    Cabernet $25

We're in town for a wedding & were looking for a good dinner spot for just me & my husband. We came across this place on Yelp & decided to check it out. At this point, we know we're in a small town, so choices are somewhat limited. The Chop House looked good, and upon entering the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised at how classy it was! We ordered the half wedge salad and lobster bisque to start. The wedge was alright, I would've liked some bacon in it! The lobster bisque was....different. It has the consistency and look of a Campbells cream of mushroom, but luckily, it tasted alright! We shared the ribeye with asparagus and mushroom. The steak had good grill marks but was more rare than the medium rare we ordered and was not seasoned to our liking. Not bad though. The service was good, and the gm & owner came by to check on us. Overall, a good experience. $25 bottle of Cabernet was a plus!

Can we talk about the Menu built for all, the beautiful ambience and the attentive staff (Jesse, John)? After our visit to the Natl Comedy Museum we felt the need to eat something wonderful. The Chop House did it all. From Scallops to Pot Roast with Gnocchi to Sslmon, it was done to perfection. Mind you there is that Menu that is built for everyone price wise and taste wise. This is a must visit for anyone local or out-of-town. Thank you Chop House

I cannot say enough good things about this place and it's staff. You can literally cut your steaks with a butter knife! They were so juicy and tender. We absolutely were in love with the truffle fries, steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, bread with assorted butters, and drinks. I am a complete snob when it comes to my Manhattans and Moscow mules, these were perfect. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the crab mac'n'cheese. That being said I still ate it and didn't hate it. I just prefer a cheesier creamier mac. They completely remodeled this place to turn it into a beautiful classy steakhouse. All of our wait staff, the bartender, the manager, and the chef were beyond welcoming and amazing at their jobs.

The off-menu steak special - the Tomahawk! Chef Burke tells us there are usually a few on hand - request it!

Delightful meal & ambiance! I hope to dine here every time we visit family. Modern design that is well thought out. 7 of us shared wonderful laughs, cocktails, dinner & dessert. Also, it's a family affair! Chef Burke is a hometown friend and his daughter M was our wonderful waitress. I recommend the scallops and all the desserts! We got a sneak peak at a new event/meeting space attached & it's beautiful!

Staff is always amazing, interior is beautiful, food is delicious, live music - what more could I ask for?

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

But there's a good mix of other cocktails and beers too. The owner seems really nice, she was working the kitchen along with a couple other family members, good to see, especially since it was all women- love a female owned business that's doing well and doing it right. Chicken tenders were good, not great but I think they're on the menu to placate the kids coming so fair enough. The rest of the food was GREAT. We started with calamari and it was great, came with a lemon dressing already on it which was good and didn't detract from the crispiness at all. Also had lots of battered pepper rings as well, nice balance. Combo seafood basket was solid. The shrimp were great as was the haddock - all battered on site. Fries were thin and crispy. The winner though was the California Grouper sandwich which was a daily special. It was fantastic. I could have eaten two. Came on a soft roll, with slaw and bacon and avocado and I forget what else because I devoured it so quickly. I'd go back just for that sandwich. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're ever out by the lake.

My nephew absolutely loved the oysters, and several dishes at our table were excellent. We chose Oyster Bay House because my mom loves seafood, and we were genuinely excited to make it part of a special celebration. Unfortunately, the service simply didn't match the quality of the food or the prices being charged. Our server wasn't rude or unfriendly, but she seemed unprepared and surprisingly inattentive for a restaurant where entrées range from roughly $30-$70. The restaurant didn't appear especially busy, yet there were long stretches where we had no idea where our server was. I had to ask for an iced tea at least five different times. There were several instances where we reminded her about drinks, refills, and other requests, only for them to either never arrive or take an unusually long time. Eventually, I got up from the table and went searching for her myself to request water refills, my iced tea, and to have plates cleared before our entrées arrived. That's not something guests should have to do at any restaurant, let alone one positioned as an elevated dining experience. There was little explanation of the oyster selections, basic questions about kids' menu options were met with, "I have to figure out what those are," and there were virtually no check-ins throughout the meal to make sure everything was going well. Ironically, one of the last things we were asked was whether everything had come out great--when there was no longer an opportunity to address any concerns. What struck me most was that even my brother-in-law--someone who is incredibly easygoing and never complains--was starting to become visibly uneasy with how the evening was unfolding. That's when I realized it wasn't just me being particular. The lack of attentiveness had started to create tension during what was supposed to be a joyful family celebration. For six people spending several hundred dollars on a milestone birthday dinner, I wasn't expecting perfection. I was simply expecting the level of hospitality and attentiveness that should accompany that kind of investment. The kitchen delivered. The service did not. I genuinely wanted to love Oyster Bay House, and I hope this was simply an off night. But based on this experience, I'm not sure I would choose to return.

It's old and run down and needs upgrades especially in the bathroom. The door in the restroom couldn't even close and it blocked the sink. I had to stand on the side of the sink to wash my hands. Then the blower to dry my hands was very weak ( they need a new one) and there were no paper towels available to dry my hands, so I had to allow them to air dry until I got to the table and used napkins. This place is like a catch of the day, sea to take kind of place. Which I would expect being located on the bay. But the seafood was flavorless. The table had fried calamari, and although it wasn't chewy, it wasn't seasoned with anything so it was like cheating crispy air. The other food was pretty flavorless as well, which seems to be a trend in Erie, PA. I had a burger, the burger wasn't anything to be desired. Definitely lacked flavor and seasoning. The fries were good fried pretty good but had no salt. The veggies on my burger however were fresh and had a good crunch. The fish was a bit under fried for my liking, I sent back and they fried another piece without a problem, but it still could have been fried longer. The chocolate cake was ok not too sweet however, it was a bit dense. I probably wouldn't come back here.
