It was our first time having dim sum here. We needed to fuel up before going to Vaughan Mills for some shopping. It was a quiet dining day as there were only a few other tables there when we were there. An observation that I had: either the booth seating is really low or the tables are really high. It was just odd having the table so high up. The servers made themselves visible by constantly walking around the restaurant so we never had to wait long if we had any inquires. The food was delicious and some dishes were slightly different from how we usually see it presented but that's a good thing.

So I took my family here for the first time, didn't know we had a dim sum spot by our home. Read a few reviews from people and got some input from family and friends and decided to give it a try. Let me start off by saying, why are we charged $1.50 per person for tap water and/or tea that they refill with hot water??? Why when we ordered the mini soup dumpling and came with little to no soup inside??? Why do the charge an arm and a leg for SP, JP and XL for a S plate size??? The flavour of the food wasn't anything extraordinary. You can go down to Chinatown Toronto area for better food and price if dim sum is something you crave.

ive been coming here for over a decade! theyve been consistently great w.their dimsum (both dine in and take out). friendly staff (a bit of a language barrier) and theyre very keen w.the covid safety protocols. my favourite dimsum item is the fried bitter melon w.salted egg and their fried softshell crab!

The beef was tender and soft

I'm not too sure of why this place gets really low reviews, however i had a good first experience at this restaurant. When we came in for dinner, it wasn't too busy; with a just a few big tables seated. The server greeted us and was going to ask for how many, but we told her that we had a table already. The old man who took our order was pretty nice and attentive to what we ordered, plus he was friendly to the kids sitting with us. We ordered one of their signature dishes which is the pecking duck course. The food did not take too long, with the duck arriving first. Our others dishes came promptly as we started to eat the duck and we were running out of space haha. Luckily the servers were able to think fast and helped us condense things to have space. The food overall tasted great, and the portions weren't stingy for the price you pay. Everything was cooked just right, and the meat was tender. All of us enjoyed the food and had no complaints whatsoever. We had a great first experience here, and will plan to come back :) TIP: they do take debit, and weekdays is probably the best time to come as there's less cars; easier to park and the servers will be more attentive to you since there's less tables around

This restaurant is the closest Cantonese cuisine to my house. I don't come here often as I would rather drive 20mins to Richmond Hill for Cantonese cuisine but we were in the area and my bf was starving. We ordered rice noodles in scrambled egg sauce, sizzling chicken with mushroom, and beef cheung fun. The food came out fairly quick and it tasted good. Everything had a perfect amount of seasoning so it wasn't too salty or that a spice was overpowering. Unfortunately while eating, I was very thirsty and kept drinking tea. Typically I barely finish a small cup of tea while dining, but at this place, I refilled my cup at least 5 times. My bf even asked me if I was okay and why am I drinking so much tea lol. I don't know if I'll dine here again as the food made me really thirsty. Maybe I'll give it another shot in a couple months.

Update: it's been awhile since I have returned here. Service is a little bit better. Food is still the same just more expensive. Peking duck was good today but the congee was not. It was mediocre at best. Once again we are here for convenience. Just didn't feel like driving to Markham in the snow for Chinese food. Overpriced and mediocre food. Hit and miss service. We went there for dim sum on thanksgiving Monday. Knowing that it was a holiday and were prepared to wait for a table. Upon letting the gentlemen know that we were a table of 6. He asked if we had reservations and as I said no he scoffed and chuckled at me and turned away. How rude and weird at the same time. We ordered peking duck $45 for two courses of wraps among other dim sum dishes. Although food cam out piping hot, tastes was just ok. Doesn't justify the high prices. There are other much better dim sum restaurant only problem they r not in Vaughan.

I came here to try dumplings and let me tell you I was not disappointed! The selection is huge and the food tastes amazing.

While the interior remains very nice for a family dinner or dinner date with friends, the service would have been better. It felt like our server kept waiting for us to finish our meal and then leave. We took out takeaway containers but my friend and I wanted to stay and yap for a little bit because we hadn't seen each other in a long time and the restaurant was rather empty but the kitchen staff came out and quickly packed our meals at the table. Speaking of, when we ordered our mango salad, it looked haphazardly put together, and the mango (ripe and unripe) were cut in very large chunks... not very bistro like at all... At the end when we asked for our bill, I went to pay and our server went "what? No tip??" And he stood there and watched me pay. Tip is customary, not mandatory. Moreover he wasn't supposed to "watch me pay." I felt like I was coerced. Never coming back here, would not recommend this place.

While the noodles were not crispy, the dish was loaded with chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushroom & other vegetables that soaked up the delicious savoury sauce. We added a cream corn soup to round out. I've also had the Szechuan Chicken before and have to admit it's another hit fast food dish. This restaurant has a mash of different menu items including pho, sushi & Thai curry as well. The sushi rolls were passable. It doesn't have to be perfectly authentic to be a good option at the mall. While we've never tried the server experience, the metal takeout tables here work perfectly fine for a quick meal. For our latest meal, we had the Ginger Beef with rice which is another pleasant Chinese takeout dish popularized locally. It came hot out of the kitchen. The deep fry technique here preserved the tenderness of the beef much better than other places where I've tried this dish. It went well with the crispy batter drenched in sweet spicy soy sauce. Skip it or it hit? If you're looking for Asian food at the mall, an occasional visit here is not bad.

Once you start those wings, you can't stop. In fact, these wings are so good that I ordered 200 of them for my party last winter, and I still don't get tired of those damn wings! Also - they are great if you keep them in the fridge for a day & reheat them too. Although their fried rice and vegetables are not as out-of-this-world as their wings, they all still pack great wok hei while tasting surprisingly "healthy" (because they are not as heavily seasoned as other Chinese food places). I think the chef wanted to ensure that the other dishes did not steal the show of their wings. Overall, I strongly recommend China Wok Superb Chinese food, regardless of whether you want to grab a combo meal with wings, rice and vegetables or just ten wings for a meal. They are all great options with a decent price.

We were watching on YouTube and saw that the bloggers were reviewing the location in Richmond Hill. We assumed that the Vaughan location was the same one. So, that was our fault. But, we decided to stay and didn't feel like traveling all the way to the other one. We were immediately seated after we arrived. The place is pretty big, with a very elegant interior. Tables seating up to 4 people line the leftmost wall, which has framed paintings adorning it. Circular tables for groups of 8 sit in the center of the restaurant and on all of the tables are crisp white tablecloths with beautifully folded green cloth napkins. The specials are also written on a framed green chalkboard on the back wall and the place is illuminated by built-in spotlights. We ordered the following: Braised Tofu with vegetables - Daughter liked it a lot. She said that it tasted like Chinese takeout but in a good way. Basa Fish Chili Bean Sauce- This was ok, but I thought the sauce was the same as the other orders. Spicy eggplant with shrimp- Hubs said that this tasted similar to the braised tofu with vegetables and it was ok. Overall, we felt that these 3 entrees and sauce all tasted the same. It was ok but no big deal. This place is located next to a mall, so there was plenty of parking. Service was quick and friendly. We told our server about daughter's peanut allergy and it was noted on our bill. There were quite a few other tables occupied. I'm glad we got a chance to try this place. The Hakka Chow Mein was actually quite good-tasty, well prepared (noodles were not too hard/soft); we ordered spicy and it had a hint of spice but not enough kick. The Chili chicken was decent as well-they have dry or wet options-I ordered the dry and it was good but once again the spice did not have enough kick to it. However, keep in mind that I would not be their core client (who may not be able to handle very spicy food like I can). It was good but not as good as a few of the other Hakka places I would categorize as the "gold standard". They offer Halal as well. Would I come back? For sure! We opted for choy sum, but we also could've chosen from a selection of mixed vegetables, bok choy, snow peas, mushrooms, etc. Surprisingly, the scallops came as jumbo scallops. I was expecting smaller-sized scallops like in other Chinese restaurants. The dish was tasty and I could taste the ginger.
