After enjoying an afternoon at Niagara Falls, my sister, son and I wanted some lunch. Seeing this business had such a high rating, we decided to give it a try. We walked in after lunch time on a weekday. We took a few minutes to decide what we wanted and ordered at the counter. We then walked to the dining area and waited for our food. There was only one other table with a few people eating. It was not busy at all. The food started arriving shortly. My son ordered a cheeseburger. It was fine, nothing special. I ordered the 2 piece Cod Fish and Chips (sub onion rings), and my sister ordered the Clamp Strips and Fries. We decided to share our meals. The fish had an overwhelming fish flavor and the batter had no flavor. It was definitely not was I was expecting. The clam strips were very tiny and a very small portion. The onion rights were not freshly made, if they were I couldn't tell. Nothing special at all. The best part was the fried pineapple rings. I would order those again in a heartbeat. Service was fine, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. It was an OK meal, nothing I would go out of my way to get. WOW! Best fish and chips I've had in my life 10/10. Great portions, amazing quality, and the most friendliest of servers. I got the halibut and it was flakey, tasty, and had a good breading very crispy. The inside was clean and they had a bunch of seating. I have a bit of an obsession with finding really good Fish & Chips so when planning my trip from Cleveland to Toronto I was looking for a lunch stop in Buffalo or Niagara Falls and Lakeport Fish & Chips popped up in my Yelp search. Located not far from the highway Lakeport was not hard to find in a small strip of shops. Stepping in I was surprised how small the shop was, although clean and well laid out, although there is no place to eat in the shop. The menu is clear and has some great choices, even better there are a bunch of specials that offer amazing value. The very young man at the register was very helpful. It being a Tuesday I went for the Tuesday special which is 1 piece of fish and chips for $4.09, the food came up in about 5 minutes so it was out to the car to eat. The fish was a large fillet of mild white fish in an amazing batter that was crisp, tasty and very light. There was an overly generous portion of medium sized fries. Everything was incredibly fresh and hot. This was an excellent lunch at a fantastic price, some of the best fried fish I have encountered. I would usually describe Lakeport as a hole in the wall place, however it seemed almost too nice for that; instead I will say this is an incredible takeout only place to get some outstanding fried fish. Food is top-notch, prices are reasonable and the specials are outstanding. If you are in the area this should be on your list provided you have some place to eat the food. read more

Visited Lakeport Niagara location on 9/12/23. arrived about 5:30 PM, the place was busy, busy. there is an eat in area off to the left of the lobby entrance, but it's not much...and it is very warm in there. we were looking for a to go order, there was a special advetised, two pieces of fish, your choice, chips and cole slaw. Our order at the counter was taken by a young lady..VERY young like 10 or 12? she was making a valiant effort behind that register but naturally enough she was struggling. Had to repeat my order multiple times, as she did not seem to undersatnd I was ordering TWO 2 piece specials. Also ordered the jumbo shrimp. getting tartar sauce was, well.....challenging. i know these things cost way more than they used to, but everyone who asked for tartar sauce, seafood sauce or lemon was scrutinized like they were robbing a bank. Reciepts were demanded and studied to see if the condiments were paid for, and a long wait ensued while the requested items were found (probably had to unlock the safe) and brought up...and paid for (79 cents for tiny cups of sauce or two slices of lemon) Finally our food was ready and in the front and I made the mistake of asking for an extra tartar sauce. The bag was literally snatched from my hand and the stapled reciept studied, then the bag was placed back behind the counter and the search for the tartar ensued. when the sauce arrived back up front, was paid for, I had to ask for the actual order back. Once we arrived back home, we found our fish and shrimp to be beautifully packaged and wrapped in brown paper, rubber banded closure with a peppermint tucked on top. it was really lovely for a fast food type order, though in my opinion the mint could easily be done away with and replaced with a more relaxed sauce policy. The fish was some of the best fried haddock I have ever had, light, white, flaky, moist, flavorful, with a just right batter that was light and crispy and never overwhelmed the fish. sad to say the tiny cups of tartar suace were overheated or stale, and tasted rancid. The jumbo shrimp were also lovely large and succulent, perfectly cooked, and the seafood sauce in the packet was fine. Chips were ok, nothing really special, the quantity would have fed ten people, but I noticed this seems to be a Canada thing, overdoing and extra generous with the potatoes. I LOVE french fries or chips, but I got my fill for a lifetime after five days up there....:) The promised cole slaw that went with our specials was, sadly, missing from the bag. Overall, I am sorry we won't have the chance to return anytime soon, because I would certainly try them again...and recommend you do, too! read more

Fresh and generous portions of fish. The dill pickle spears are heavily breaded, but the pickle was very flavorful, so the combination was awesome!! Onion rings & poutine were excellent sides to this very tasty meal! We choose Lakeport Fish & Chips every time we visit the area! read more

I saw they were the best rated restaurant near the KOA on Lundy Lane. Husband got the fish n chips. 2 huge pieces 10 inches long, wouldn't fit in their box! I got jumbo shrimp ala crate and regular poutine. Big big shrimp cooked right and poutine fabulous as I can only get it once a year when I come to Canada from the U.S. 36 dollars later we had our money's worth and more. Food tasted clean, not greasy. Not too salty and CRISP! Cole slaw was okay. Definitely the best restaurant on Lundy Lane in my opinion. read more

Cold food, almost 2 hours for delivery and when I called to complain they called me a liar. Terrible customer service. Maybe the food is good, but fried food is just a greasy mess when it's cold, and it was cold by the time they delivered it. "We will discount your next order " is what a woman said on the phone , no apologies nor did she take our name. The food is delicious , arrived hot however care should be taken when orders are delivered that they are complete . Yep Two Star it should have been Three star's but the owner is an asshole. But only because of the pricing we still eat here. The service is absolutly awful and has been so over the last two years. The casheir's and the cooks change like crazy so you never know what flavour you will get on each week. Sometimes Sweet, sassy or angry. The Halibut is good but the portion should have been bigger, and shrimp basket is really good. The Tuesday special (Alaskan Pollock) is worth the money, but watch out. Twice we have had pre-cooked cold fish from here, and when I complained to the owner he refused to acknowledge my complaint and said it was not there. So we stopped going to this restaurant for over a year and just recently went back again. Well I have to say the service still sucks, the food is eatable, but twice our fries were under cooked. "We had dinner on Monday night, the long weekend. The owner took our order and we paid in advance. We got our table and seated for about half hour and we didn't get our order served and apparently people who came after us got served. The owner came to us and apologized that our order was given away by mistake to someone else, and asked us how long we waited and we told him that it had been a little over half hour. He suggested that we can get a full refund or he can make it extra by throwing in extra pieces of halibut, fries and coleslaw, which we had ordered earlier. We decided to stay and he came and served us dinner and the service was as promised. The dinner was incredible! You have to try their halibut. The owner was very accommodating and he gave us VIP treatment. I highly recommend this gem of Niagara falls. He apologized again and promised an even better service on our next visit. Lakeport is a family run business. Even the children work at the restaurant. You will never find a better run place. All employees are knowledgeable, helpful and very polite. The food is exceptional and very reasonably priced. Their specials are very popular. My family has been going there for years and have always had a perfect meal. There has never been any issues. Every experience has been very pleasant. I think when a restaurant is this good, it deserves a great review - they have certainly earned it. read more
