Great Korean takeout-style restaurant in the Midtown Eats food court. My visit here was a story about forgiveness. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Napster ruled the online music game, I used to go the the Pearl City location frequently. Then, I had an extremely bad experience there and never went back. That past experience made me hesitant to try this location, but I did and the food and experience were great. I got a Sadie's Special which was great! Like most Korean takeout places, you get to select your sides and can replace your rice with one additional veggie side. This plate includes King Kalbi which is very high on my list. It was delicious, but if it came pre-cut that would be nice because it can be a little difficult to cut using plastic utensils. Lucky I am an expert with a polymer cutlery. I ordered at the kiosk, but the worker was extremely nice and enhanced the visit. I would definitely come back if I am in the mood for Korean fare. read more

Sunday May 31, 2026 First time, trying the Korean food from Sadie's BBQ. Street parking on Keeaumoku Street or parking in the structure and the parking entrance is at 1515 Liona Street. Parking is FREE for now. Take the escalator to go down to the Midtown Eats building. You can order at the counter when slow or at the kiosk for faster service when busy. Credit card only!! Service is fast and friendly. Food came out 10-15 minutes shortly after. It looked good and tasted good. Ambiance is casual and comfortable in here. We will be back again. Initial visit for a late lunch. Midtown Eats isn't busy during off peak hours....never been here in the evening. Sadie's BBQ has their original location in the Pearl City Shopping Center - I've never patronized. This Liona St. locale is open daily from 1100a till 900p. They are a bit pricier than the other establishments in the food hall. I asked an employee if they put fish sauce in their kim chee...she said it was shrimp paste...I'm not a seafood fan. Requested the King Kal Bi plate ( this is their signature dish ) for takeout and it took about ten minutes. King Kal Bi is a thicker cut than most beef short ribs you will get for a kal bi dish. The beef was welll seasoned and tender. Banchan was your typical fare - I liked the potatoes, not quite as sweet as most Korean fast casual eateries. While I enjoy kal bi - my go-to is meat jun. i definitely want to try their version. read more

First time at Midtown Eats. Super nice place and free parking also. Walked around and saw that Sadie's was here. I wanted to try this place so I ordered two plates. Kalbi/Meat Jun and Kalbi/BBQ Chicken. The employee very friendly. Meat jun was good. Not the best I've had but very tasty. The BBQ chicken was great, very tasty. Now Kalbi, great flavor but the meat was super chewy and I was kinda disappointed because it was expensive. IDK about trying it again because I don't want to spend money on chewy Kalbi. Sadie's BBQ Inn, IMHO one of the best local Korean eateries, can now be enjoyed again at a reasonable price. For example, the Sadie's Special (big bone kalbi, bbq chicken, met jun, mandoo) is only $28.95 versus $36.95 in Pearl City. Flavors remain the same. The big bone kalbi, well marinated throughout. It is well trimmed and grilled. The BBQ chicken, equally well marinated, cooked so firm on the outside, moist on the inside. No complaints on the meat jun with sweet, MSG laden crack dipping sauce. Always a fave, super filled mandoo. Very flavorful but oily spicy pork. Well made seafood pancake. A twist, choose your own banchan. The kimchee is fresher than most with mild fermentation. All others are lower in salt than most four choice spots making them good foils for the very flavorful proteins. Asian counter service. Kiosk ordering not yet available. Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... Located at Midtown Eats - on the Ground Level of the Park on Keeaumoku, Sadie's BBQ (known for its Korean food) has its second location! Originally from Pearl City, it's nice to support a local business in town. Most Honolulu residents don't like to drive to another zip code, so this Food Hall location is more convenient! It's also clean, new, well-lit, air-conditioned, and has secured restrooms on the mauka end of the Hall. Get the door code from one of the vendors. I ordered the LA Kalbi plate which comes with four banchan. I chose seaweed, cucumber kimchi, choi sum, and broccoli. When I opened my takeout container, I was surprised to see potatoes. I went back to the counter, showed my receipt, and got a side of seaweed... no problem! Thank you! Everything tasted delicious! The kalbi was sliced thinly, so the meat was tender. I was seriously craving comfort food and this place hit the spot. The meat jun was so good -- perfectly seasoned, tender, and fried just right with that light egg batter on the outside. Crispy edges but still juicy inside. Exactly how it should be. Everything tasted homemade and comforting. You can tell they care about flavor and quality. We had lunch at Midtown Eats today. My hubby grabbed a plate from Sadie's BBQ. He decided on the two meat combo $21.95. The choices are: meat jun, bbq chicken, spicy garlic chicken and spicy pork). He chose spicy garlic chicken and bbq chicken. The plate comes with white rice and four choices of banchan. You get to choose from: kimchi, cucumber kimchi, mac salad, bean sprouts, spicy bean sprouts, broccoli, choy sum, seaweed, cabbage, fishcake and shoyu potatoes. He went with shoyu potatoes, kimchi and two portions of seaweed. I sampled from his plate and I had no complaints. The spicy garlic chicken was crispy with a sweet glaze to it. It wasn't too spicy. Decided to checkout the new eater in town and settled on Sadie's for dinner. Disclaimer: I've never actually been to the original location in Pearl City but I've always heard such great reviews. Now, I don't have to look very far since they opened up this second location! Ordered a meat jun and spicy pork combo as well as a seafood pancake to share with my girlfriends. I really liked how flavorful the meat Jun was but the pancake stole the show for me. It was crispy and packed with seafood and green onions. My favorite part about it was the fact that was super crispy without being so oily! The plate was HEFTY and the pancake was huge with reasonable prices. Came to check out Midtown Eats and was glad to see Sadie's BBQ!! Right away we knew we were gonna eat here. We came when they opened so it was at the right time, lunch got busy. I'm so happy that Sadie's opened another restaurant in Midtown Eat Food Hall. The restaurant looks very clean, staffs are very friendly but they should know more about their menu. 1. Combo A with 1 meat - $24.95 I love their Kalbi, it's very flavorful and tender. Their Banchan was pretty good. I picked another protein as BBQ Chicken. It's well made. Perfect match with my Kalbi. 2. Seafood Pancake - $15.99 Delicious!! It's very crunchy and lots of ingredients inside. 3. Soft Tofu soup combo - $20.99 It has to be ordered with the combo with 4 banchans. Lots of seafood inside the soup. Not over spicy but very flavorful. They offer great food selection and the portion size of each entree is sufficient for the amount charged. It's the first day opened and service is quick and efficient. Went to Sadie's BBQ today. Save your monies as the pictures posted are not what you will receive. Paid $21.95 for 2 choice of meat (BBQ Chicken/Meat Jhun). You will receive 1 piece of chicken and 6 measly thin pieces of meat jhun. Really shameful...this is the third visit to Midtown Eats and possibly the last. The Japanese and Thai places are about the same as Sadie's...high prices...shameful portions, food taste...okay but not great. Noticed foot traffic of construction workers...once those projects are done...uuummm. This place is just a novelty for now being new. My recommendation if it means anything...Save your monies and go elsewhere instead of Midtown Eats. This food court establishment will go belly up even before they can get established... read more

I'd like to try some of the other dishes, but the kimchi pancake was disappointing. It wasn't crispy at all--somehow it was soggy and burnt at the same time. It also lacked flavor completely. I ordered it along with four other dishes from different vendors, and no one ended up eating the pancake or even wanting to try it because it looked unusual. It was a very bright red color, which doesn't seem typical for a kimchi pancake. I would give the pancake 0 stars so I'll give the establishment 2 stars in hopes that some other dishes are better. We ordered a mix of classics and were happy overall. The seafood pancake was thick, generously packed, and very crispy, loaded with squid, shrimp, and big pieces of green onion and leeks. It came with a dipping sauce that leaned sweet soy and umami, which paired well, though a little heat or spice would've taken it to the next level. Because it's on the thicker side, the pancake does eat slightly dense -- still satisfying, just something to note. We also tried the Kalbi and Meat Jun combo, which came with four vegetable sides: spicy sprouts, seaweed, mac salad, and kimchi. Flavor-wise, everything was phenomenal and well-seasoned, but the portion size felt a bit small for the $24 price point. Big plus: Sadie's is located inside Midtown Eats, the new food hall in town, and parking in the structure is free, which makes it an easy stop. My coworkers and I decided to finally come check out this food hall to get our Korean bbq food fix and Sadie's did not disappoint! The servings are very generous, great for sharing. I had the two meat combo with kalbi and spicy garlic chicken. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The spicy garlic chicken isn't too spicy, it has a little bit of sweetness to it. The kalbi was tender and not overly cooked. The cashier was very nice and patient as we had quite a few plates we ordered. Got the bbq chicken and meat jun plate for $22 with no rice and an extra vegetable, the price is a bit high for the portion size compared to yummys or pearls. There was one piece of chicken and 6 slices of meat jun. Flavor of the vegetables was good the mac salad was my favorite with lots of pepper! The choi sum I think was put out by mistake cause it had no seasoning. The bbq chicken and meat jun were good but on the sweet side. Will definitely come back! Great addition to the area! read more

Was excited to try this place, after what I heard and read. Maybe it was an off day, because the banchan was the best out of all we ate. The meat for the bulgogi, meat jun, and kalbi were different variation of toughness. Let's start with the bulgogi, lukewarm, dehydrated, tough- bulgogi jerky Kalbi- lukewarm, chewy- kalbi gum Meat Jun- Soggy, tough- Bulgogi was salty, kalbi and meat jun had pretty decent flavor, but the food temperature, the toughness of the meat made things difficult to enjoy. Horrible experience here. Ordered a 2 meat combo plate with bbq chicken and garlic chicken and chose 4 sides. 22 minutes later I noticed people who ordered after me were getting their food. Asked the girl at the counter after standing there for a few minutes and nobody asked me if I needed help. Gave her my receipt. She went to the back counter and handed me a plate wrapped in a bag. Drove 15 minutes home to find out it was the wrong plate. Not only was it the wrong plate the contents of the plate did not even match what was written on the box with a sharpie. These people obviously have no clue what is going on. Worst yet I couldn't eat the plate since it was pork. I do not eat pork. Somehow two of the four sides did match what I ordered. So I paid $23 for Choi Sum and fish cake. Couldn't have had a worse experience. Check your food before you leave if you roll the dice and go here. read more

Decided to try the new eatery that recently opened on Keeaumoku Street. .We ordered meat Jun and Bbq chicken as take out. Please note they do not have mini plates here. We really enjoyed the Bbq chicken it was very tasty and the meat jun was not overly battered so you could get the meat in every bite. All the sides were very good and even if it looked as it would be too spicy like the spicy cucumber was not but very flavorful. My suggestion would be if ordering takeout to call otherwise the wait was a little long especially around dinner time. The parking is located in the building. It said 1/2 hr parking but no ticket was issued the gate opened upon entering and leaving. There are two exits the one on Liona Street and Rycroft Street. read more

We checked out the place during their soft opening last week and ordered the two choice with meat jun and spicy pork, with seaweed, choi sum, kimchee, and cucumbers as the sides. The staff were really nice and friendly and the food was flavorful, but it didn't meet our expectations. We thought it was on the pricey side considering the portions, but the most important thing that would prevent us from going back was the temperature of the food. We understood it was on the busy side and waited about 20 minutes for the food to come out. Thus, it was surprising that when we sat down to eat in the foodcourt area, the spicy pork and rice was just lukewarm. It was disappointing to wait, thinking the food was gonna come out fresh, and then only receive food that felt like it had been sitting out a while. read more
