Shortly after, he even cleared me to get braces. Four years ago, another dentist at the same office saw me and confirmed that the same root canal did need to be done. Because he was my primary dentist, I had to wait to see him for the final word. When I finally did, he said I was fine. I saw him again this past January, and he told me everything looked good. However, the hygienist I saw in March pointed out that the tooth needed to be fixed, noting it had already been flagged by the other doctor four years prior.They finally scheduled an appointment for him to do the root canal, but when I arrived, he told me I now need an implant. For years he told me I was fine, and then suddenly I need an implant. He completely failed to keep me informed about what was actually happening with my teeth. I am incredibly disappointed in him, and I feel deeply saddened by how this was handled. I trusted him completely, and it hurts to know that my tooth could have been saved if he had just listened to his colleagues and properly monitored my care. My girlfriend paid approximately $4,000 IN FULL for wisdom tooth treatment that she STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED. I personally helped her schedule and confirm these appointments, drove/accompanied her through this process, and even called the office myself to verify appointment times. This was not a simple misunderstanding. Her first wisdom tooth surgery was scheduled for 6:00 AM. She showed up as instructed, waited, and the procedure was canceled approximately 30 minutes AFTER she arrived. She was eventually scheduled the other side of her mouth August 1 at 10:00 AM. She arrived around 9:50 AM and waited over 40 minutes -- NOT ONE EMPLOYEE SHOWED UP. No receptionist, assistant, or provider. Nobody. She was completely stood up for a SURGICAL PROCEDURE that had already been paid for. I want to emphasize that I PERSONALLY CALLED TO CONFIRM THIS APPOINTMENT. She also confirmed it herself and arranged approved time away from work specifically for the procedure. We did everything we could to make sure there was no confusion, yet she still arrived for surgery and found an empty office. The required CT scan was mishandled too. The Salinas office repeatedly told both of us that her appointment at the Gilroy location was July 31 at 9:00 AM. She arrived at 9:00 only to find out Gilroy didn't even open until 9:15 and Salinas had actually put her down for 12:00 PM. Thankfully, the Gilroy staff were professional enough to accommodate her anyway. And now comes the part that makes this whole experience even worse: AccuDental still has the approximately $4,000 she paid for a surgery they never performed. She has called and emailed requesting her money back, and nobody will respond or return her calls. I have watched her repeatedly try to get this resolved. At this point, seeing a medical office accept thousands of dollars, fail to provide the paid-for surgery, and then fail to communicate about returning the money is absolutely unacceptable. As her partner and someone who personally participated in confirming these appointments, I witnessed how badly this was handled. Watching her take time away from work and repeatedly show up as instructed only to be canceled on or literally stood up was ridiculous. DO NOT PAY THIS OFFICE IN FULL BEFORE RECEIVING YOUR SERVICE. Based on what I personally witnessed, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere, especially if you need a surgical procedure. We are now considering legal action just to recover money paid for a surgery that was never performed. I will gladly update this review if AccuDental finally responds and returns her money.

That recommendation was apparently disregarded. Approximately one month later, the molar cracked, and I lost the tooth. Coastal Dental then claimed they knew nothing about the specialist's request for a crown. Regardless of where the communication failed, I am the one who suffered the permanent consequences. Based on my experience, there is a serious lack of communication, coordination, and proper follow-up at this office. I did not feel that I received personalized care. My impression was that the focus was more on money and numbers than on the patient. I cannot recommend Coastal Dental Care. Losing a tooth after treatment--when a specialist had recommended a crown--was unacceptable. I STRONGLY suggest looking elsewhere for dental care.

I even got the insurance involved due to filing a grievance and the case is "closed and resolved" yet when the insurance tried to call and justify the amount they were told the office was unable to provide the insurance information because they aren't the patient. Okay, but they're the insurance company? They're doing their job calling on behalf of the patient to correct the billing but western dental flat out refused to provide any information. Unfortunately parents don't have many other options for in network providers due to insurance otherwise we would have never gone here. I actually ended up finding an independent dentist who gave me a better estimate for the same services western dental was trying to rip us off over. Can you contact me?? I've already filed a grievance against that office so it's pointless to call. Your office manager basically told me to leave because the case is closed and didn't want to handle it anymore, she said there's nothing to do since it's my insurances decision however the grievance I filed was for $1500ish and the insurance DENIED $500ish and your office is charging $1600 and REFUSED to provide our insurance any additional information to justify that amount. That $1500ish was for a retainer impression which was cancelled the same day back in February! Your office said it was up to the discretion of the dentist to authorize the cancelled contract. The last conversation I had IN PERSON at your office last month in July I was told it was his COPAY for the deep cleaning even though we have EOBs stating otherwise which state both insurances covered the cleaning. Your office manager keeps saying the copay is for different things, first it was a retainer impression for my parents upper bridge, this last time in person she said it was his deep cleaning copay, those are two completely different things! And that's what I'm calling fraud because you can't say it's for one thing and then another especially when I'm recording all the documentation from every conversation I've been having with you guys. Our insurance called for an itemized statement which your billing department specifically told me to ask your office for and they refused to provide that to the insurance company like how is that legal? Your corporate office is just as useless, I've spoke to grievance, billing and customer service and no one wants to help or "has access" to anything. You guys are really making it difficult to get the account adjusted for SERVICES NOT RECEIVED!
