of. I got a great Pale Ale by this brewery, a wonderful bourbon porter and a awesome rye IPA. The service was great, the atmosphere cozy and clean. The beer garden was amazing as I have said before and probably this prettiest one I have been to. They had two cheerful fires going on outside, water falls and lots of seating and standing room for warmer and busier nights. I look forward to going back here when the weather improves! Spring, Summer and Fall would be gorgeous in this beer garden! read more

My husband and I decided to take a day trip to Fox Island just to check out the area and a co-worker recommended Zog's. What a great surprise! Tap selection was small but well chosen; I can't remember what the cider on draft was but it was memorably good and not one I'd seen in Tacoma. Pizza was better than expected but topping options could have been a little more extensive (there were only about 7 items and they were out of mushrooms). Above-average musical selection. The bar itself was beautiful and the patio is stunning - too bad it was a little too cold to check it out but I guess that's just an excuse to come back. Zog's could easily have phoned it in since there's literally no other bars nearby but this place is a destination. Note: It's difficult to find from the road since the front area is actually a convince store. Just walk through and take a right. read more

Zogs is fun. It's the only drinking / eating establishment on Fox Island. They only serve beer and wine and close pretty early (out of respect of the surrounding neighbors). Zogs itself if located behind / within a gas station shop and is surprising a beautiful spot. There is roughly a dozen rotating beers on tap as well as several rotating wines. The food is served in large portion but, the choices are limited to bar foods (pizza, tots, chicken tenders, etc.). Kids are welcome to the inside area of Zogs. read more

We ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and it tasted like all the ingredients were from a package and nothing was fresh made at all. And the cheese, way too much cheese. The macaroni bites tasted and looked prepackaged. The chicken wings were OK, they should have been crispier and the only coating they use is Frank's Red Hot. Not very original at all. If you decide to to here, make sure they have a guest caterer that night. They had a BBQ place and their food was really good. Just stay away from the Zog's menu. read more
