Roast Beef
Sara P.

We were nearby having visited the National Comedy Center on a Sunday, and didn't realize so many places would be closed. This place was close and open so we decided to try it. Not a large place, the space which is inside the Doubletree Inn, is largely dominated by the bar, with some small tables around. I was part of a group of 6 and the servers were very accomodating, happy to let us push tables together. The service as a whole was very friendly. The menu was not extensive, a couple of burgers, and your traditional bar staples. The food, unfortunately was not good. I ordered the roast beef which was so fatty it was hard to chew, and hard to eat. Someone in an earlier post mentioned fresh cut fries, not sure if we just came during a bad week, but these were definitely not fresh cut, they were most definitely frozen fries and were cold. Another person in the group got the roast beef as well and had the same experience. Most of the rest of the group got burgers, and also commented on the poor quality, a couple citing that they seemed hard and burnt despite being ordered medium. Comfortable space, with friendly service, but the food was very subpar, would not be overly likely to come back but would likely opt to try somewhere else.

Wings with ranch and blue cheese dressing. Sauce is sweet chili sauce.

Staying in the DoubleTree and this is a nice spot for dinner. The layout is standard hotel restaurant, but the decor was inviting and the place well lit. We entered and were warmly greeted by the Staff. Having just come from Buffalo (where we had wings for lunch), we thought we'd try some wings in Jamestown. Glad we did. Order of 10 wings ($16), each large and meaty with a nice crispy skin. We got the sweet chili sauce, which we liked very much. The sauce tasted similar to the Asian Zing at B-Dubs (sweet, yet tangy), and there was a generous portion slathered on the wings and these wings were superior to those we've had at B-Dubs. Honestly, these Jamestown wings hold their own against Buffalo city wings and at a slightly lower price point. The wings came with nice sized pieces of carrot and celery. Unlike Buffalo, where I understand you will be thrown out headfirst if you request ranch dressing, we were offered both ranch dressing and blue cheese. I'm not sure what dressing they use, but both were rich and bold tasting, as was the raspberry vinaigrette that my partner got with her entree. I recommend the dressings. We also ordered entrees - salmon burger (comes with side salad) and fish tacos (comes with fries). The salmon burger was very good. The fish tacos were nicely fried (crunchy outer coating with moist fish inside) with tomato and onion pieces sprinkled on top with a mild aioli. The fish tacos were fine. I've had better and I've had worse. I probably wouldn't get them again, but would the salmon burger. The fries with the fish tacos were fine. One issue that we had that really bothers me is that we ordered the wings and then asked the Staff to come back to take our entree order. She put the wing order in and a few minutes later we ordered our entrees. About 10 minutes later, she comes with the wings and the entrees, puts them on the table and apologizes that the kitchen screwed up and here's your food. I told her that this is something they really ticks me off - I specifically ordered the appetizer and waited to order the entrees to avoid this. She said she agreed and apologized again. A few minutes later, she came back and said she spoke to the manager and that they weren't going to charge us for the wings. There was so much food that came out at the same time that we asked to box up the entrees. Unfortunately, since we are staying at a hotel with a fridge, but no microwave, I expect that we will discard some of the food (cold fried fish and fries??!!). Anyway, I would have given 5 stars, but, although they deducted the appetizer from the bill, I think they only did that because I told them how much this annoys me. I don't get the impression they would take the appetizer off the price without a fuss. So, four stars. I really enjoyed the meal, though, even though much will likely be thrown away because of the app/entree fiasco. And, to be clear, our server (I think her name was Andrea) was very nice and friendly, and was sincerely apologetic for the kitchen's timing.

Fish tacos

I am in Jamestown for work for six weeks and this place is close to my hotel. The thing to order on this menu is the fish tacos. Generous portion of fresh flaky fish in a light crispy batter. Lightly spicy chipotle sauce, basic slaw and pico... but the fish is the star. Fries always come out hot too. Definitely a standout dish in this place and a standout dish for this area.

Lounge style seating.

We found this place on Yelp and liked what wwe saw from tHe menu and reviews. When we pull led up we found it was in a hotel. Hotel restaurants have always sent me running in the past, but many hotels have ve really stepped up their game. In any case I'm glad we decided to gg I've it a try. The restaurant is not really advertised once you step into the lobby. It's off to the left and if we hadn't seen the sign outside I don't know if we would have found it. It was off to the left and juSt looked like your standard hotel sitting area with a bar. The dining tables are more lounge style tables, but still comfortable to eat at. After checking with the bartender that we were indeed I in the right place we had it choice of table. Service was a little slower than I would have liked, but didn't hamper our meal or our thoughts on the restaurant. The bartender was serving double duty and by the time we left there were four tables and the patrons af the bar. The food was excellent. My husband ordered the fish fry w/mashed potatoes (which had a really tasty smoky flavor) and I got the fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and fries. I LOVE pimento cheese and have been hooked ever since my parents moved to SC so I order it anytime I get the chance up here in the north! Everything was fantastic. The fried breading on my sandwich was very different in a good way and they did a great job with the pimento cheese. We noticed there was some other southern flair on the menu- shrimp and grits and such. Their fries are hand cut and quite tasty. Overall great meal and very reasonable prices. It's a casual place, but feels more upscale due to the decor. It's also just two blocks up from the National Comedy Center. There is street parking as well as a garage with a covered walkway to the hotel. Street parking was free on a Monday evening and the garage is max $3.75 for the day (we used it for the Comedy Center the next day). Definitely give this place a try!

Shawn is the man! Great waiter! Really on point staff and amazing food. This is such an amazing addition to our little down town! This is located in our newly remodeled double tree by Hilton. You can get in by parking at the top tier of the parking lot and coming in by the pool, parking in the parking garage and walking through the tunnel attached to the hotel, or by going in the lobby and going up the stairs/elevator. There is a nice little chill lounge in the hotel by it that has a big tv and coat check . You walk in to a nice comfy waiting area by hostess stand. Friendly hostess seats very quickly. There are plenty seating options to choose from! Booths with tvs, sofas with tables, high tables, lounge tables, seats with a view of down town, and even a private dining area. Very comfy and nicely put together. Nothing is crowded and the atmosphere is great. There are plenty of local brewery options, imports, domestics, and a well executed cocktail list. I've tried their minty mule, southern teir brewery, and Manhattan so far. They were all perfect. We all started with a stuffed pepper as our appetizer. It was stuffed with chorizo and 3 types of cheese then beer battered and fried. We loved it! We expected more chorizo from the menu description, but we weren't disappointed at all! It was wonderful! The pearl city burger was very well crafted. It was adorned in a sharp white cheddar, onion strings, fried green tomatoes, and bacon aioli. We ordered a side of beer cheese with it that we all devoured by dipping the delicious perfectly cooked and salted hand cut fries in. Shawn our amazing waiter recommended the prime rib, he said it was so tender it was like like butter when you cut into it. He was 100% accurate. This prime rib was an amazing juicy tender cut cooked just right! It was topped with butter and sauteed Shallotte! I'm licking my lips just thinking about it! It did however need salt, that's just my personal preference. Within 1 quick grind of the salt shaker i was in heaven! The rice pilaf side was excellent and bursting with flavor. We couldn't make up for minds so the 3 of us split 2 desserts. First was the huge beautiful slice of black raspberry ombre cake. I can't recommend this enough! Presentation and taste were phenomenal. Another great recommendation from our waiter Shawn. Their caramel brownie cheese cake was decadent, creamy, and rich! It was Sooo Goooood! Lovely plating as well with fresh blueberries, whip, and sauce on both plates. I can't recommend this place enough! I'm in love!

Prime rib was amazing

Their wings hold up to Western NY standards. Delish rice pilaf and house made fries. Big salads super fresh. Had good wait staff all 3 visits. Had their filet, prime rib, and ny strip steak all were really good! Tender choice cuts cooked perfectly. Have tried every dessert. Loved them all.

The chicken was great. Our waitress was alone and worked a lot of tables. Definitely a destination in downtown J town.

Their previous menu was delicious, but now it's a super limited menu of overpriced pub foods. Very disappointed.
