My 88-year-old father lived at Peakview for about one year. Prior to his move, we had toured about 5 other assisted living facilities and thought Peakview would be a good choice. From the beginning, we experienced issues where services and ADL care tasks were not being performed by Peakview staff. The tasks detailed in his care plan such as laundry, changing of bed linens, shower assistance, and grooming were simply not being completed. As family members, we were constantly following up to why these services were not being done. Every time we visited my father, we wondered what issue we would have to deal with. When we contacted Peakview management regarding these issues, we were always politely told that they would be addressed. Unfortunately, nothing ever changed. We also experienced issues with Peakview's medical management process and medication chain-of-custody. At one point, we considered contacting the State of Colorado to file a complaint. During his residency, we experienced multiple occasions where medications were lost and/or incorrectly dosed. We also had issues where Peakview didn't perform timely updates to their medication database. Lastly, we had times when my father was being incorrectly billed for medications what were never administered. At one of our final care meetings, I can still remember the Executive Director saying, 'Let us (Peakview) handle the day-to-day activities of daily living, so you can enjoy quality time with your loved one.' Our experience with Peakview was nothing like that. At the end of my father's residency, we were paying close to $9000 a month and Peakview was still not consistently performing tasks documented in his care plan. After our 3rd formal care meeting, we decided it was hopeless and made the difficult decision to move my father. Peakview is a modern facility and some of the staff members are very nice. Don't be fooled. If you want your loved one actually cared for, don't choose Peakview. read more

Absolutely run in the opposite direction, Do Not Enter this facility. I would NOT recommend Peakview to anyone who cares about the care given to their loved one. My mother was with Peakview for almost 3 years and the beginning was great. within 6 months the level of care dropped drastically. COVID can not be blamed for everything, that is not an acceptable reason. In one year alone there were "3" executive directors, three head nurses and periods where no one was there to supervise the nursing staff. The staffing changed weekly with no consistency of care. I was there visiting and checking on my mother every other day for the time she was a resident. The most basic care needs were not being met, including basic hygiene, weekly housekeeping and trash removal. Complaining fell on deaf ears. Care reviews were made very 6 months without notifying the family and level of care charges increased with ZERO communication till the next month billing. The services being charged for were not being provided and no refunds were every made even when the level of care was reduced. I received an email from the E/R the day she was admitted for the E/R room for her copay charges. That is how I was notified she had been taken to the hospital. Her care was non existent, she ended up in the hospital with a highly contagious intestinal disease because she sat in her own dirty pull ups. Needless to say....She never returned to live there after that. That experience completely ruined her health. I could continue but have said enough......RUN for the hills ! ! read more

My mother lived at Peakview Assisted Living from May 2024 to January 2025. During her stay, she endured missed medications, inadequate care, unsanitary conditions, and poor communication--despite having detailed care needs while on hospice. After moving her out for her health and safety, we contacted Spectrum's corporate office to report our concerns. We received no response and have since filed a complaint with the state. I would not recommend this facility to any family. read more

DO NOT MOVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! My mom lived at Peakview for less than a year, and during that time we continually had issues with medication management (including forgotten medications and refills), oxygen monitoring (left with no oxygen for periods of time), meal delivery (including forgotten deliveries meaning mom didn't eat) assistance with personal care and moving around the apartment. We were paying for care items that were not consistently provided, which caused unnecessary stress. Our concerns were either ignored, or treated as over-exaggeration. Management was terrible with communication and answering questions in a timely manner. We finally made the difficult decision to put our mom through a second move to a different assisted living facility, and the difference has been like night and day. We were drastically overcharged at Peakview for subpar service for our mom. Our mom is doing so much better after leaving Peakview. Please save yourself and your loved one from the nightmare that is Peakview and do not move them in here. read more

Do not put your loved one in this facility. I agree with all the other reviews. In the year and a half that my in-laws were at this facility, there were four directors, several financial directors, cannot even begin to tell you how many director of nurses came and went. They would often say there was an upgrade of care needed and charge us without a discussion and then the new care was never given. Many times I came into my in-laws apartment to find my mother-in-law sitting in her underwear. Food and meds were all you could count on. My father in law told everyone he could find that he had blood in his urine and no one did anything. The apartment and our parents were seldom clean. When the cleaning lady had a problem and couldn't come in they had no back up and went weeks without cleaning. Please think twice about taking your family to this facility. read more

My Dad moved in here this last year. Dad lived in two other facilities in our area. But PeakView was the best. The staff from the director down was kind, compassionate and caring. These folks were much more in tune with state regulations. This facility is a smaller but modern, clean and welcoming. Our family highly recommends PeakView. read more

My mom has been staying here in the memory care unit for a little while now. Aside from the situation this year being frustrating with not being able to go in and see her, it's been great. They've gone out of their way to make sure she's happy and healthy. My only lack of a 5th star is due to how hard it is to get ahold of employees by the phone sometimes, they're pretty good with email though. Some tips for anyone looking into a move in right now. 1 - Nothing is supplied: that means, tissues, toilet paper, shower curtain, towels, etc. I didn't know this at first so had to come by daily to bring things at first. 2 - Currently there is a 14 day quarantine period in resident rooms, so they are not able to socialize until after that time. 3 - Phone service is not included with rooms. There is a common area phone (though not accessible during the quarantine period), but for rooms you will need to get xfinity VOIP setup. read more

Awful. All policy and promises. Consistent failure to meet obligations yet their billing is a well oiled machine,

had to hire outside nursing to treat my husband. We pad 1000.00 for cleaning & meals. my husband had to go to the hospital & when it was time for him to go back to PeakView Verla (who was fired) would not let him in till I said I'd be back with lawyer if she didn't stop the constant harassment. one person that had been there a very short time said watch your bill they add additional charges. they were right. we started getting late charges with no explanation of what they were for. Bottomline the director was fired right after we gave our 30 day notice. 7 staff members were also fired & the award winning chef that had been there six years quit. I was threatened that I better not write a review or there would be trouble.. I feel I have to let you know what it's like. We spent thousands of dollars & he was only there 3 months. please pay attention to the reviews. read more

If I could 1/2 a star I would because 1 star is to much. Do not be fooled worst place to leave a loved one. Extremely abusive and they do not take care of people. You will regret letting them care for your loved one. The place looks great and leads you to believe it is clean and residence are well taken care of. The staff is not trained or able to handle anyone with a memory issue. I came in and cleaned my mothers room and bathroom weekly because they did not do it even though I was charged for it. They would call me and say she was low on shampoo and soap. Yet she looked like she hadn't been bathed and her shampoo would be full. We eventually left and the process to leave was awful. We didn't realize until moving just how bad the care was. I wish they would close the doors to this hell hole. read more

Searching for an assisted living facility for a loved one is a stressful process, especially when you need a place that specializes in memory care. My advice to anyone currently beginning this process is to start it before you think you'll need it, and carefully evaluate any facility based on your needs and their qualifications. I can't speak to the general assisted living side of Peakview, but my experience with their memory care services was extremely frustrating and disappointing. If it wasn't for the fact that it would have been confusing and disorienting for my grandma, we would have moved her somewhere else. My mom and I decided on Peakview for my grandmother in November of 2020. This was not an ideal time to move her, as COVID procedures required quarantine and limited visitation, but her dementia had taken hold to the point where it just wasn't feasible to have her live by herself or with my mom anymore. Over the nearly three years that she lived there, we saw repeated director and staff turnover, which led to consistent issues with communication and the evaluation of my grandmother's health. Examples of this include: - When it was decided that my grandmother's stage of care needed to increase, meaning the cost of living would also increase, we were rarely notified that an evaluation of her care had even taken place. My mother was simply asked to sign documentation agreeing to an increase in the cost of room and board based on an increased level of care. Often, we would not see this level of care reflected in my grandmother's appearance or condition. It wasn't apparent that she was consistently receiving showers, items from my grandmother's laundry and from her room would go missing, and my mom often needed to provide care such as changing diapers, washing my grandma's hair, etc. - There were a couple of instances where Peakview would call my mother to let her know that my 94 year-old grandma had gotten "aggressive" to the point of striking another member of the community, or one of the staff members. This is something that can unfortunately happen with Alzheimer's/dementia patients. We were assured that this didn't mean we would have to pull her out of the facility, but they were required to inform us of the situation. We were not given any information about what led to these incidents, and we were not provided any written documentation that they had occurred. Even so, these were eventually used by Peakview as a driving reason to inform us that my grandma was not welcome back to the home following a hospital visit (due to infection) in August/September of 2023. Peakview sent a letter to my mother giving her 10 days to clear out all of my grandmother's belongings. I believe standard evictions, by the way, give a minimum of 30 days. This was an extraordinarily insensitive move, especially considering my grandma was subsequently entered into hospice and passed away at the beginning of September. Three years. My grandma was there for three years, and no one from Peakview even bothered reaching out to offer their condolences when she passed away. I don't believe this facility has any true insight on how to care for patients suffering from memory loss or how to support their families. read more

I would not recommend Peakview to anyone who cares about the care given to their loved one. In less than one year, there was at least three executive directors, at least three head nurses and countless other staffing changes. I realize Covid has placed staffing strains on assisted living facilities but with this much turnover, you cannot maintain consistent care of your loved one. In addition to these non-stop staffing changes, it is also nearly impossible to get through to anyone to discuss care. The most troubling part of my experience is that the most basic care needs were not consistently taken care of, including basic hygiene and trash removal. Meals and meds are provided and residents left to fend for themselves. No alerting to family that care needs need review/change. It saddens me to think how heartless and wrong this is. We thought we'd found a safe, caring facility for our loved one. Everything seemed fine for the first few months but turned into a nightmare. There were significant staff issues and constant turnover in senior positions (executive director). In the end, we felt that the staff put more effort into getting more money from the residents than providing the care they needed. We were in the facility regularly and could see what was happening. Our loved one was paying for care that was assessed but not being provided. Be aware that this is an easy way for the facility to increase its bottom line. Care assessments are very subjective, and you need to ensure your loved one is getting the care they need and not paying for care they don't need and/or are not being provided. When we raised concerns with the staff, our concerns were not addressed. Leaving the facility resulted in even more issues with agregeious billing errors that took months and legal help to resolve. read more

This facility is beautiful unfortunately it's not being ran in a good way. They have HUGE turn over with all staff, from Executive Director down to the RA's. My mother was there 1 year and the staffing was so bad she wasn't getting her showers. Look out for them trying to change the care plan just so they can charge more. My mother is still able to take her own medications but they ordered her medication through their pharmacy. I received the bill and questioned the Director of Nursing, she said she would have to send to corporate, never heard back, kept getting bills. I called the pharmacy and they told me that the Director of Nursing would have to fill out an acceptability form. I notified the Director of Nursing of this and she said "she was on hold with them as we speak". Of course I was getting all of this in writing (email). Well come to find out she either quit or got fired that same day. So I emailed the Executive Director and of course she calls and was very nasty and claims she knew nothing, well I BCC her on the initial email so I know she knew of the problem. She asked me to send her all the information I had and she would look into it. Never heard back, needless to say I got my mother the hell out of there. I think they count on the residents not knowing what is going on and hope that the family won't believe their loved one when they complain. I recommend you watch the monthly statements very carefully. read more
