Pearls is one of my hidden secrets on the island, because you of the plate lunches. These are the best plate lunches on the island in my opinion. These portions are absolutely massive and large enough for a couple of people to share or for a few servings. I love the selection of all the vegetables as sides, and all the options for proteins. All and all, you are able to get a pretty well balanced plate lunches here. 100/100 recommend!

We grabbed two plates for dinner the other day from Pearl's Korean BBQ and everything hit the spot. I really enjoyed the food here and appreciated how generous they are with the side portions definitely not stingy! I swapped out the rice for another side which was a nice option to have. I got the meat jun, and it was tasty with a good dipping sauce though I do wish they included just one more piece to make it feel a bit more complete. Pearl's is definitely a solid spot when you're craving a satisfying, local style Korean BBQ meal. I'll be back!

Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken Combo Plate
Sandra X.

My family shared the Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken combination plate, and it was super filling for the 3 of us. We're light eaters, but for $20.99, it's a great deal. They give you a generous portion of both meats, 2 scoops of rice, and the option to choose 4 sides, so you get a lot of variety. The BBQ chicken had a flavorful marinade that infused throughout the chicken, and the Meat Jun was especially delicious when paired with the red dipping sauce--it really elevated the flavor. The portions were generous enough to easily feed 2 people or stretch into 2 meals, depending on your appetite. Service was quick! There was no one in line before us, so the food came out fast and hot, which is always a plus. The seating area indoors is spacious, casual, and air-conditioned, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. Parking is also convenient, with plenty of spaces available in the Don Quijote lot or in the lot across the street.

BBQ Chicken Plate with Kim chee and Mac salad. The thick parts of the chicken weren't cooked enough

Was at Don Quijote and decided to try this place for lunch. It's a clean place with a big menu. But the low score I give because the lady taking our order was kind of rude to the point we felt she must not like her job. Ordered the bbq chicken and it wasn't fully cooked and was a little chewy. Also got the kalbi, and it was cooked properly and was a big portion. When we asked for soy sauce for the rice, it was like we were asking her to donate blood. She must have been having a bad day.

This is a convenient location. I had an appointment nearby and decided to have my lunch here and it turned out good. I have ordered a mini bbq beef plate and they did provide me with enough to fill me up for the day and not too much as I have been eating too much lately. The food was good and the service with also good so this is a good convenient spot when I am near by.

I was here today and picked up a mini kalbi plate. It was pretty good. Instead of rice, I got three sides instead. I got the shoyu potatoes, mayo potatoes and chap chae. The two pieces of kalbi were ok. It had nice flavoring, but had excess cartilage making it hard to chew. The shoyu potatoes were missing that sweet shiny glaze that I'm used to. Some places shallow pan fry the potatoes first before putting it in the sauce. That's how I like mine. Some places just cook the potatoes in the sauce without frying it first. The mayo potatoes were good. It had a strong garlic powder taste, but I liked it. There was no one in line before me, so the food came out super fast.

Chicken Katsu Plate

Some of the best chicken katsu i've ever had. Mac was so good too and service was super quick.

Pearl's Korean BBQ located just by the entrance of Don Quijote.

I will be honest to say that I'm not a regular at Pearl's Korean BBQ, as I have tendencies to go to Peppa's, or Red Pepper Korean BBQ. The times I do end up going to Pearl's Korean BBQ, I only have positive things to say about this fast food Korean joint. My good friend Chi was flying back to da 808 from Germany, and since I was gonna head to the airport to pick him up, I figured I'd pick him up a plate of food as I know he was flying for over 26 hours, just to get back to da 808. Pearl's Korean BBQ is da place I ended up at, and I am most happy to say that the service here was pleasant, & efficient. Located by the entrance area (just next door) of Don Quijote on Kaheka, you can find this Korean eatery with a much spacious seating area, as well as the standard Korean fast food offerings. While I was there, I picked up a mini Meat Jun plate for my friend, and if you check out my pic, you will clearly see the shear volume of food that they offer for just a "mini". My friend was most gracious & appreciative of the food, and ended up gobbling up da entire plate at 3:00 AM (he texted me at that time - his time zone internal clock must be all screwed up! Lol!). The nice thing about going to Pearl's is not only can you get a hearty plate of food, but if you have some kinda party & wanna cater a tray of Korean grub, this location also does party platters (which I'm pretty sure you must order in advance). Looking for some ono Korean grindages??? Ya gotta check out this Pearl's Korean BBQ just next door from the Don Quijote in Kaheka.

Meat jun

I ordered meat jun. I don't need to give an explanation why I have to send the pics. It is overcooked and I do believed oil was old. They are very bad. It was Cost me about $20 No more visit here.

Mini plate is humongous and plenty! We came all the way from Pāhoa! Awesome grinds! We definitely be back again!

Bi Bim Kook Soo. Delicious beef!
Casey H.

Great food and great value. We ordered the Bi Big Kook So, and the Mean Jun + Spicy Chicken plate with a side of Kim Chee. The Meat Jun was our favorite and the beef in the Bi Bim Kook Soo was a close second. The beef was soft and delicious. The spicy chicken was a bit too marinated. The noodles in the Bi Bim Kook Soo were also great. Not too spicy and not overly salt. For sides, we really loved the seaweed. The rest were on par with what we would expect for this type of meal and price. The Mac salad was heavy on mayo. Overall, great value for an easy meal delivered to the house. Would do it again!

One thing we noticed right away was that it was pretty warm inside. I'm not sure if the A/C wasn't on yet or if it was having issues, but it's something to keep in mind if you're visiting during the day. We waited about 5 minutes at the front without seeing any staff or receiving a greeting. Eventually, a server rushed in through the door and was clearly scrambling to get everything set up. After another 5 minutes, she finally seated us. She apologized and explained that the person who was supposed to open didn't show up, so she had to cover everything herself. Throughout our visit, several parties who arrived after us also ended up waiting 10 minutes or more to be seated. That was really the only downside of our experience. The server was doing her best under the circumstances, and it seemed like an unfortunate staffing issue rather than the norm. Now for the food--it was excellent! We originally came for the $5.99 naengmyeon special, and it was absolutely worth it. We also shared the spicy pork and the meat jun, and both dishes were surprisingly delicious. Everything was flavorful, and the portions were satisfying. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Despite the rough start, the food made up for it, and I'm hopeful the staffing situation was just a one-off. Hopefully they'll also get the A/C situation sorted out because that would make the dining experience even better.

Had to call and up the count on our reservation twice, female did that well. They put us in the far back corner and it was warm. Female did come and turn the fan on after a little while, explaining the AC was broken. Fan did help, but I was near the fan. I don't think it reached the folks farther in (there were 8 of us). Three of us ordered the stone pot bibimbap with bulgogi. One wanted to sub BBQ chicken, was told, "no." She had to change her order since she doesn't eat beef. Friend later told me she had been accommodated before, but these seemed to be new owners.) Two ordered BBQ Chicken plates, one the stir fried squid, one kimchee fried rice, one meat jun, a fish jun. Ban Chan came - two sets (one per table of four) of bean sprouts, fish cake, Choi sum, potatoes, kimchee. They were good. Cold water was served, and after a while we were given a pitcher so we could refill our cups, which was good. Food didn't take overly long to come out but wasn't really quick. (There were only two servers and the restaurant filled up quickly.) Stone pot bibimbap flavor was a disappointment. Only gochujung sauce to add, no sesame seed oil, so it was bland. Both of us who got it didn't think it was very tasty. Otherwise, it was nice and hot, and there was plenty of crispy rice after mixing it all up, and it included a raw egg which added some flavor, but not much. I will not get it again. Those with the BBQ chicken said it was tasty and juicy. Meat jun and fish jun was ok. Kimchee fried rice and stir fried squid were very spicy. Flavor was ok. Had to ask for our checks, were told they had only two staff working so they were very busy, but they kindly accommodated four separate checks for the eight of us. Not sure if I'll return. Prices are reasonable for the portion size, but no AC, bland stone pot bibimbap, we're not to my liking.

It doesn't come with salad, egg, or soup, but you still get a solid KBBQ experience with just meat and banchan. If you're looking for something simple and satisfying, this is a great deal. The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
